Dahlonega Wine Country Retreat at Cardinal Hill

Your search ends here. This one-of-a-kind beautiful property is in the heart of North Georgia wine country. It is a completely private apartment and bath. You can walk to Kaya Winery and it is a 1/2 mile to Frogtown Winery. Four other wineries are within minutes. We are situated with the Chattahoochee National Forest and all of its hiking possibilities right in our backyard. A five minute walk to our pond winds through a shady forest trail. The views from this retreat are magnificent in all seasons. Dahlonega, Helen, Sautée-Nacoochee (delightful gem) and Cleveland are all an easy short drive away. Enjoy a relaxing stay with hosts who are thrilled to share the beauty of this property! We can extend the check in/out if the calendar allows, giving you more time at no additional cost!

Many people travel the area on motorcycles or in convertibles/Jeeps in order to experience its beauty. Bicyclists also enjoy the mountain challenge.

There is no end to the activities within close reach: wine hopping, hiking, shopping, restaurants, fishing, rafting. We have provided a variety of resources on what to do in the area.

We are so happy to host you and strive to make this one of your best stays ever! Many guests comment in our reviews that the pictures don’t do it justice. Come see for yourself!

We are on-property and happy to interact with our guests, but we are also fine with laying low and giving you privacy. Please note there are stairs in the unit. The bath is ground floor with the apartment above. The apartment is equipped with a kitchenette area. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Tina was very responsive and check in was seamless. Great location to wineries and KC Bison Ranch. Quiet property. Large bathroom downstairs and small kitchenette is all you need.

Bachelorette overnight stay

The place was so quiet and peaceful. We walked down to the pond, enjoyed the spectacular views and the bed was so comfortable! Would definitely return!

Great stay! Beautiful property

We visited for a short two day trip to Dahlonega. The room had everything we needed for our visit. The property grounds are beautiful! We enjoyed seeing the alpacas everyday and being able to pet and feed them. The short little hike down the path to the pond was also great! Would definitely recommend staying at this property!

Peaceful retreat

Wonderful stay at Cardinal Hill cottage. Beautiful views, peaceful atmosphere and alpacas! Tina was a great host and not one detail was overlooked. The place was beautifully decorated and so comfortable! My sisters and I will be back for another visit soon.

Perfect little spot in the mountains!

I stayed here with 2 friends for a quick girls getaway! Everything was wonderful! We couldn’t beat the location! The space had a cottage feel and was warm and welcoming! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great weekend getaway

It was surprise to see than its Studio! Not 1 bedroom property. Sheets only on 1 bed. Poor communication. Items that owners offered in listing not available (such as baby high chair , toys). Not even one knaif or fork.Nightmare if you traveling with kids. And worst part that I damaged my car because of unclear directions to the lake. The trees on the road and road not clear for driving.... plus its 45' angle and no space for u tern.

Comfortable Stay

My sister and I enjoyed our stay! The accommodations were clean and very comfortable. It is obvious the hosts care about their guests. They provide so many thoughtful touches! I hope to visit again with my husband to explore more of the area. There are so many wineries we did not get to visit.

Great getaway for young couples

This property has a serious set of stairs-so I would not recommend it for older folks or those with mobility issues. The bathroom is the only thing on the entry level. There were k cups, creamer, snacks and brochures and guides for local activities. We enjoyed our stay!

Great stay in wine country

We loved our long weekend at this cute apartment! The hosts were helpful, responsive, and welcoming. And it's hard to beat the location, with two wineries right next door-- we LOVED the wines at Kaya! Only thing I wish we'd known was that there isn't a sink upstairs in the kitchenette (the only one is down stairs in the bathroom) because we had to go up and down to get water for coffee/tea and ended up buying a few gallon jugs for drinking during our stay.

Nice and quiet

Nice little apartment for a short stay. We were there 2 nights which was perfect for what we wanted to do. Went to Dahlonega. Wineries are nearby, we went on a hike to the Amicalola falls. It was very a beautiful location, the alpacas and pups on the property were very very cute. Made some steaks on the grill one evening. Pleasant stay. Thank you.

Clean Equipped Water Maker Ice Tray Microwave Frig/Freezer Comfortable Bed TV with channel options Great Host answers questions quickly and accurate every suggestion on point. Easy parking If you can not walk stairs not the place for you. Bathroom downstairs and living area upstairs. Not a problem for us. Absolutely lovely

I had the privilege of staying one night in this lovely property before retrieving my son from a nearby summer camp. I spent a relaxing afternoon at Kaya Winery, which is basically right next door. What a gorgeous place! I brought a bottle of wine back to the property with me, and enjoyed it on the backyard patio listening to rumbling thunder in the distance. Bliss! The property itself is beautiful. My stay was comfortable and the place was immaculate. I had everything I needed. They even put a welcome sign out for me. I’d love to come back.

We had an excellent stay at this property. The property was beautiful! The room was clean and nicely decorated. Tina and Jay were fantastic hosts. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. The property is close to multiple wineries and hiking as advertised. Everything we wanted to do was in close proximity. We would highly recommend staying here.

This place was above the bar. It was very clean, and the property was so beautiful. Easy to find, and the driveway was very easy to navigate.The doggies were sweet as well. Got to meet the property owner when my Starbucks cup fell out of my car door, and one of the puppies decided it was time to play catch me if you can. Haha. The owner was very sweet and even helped me get the cup. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful property and wonderful hosts!

My daughter (teen) and I stayed one night as we passed through on our way home from visiting family close to Atlanta. I wish we had longer to stay! We explored some of the property but would have loved to see more! The room was so clean and comfortable with all amenities we needed. Directions were clear and the hosts were absolutely lovely! We even left with a sunflower bouquet!
