Two Weeks in Brian’s Bellport House
The house and property are as described in the pictures and descriptions. It is a compact house that has been ingeniously re- designed to make maximum use of its space. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a screened/ window porch, LR, TV room, salt water pool and patio. The house has many contemporary features in the kitchen and baths with glass enclosed stall showers. All modern appliances, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer. A complete array of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, glass ware and dishes. A very good, “like new” outdoor propane bbq by the pool. Lots of beach towels. The TV has an Apple feature for additional channels and movies. There is a Peloton bike in the windowed porch for renter’s use. Bellport is a lovely little village with a number of restaurants. There is an 18 hole golf course and club house that a renter can use by paying a fee for a village pass. We love the beach, and Bellport has its own ferry that takes you on a 20 minute ride to a beach on Fire Island for dedicated use by Bellport residents. Renters get use of the beach with that same village pass. You also can purchase discounted ferry tickets at the Village Hall. The price of that village pass and ferry tix adds about $450 to your stay. And, of course, if you are a golfer, you must pay green fees. For a party of two, you pay approx. $170 a round. There is also a nice public beach to which you can drive over a Causeway. It is called Smith Beach. Bellport is very well situated if you want to go to the Hamptons for restaurants, shopping, etc. There are also some good restaurants within a 5 mile radius of the village. The owner of the house and his partner (unnamed here to preserve privacy), could not have been more accommodating. Before our start date we received a detailed set of written instructions about the house and where things were located, as well as a suggested list of restaurants and assorted other information. When we arrived, there were three bottles of wine waiting for us—a very nice welcome. At several points prior to, and during, our stay we had questions and both hosts were most willing to be helpful. We had the pleasure of meeting them in person before our stay ended and they couldn’t have been nicer. Our entire stay in Bellport was wonderful, and the house and it’s permanent residents certainly contributed to it.
