Lux Bethany Beach House | Walking Distance to Ocean | Gated Community with Pool

The six bedroom, five full and two half bath Indian River Retreat Beach House is the perfect place for a family vacation. The beach house is located in the private gated community at South Shore Marina - located at the north end of Bethany Beach.

With the large windows and multiple decks, including a spiral stair case to the sun deck, this house will become a family favorite for summer trips. The house is walking distance to Delaware Seashore State Park (6/10ths of a mile), where you can enjoy a life guarded beach on the Atlantic Ocean. The Indian River Bay surrounds the home and provides an amazing landscape for relaxation and some of the best sunsets you will ever see.

This modern beach home was professionally decorated and is an ideal summer getaway. The open floor plan on the main level allows you to gather with your family and closest friends, but the multiple levels create privacy and space.

The house elevator makes it easy to get luggage and groceries to each floor.

Spend the day at the beach or take part in the activities offered by Delaware Seashore State Park or all that the local beach communities have to offer. In the evening wind down with dinner and live music overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or Indian River Bay at either Big Chill or Hammerheads, our two local communal restaurants.

The chef in your family will have access to a large kitchen and everything needed to prepare a great family meal or choose to grill on the deck overlooking the Bay. When the sun goes down and things move inside, its time to challenge family and friends to a game of corn hole or cards or enjoy a movie on one of the six large smart TVs.

The home is a short drive to all of the area attractions including: Rehoboth, Dewey, Fenwick Island and Ocean City, MD beaches, outlet shopping, brewery tours, golf, boating, jet skiing, fishing, amazing food and restaurants and so much more.

This is a beautiful, well-furnished home with ample space inside. Views outside were also photo-worthy, especially around sunrise and sunset. Location was walking distance (about a mile) to the beach. We did note a few inches of water on the street each day in the late afternoon, corresponding to high tide this time of year. Some people might feel uncomfortable using the roads during these times. Overall we were happy with our stay, and can understand why this is a highly rated pick.

This is a beautiful house! The gated community was lovely; very quiet, clean and peaceful. We had more than enough room in the house, loved all of the decks, and enjoyed the community pool. The location was so wonderful- a short drive to Bethany, Rehoboth, Dewey, etc. We loved it and would happily stay again. Only one critique- the whole house is in desperate need of a good interior paint job. The walls are marked and dirty and there were a lot of exposed nail holes in the wall. Totally aesthetic- did not at all affect our enjoyment of the property!

Such a great property with so much room, very quiet location, my wife loved the "Eagles Nest" top level outdoor seating overlooking the entire area, 5 minutes to Bethany Beach. Would highly recommend. Just know that there are numerous steps to climb, so if you have any limitations something to consider though the house has an elevator.

We had a wonderful week at the beach staying in this house. It was not only beautifully decorated, but accommodated the 12 of us perfectly, giving us our own private spaces as well as plenty of room to gather together for family dinners, evening games, and watching the World Cup. We purchased seasonal parking permits for the beach and did the less than 5 minute drive there easily every day. The kitchen was well-equipped and large enough to handle several of us prepping and cooking at one time. We loved the fact that this was a gated community and the grand kids loved the easy access to the pool. We enjoyed some exquisite sunsets and walks around the marina in the evening as well. We highly recommend this house for a family get-away.

The host was amazing! He was accommodating, open to communication and swift to answer. The property was gorgeous and well appointed with kitchen items, bedroom and bath necessities, and toys. For the price, certain minor things should have been addressed: the microwave turntable did not work, the dishwasher detergent drawer malfunctioned, a screen in the screened in porch was missing which was a huge safety issue with young children, there were no mixing bowls in the kitchen and no food saver containers to be found. The decks, while numerous and wonderfully appointed all had dirty floors. The furniture on the master deck and that off of the 3rd floor bedroom were unusable due to the fact that they were so beat up by weather that they would have given off splinters to those who attempted to use it.

