Spectacular Mountain Views of Tray & Chimney Mountains

“Over the creek and through the woods” . . . to the guest house at Sautee Paso Fino Ranch, a secluded cottage overlooking Chattahoochee National Forest. This privately owned, family mountain retreat is tucked away between historic Nacoochee Valley and Unicoi State Park – convenient to Helen, Unicoi State Park, Clarkesville, and Cleveland.

The Guest House is located on a ridge overlooking the Chattahoochee National Forest and is accessed by a gravel road. As you drive in, there are views of Tray & Chimney Mountains. The picnic table & swing are perfect places to relax and view the mountains.

We welcome you to visit us and enjoy the majesty of the beautiful and ever-changing North Georgia Mountains where each season displays its own distinctive colors and scenes. Surrounding Helen is the Chattahoochee National Forest, Smithgall Woods, and Unicoi State Park. Richard Russell Scenic Highway and the Appalachian Trail are nearby – as well as many streams, waterfalls, hiking trails, and a wide variety of outdoor activities.

We keep a guest book that includes listings of shops, museums, restaurants, and other attractions.

As you arrive, we personally greet you to give you an opportunity to preview the guest house. We make every effort to provide a clean and pleasant environment for you to enjoy; therefore, this is strictly a non-smoking facility.

Please notify owners about breed/size of pets upon your inquiry. Our pet friendly policy allows a maximum of 2 house trained dogs (50 lb limit). We do ask that your pets be placed in an inside carry kennel when you are away from the property. With your inquiry please state that you agree with our pet policy. Arrangements can be made for us to provide a carry kennel if needed. (No cats, please).

There are no rate changes for weekends or holidays.

To save costs for the traveler, we charge NO deposit, pet fee, etc. and we pay credit card fees. VRBO charges a service fee, and law requires that you pay state and local hotel/motel taxes.

Due to the creek crossing......No Motorcycles or ATVs

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and remove leftover food and drinks
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
There are bags on the dining table. Place the (1) used bed linens in one bag and; (2) the kitchen and bath mat(s), and the used towels/wash cloths in the second bag. Place the bags on kitchen floor.
Empty all trash cans and place the trash bag(s) in the center of the kitchen floor.
Clean all dishes and utensils. Return them to the cabinets/drawers.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
If you are bringing a pet, please notify the owner describing the size and type of dog when you make your reservation request.
If you need to leave your pet at the property, place them in their kennel while you are away.

Great welcoming host! The house is a great place to stay in a unique community. The creek crossing is intimidating at first, but was totally manageable in my Prius. Anything lower set would be a bad idea to try in my opinion. Would definitely be willing to visit again!

The only reason I rated this four stars is because we did not get to stay at the venue. Due to weather conditions we had to change our plans. The host was extremely helpful and tried to accommodate us the best he could. It is a beautiful place and we are looking forward to staying there in the future. It is in a beautiful setting and wonderful views of the mountains and surrounding area.

Fantastic place with great view

The place was exactly as advertised and overall was incredible. It was nice to have access to Helen while still also having space and privacy. The place is beautiful and the property manager is tremendously kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend!

Restful Anniversary weekend

We had a fabulous time! Don and Brenda are lovely hosts. They make you feel welcome right away. Guesthouse is beautiful and so secluded and perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. Just a short drive to Helen, GA. Plenty of space for your welcomed pet which is always a plus in my book. We would definitely book again.

The guest house was very clean and was well appointed. It was very private. The owners had gone to great lengths to make sure everything was satisfactory for their guests. The flowers surrounding the home were lovely. It was close to many wonderful things to see and do. Anna Ruby falls was our favorite. We had a very nice stay.

Beautiful & serene

We booked a last minute Memorial Day getaway for our family. Don is so sweet and informative. We did a bit of hiking and sight seeing which is easy to do in this location. Helen was a fun town to visit for dinner, only about 15 min away. The guest house has a wonderful view of the mountain behind it, beautiful gardens and a peaceful escape from reality. We will be back!

Great home in the mountains

This was an amzing stay. Mr Don and his wife were great hosts and made sure everything was perfect. We were met at the property by his wife and was shown around to make sure everything was up to our expectations. Everything was fully stock with cleaning supplies and cookware and other kitchen utensils. There was a great view of the mountains, nice patio area and nice deck for sitting outside. It was also only a short 10-15 drive to Helen. If you are a small family looking for a wonderful vacation home in the mountains, this is definitely it!!

WE TRAVEL ALOT AND I HAVE GOT TO SAY THAT THIS PLACE WAS SO SO CLEAN AND ADORABLE! THE OWNERS WERE REALLY NICE AND HELPFUL. WE WANTED TO WATCH THE DOGS ON A CERTAIN CHANNEL AND THEY WENT TO THE TROUBLE TO MAKE SURE THAT WE COULD WATCH THE GAME. THANKS AGAIN FOR THAT! THERE IS NO CLEANING FEE SO WE TRIED TO MAKE SURE WE LEFT IT THE SAME WAY IT WAS WHEN WE ARRIVED AND HOPE EVERYONE STAYING WILL DO THE SAME, AS NO CLEANING FEE IS AWESOME! Private, Quiet and Secluded

We loved staying here in Sautee Nacoochee, Ga. This is very close to Helen, Georgia. It was so quiet and peaceful. After we visited some state parks and did some hiking to waterfalls, this was a great place to come back to and relax. The house is secluded, which we liked. You do have to cross a shallow creek to get to the house, but it's not bad. Don and Brenda were great host! Check in process was easy. We loved the nicely decorated home. It has a lot of space and they allow pets. Thank you again Don and Brenda for sharing your lovely home with us for our 36th anniversary weekend. We will definitely recommend this place to others. Ruined Vacation!

The property was nice enough, but. the entrance was flooded! We did not want to risk damaging the undercarriage of our car or have trouble ,(with further rain) getting in or out! So, we left, after a 14 hour drive to get there, and a 14 hour drive to get home! Although, we did get a refund, it did not make up for a ruined vacation! Four wheel drive should have been stated as mandoratory not suggested! Very disillusioned with this site!

Enjoyable Stay

Don was very responsive and helped us settle in nicely. It is a comfortable quiet home decorated in a country style. It is very quiet with a large lawn and patio and large rooms. Note the view is only seen from the top of the lawn. I suggest arriving for the first time during daylight. It worked well for us and our 2 small lap dogs and they had lots of room to run around. Note the carpet is light tan so big dogs who like to play in the mud may be a problem. The kitchen is fine but be prepared to supplement if you want to do any meaningful cooking. ie there are 4 plates, 4 bowls so for a family of 4 you will be out of dishes after each meal. There were no "extras" or things you might find leftover from the previous renters (plastic wrap, condiments, zip locks, sugar, spices etc).
