Our stay here was wonderful! We loved the fact that it was out away from people and there was plenty of parking. The place was clean and homey. We stayed here while attending Hay Days in North Branch, MN. We will definitely be back next year!

Had a great time, enjoyed having the kayaks, grill, and fire pit to use! There are stores close by to quick pick up any items we needed, with lots of hiking to do in the surrounding area. Dog was very friendly, loved having him around to play with too!
Small. But thats all my sons and i needed... spent most of the time on the water

It was alright.
My husband and I rented this property for 2 days so we could bring our kids on our first adventure/vacation as a family. The pictures of the property are pretty accurate, as is the description given, but it's the lack of things mentioned that merits my 2-star review. This space is above a detached garage, and is loft-style. The fridge/freezer unit is small, and I would be really impressed if 4 people could fit around that table comfortably. But, those aren't huge deals and everything inside was nice- just a little smaller than imagined. The fire pit, yard, and dock are all shared with whoever is renting the 'main house' that is mentioned (which is about 20 feet from this space) and we did not feel welcome to use the kayaks/canoe that were shown in the pictures. Listing did not state that the owners live on-site in their half of the 'main house' which honestly wouldn't have been an issue had the owners not sat outside in the yard, constantly watching my family and I as we tried to enjoy some "private, relaxed" family time. My husband and I both felt like we needed to ask permission to do anything and like we were viewed more as guests, versus renters who paid for this space. Listing mentioned no dogs/pets allowed; yet, the owners' dog was loose in the "shared yard" most of the time. The dog was very friendly, but it probably should've been mentioned that he is going to be around you anytime you're outside. With that, the female owner walked the dog around our area, not 10 feet from us, while we were grilling and playing. Didn't say a word, just inspected the area as if she was doing a perimeter sweep. She did this twice. During our stay, the dog took 2 craps in the "shared yard", which were graciously left for my husband to step in while barefoot. On a positive note, the male owner did light off some large-scale fireworks for us to see, so that was cool. Again, the owners were friendly enough, just way too involved and constantly around, which made it difficult for us to relax and enjoy our time the way we hoped to.

Our unit is set up for 4 people(4 beds, 4 chairs, 4 towels) 5 people would make it feel small. We only interact with guests when they interact first. We keep our dog leashed if our guests are not comfortable with him. When they give us permission and are confortable with him, we allow him to be in the yard unleashed. We will walk him along the perimeter of the property for your privacy. We do sit outside on our patio(located on the other side of the yard) for our meals or to relax, but we are not 'watching' our guests. I am not sure why you felt you couldn't use the kayaks or canoe or felt you had to ask permission, we mention the available use of the amenities in our listing. We usually do not do fireworks when we gave guesrs
We enjoyed our stay !! Very clean and close to nice restaurants and things to do .

The unit was clean and comfortable.. A coffee pot / coffee would have been nice for the mornings. The owners have a large dog that does jump, but very friendly...