The dishwasher issue was subsequently reviewed and noted that the dispenser simply needed cleaned. We have also noted the missing screen and will have it addressed. As an additional safety measure, signage is posted indicating that the corresponding windows are to remain closed, with the exception of the lower six-inch windows. As our Tri-Annual full family vacation the house was a very nice layout for all 3 generations to have private areas to go hide in with plenty of room for all together. The location is very private but with easy access to everything there is to do in the area.

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. With the pool across the street it was great with our littles. The ocean was a short drive or bike ride too. We enjoyed being away from the boardwalks and they were close enough to visit the rides and some ice cream

This large house worked out very nicely for our family of 14. It was clean, modern and spacious so we did not feel like we were on top of each other. The many balconies added to the feeling of spaciousness. The kitchen was well equipped, as was the rest of the house. The beds were very comfortable, and the AC worked well. The large dining table accommodated most of us for meals. The elevator came in especially handy during moving in/out and when bringing in groceries. The beach was less than a mile away. We ended up driving there (20/day for out-of-staters to park) because we had a lot of kids and equipment, but one could walk there as well. We used the pool across the street from the house every day. The tennis/pickleball court adjacent to the pool was available most of the time so we played several days. Both were in excellent condition. Overall, this great house and beautiful beach area made for a great vacation. Everyone said that they would definitely like to come back again.

House was just like advertised. It was a lovely property that fit our group well. Kitchen was well stocked and had all the essentials and much more. It was great having beach chairs and umbrellas on property, one less thing to pack. We had a family group (all females, girls trip), and there were no complaints.

This house was wonderful. We had 15 people stay at the house and everyone had plenty of room to spread out. The views were gorgeous from every angle on the property. Jason, the owner, was very helpful and quick with responses when we had questions. Our family had fun and wonderful time together for our long weekend getaway for my parents’ 56th anniversary. Definitely will consider booking this property in the future. Absolutely amazing

Family Beach Vacation

This was the perfect spot for our multigenerational family beach vacation. Great space for all of us to spread out but large dining and living area for time together. Gorgeous views in all directions. There was a quick response to any concerns we had.

Huge property well suited for a large family or multiple families. The host was very responsive when there was a hiccup with checkin and it was resolved very quickly. Location is right between rehobeth and Bethany so it's only a short drive to those boardwalks. The state park nearby provides ample space if you want a closer option for the beach

Girls Beach Weekend

This house was perfect for our girls beach weekend getaway. Plenty of room for all us to stay comfortably and the house has very nice furnishings which provide many living spaces. There are many porches, decks with views to enjoy and the location is prime. I highly recommend this property for any type of vacation and memories to make:)

Great Stay (again)

This was our second time in 3 years renting this home and we hope to rent again. Location is great, house has all the space , beds and baths you’ll need for your group. The various decks, especially the rooftop , are excellent places to hang out. Would highly recommend. Owner is super responsive.

This was one of our best vacations ever! Perfect for extended family, we had a group of 7 adults and 6 children…had room to spare! 2 family rooms, huge kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals, den, sunroom, multiple outdoor patios on each of the 3 floors. Just beautiful. Easy check in. Beautiful gated community on the water with a nice pool and pickleball court.

A lovely long weekend celebrating my 40th birthday!The house was fantastic.We cooked 2 big family meals with a kitchen that had everything we needed.Every bedroom was stunning and comfortable.We utilized the main top floor and rooftop for all our gathering needs.We enjoyed walking to the beach, having drinks at BigChill, and driving into the Bethany Beach area.We only wished our weekend could have lasted longer!We’ll be back for sure!!

Lovely long weekend with family

We loved this clean, well-kept home and the memories we made there. Being nature lovers, we especially enjoyed watching a fox around the marsh, all of the herons, and the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. There was plenty of space for our family group of 12 to eat, play games, and just have fun being together.
