The perfect quaint cozy cabin in the woods. I loved hearing the birds and seeing the mountain view. The walking trail to the lake was very nice, too. Definitely would stay again!

Wonderful little cabin in the woods. Beautiful setting, clean and functional. We loved it.
I love staying in this cabin. was wonderful and relaxing. we had the best time and David was a great landor. The only thing is we renting a 4-wheel drive the next time. But we didn't mind the exercise and haking in nature.
Was exactly as advertised- a little nicer - nice little place / if you don’t have 4 wheel drive - you do have a 10-15 Lung-leg work out before you get to cabin - Dave was prompt and helpful and friendly

There was nothing I did not like. It was one of the best places we stayed. It wasn't fancy or for those who need to be pampered. The owner was a really nice and extremely interesting person.

This was a fabulous place to stay for a few days. Easy access to Denali, of course, but also a beautiful place in its own right, with great views of the surrounding area and a handsome lake within easy walking distance. You need a 4x4 vehicle to drive up to the cabin, as the description explains, but the owner kindly offers a ride both to and from the cabin for check-in and check-out. The place offers a real "get away from it all" experience, and the price in unbeatable. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area. Thanks for a great stay!

My stay with Dave was incredible. There's no other way to describe it. 4x4 and some rough road competency are mandatory for driving right up to the cabin, but you quickly get comfortable with the drive. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay near Denali park. Dave was kind and helpful, much like many folks in the great state of Alaska!

This cabin allows you the Alaskan Experience without the tourist. Extremely accurate description to include the 4WD requirement. The 2WD parking is at the bottom of the hill. Host is absolutely amazing. These small dry cabins are great and really allow you to have solitude in the mountains. Amazingly close to Denali which is great too. I will definitely be back to visit and use this property again. Even the hike to the lake from the property was enjoyable.
We had such a great time! Disconnecting from the real world with the simplicity of the cabin was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska. The property is beautiful and Dave was super friendly/helpful! The walk up the driveway is a doozie but it didn’t bother us at all. We would most definitely rent again.
The cabin was exactly what we were looking for! It was quaint, quiet and secluded. We felt like we were truly in nature. The drive to the cabin wasn’t the greatest, even with a 4x4 vehicle. It had rained all day and was still raining when we arrived so it made it a little more tricky. Ultimately we decided to park and hike in, in the rain. A 4x4 vehicle with higher ground clearance than a Jeep Grand Cherokee is definitely recommended if there is any chance of rain in the forecast.
My son and i usually go backpacking every year to a new National Park and stay in a tent. My back wouldn't allow that this year but we didn't want a hotel. This place was perfect, and what a step up from a tent. Totally secluded up on a mountain with a killer view. Two mattresses, coffee machine with coffee and he supplied water. Outlets, wifi, stove, and small fridge. We loved it!! I wish there were more of these around other National Parks. You absolutely need a 4WD to get up the mountain. We didn't do the lake hike right near the cabin because we couldn't get enough of Denali. The park is just 15 minutes away and in between is the 49th state brewery that had great vide and dependable food.
Really great cabin, very clean, and still pretty new. The location is absolutely gorgeous, on top of a hill with a great view of Mount Healy. If you plan to hike in Denali, you really should get a four-wheel drive vehicle rather than hiking up the lane at the end of the day. It's only a 15-minute hike, but it's about 300 ft of elevation gain - so that's pretty intense if you already did a lot of hiking earlier in the day. Of course my kids still ran up it, and we always made it in less than 15 minutes, but I would have been happier being lazy and driving up it!There's also a little hike down to a small lake and we had a ton of fun looking at all the different animal prints (especially moose) in the mud around the lake. Dave had an electric heater for the cooler nights and we were very comfortable. The outhouse was very clean, close by, and still pretty new.Healy is a great little town and really pretty close with good options for groceries and restaurants. Best of all, it's a regular town, not a tourist trap like Denali Park.
