This house was a great place for our weekend getaway. The views were beautiful. We had some miscommunication on parking, but it was resolved quickly. I would highly recommend this house for a great stay.
We had an amazing week stay at the Bercher! This house was a perfect getaway from the big city, plenty of room for us all, including 3 teenagers! The views from the balcony were amazing (including all the sounds of nature right outside to listen to), the house was clean, comfy and the host was amazing to work with! The location was perfect! Getting to the house was a little nerve wrenching when you are not used to the terrain. After the firstvfews trips in and out we were pros! The driveway was steep, we had a minivan and it did make the hill just fine. We did take the advice from other reviews and drive to the end of the road to turn around and come back because we would not had made it up the driveway any other way! No the less it was do-able and well worth the drive! The house itself was clean. It had everytjing we needed, including a hair straightener which my girls loved doing their hair! The kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed for any cooking we did. Towels and such for showering and use of the hotub was plentiful. The washer and dryer were a bonus because we ended needing to use it.g we needed to make our week easy and enjoyable!! The hotub was Defhst was easy to contact and very friendly. We traveled through the night from Michigan and were able to get into the house a bit early which was very helpful on our end because we were all exhausted. We were very thankful it was able to work out! Overall we had an amazing trip, and would definitely come again!!
We enjoyed our stay at the Bercher. The views were amazing as we had our morning coffee on the deck. At night we enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pit.
Although as advertised the driveway is steep, we were able to navigate it with our Toyota Prius. The pictures do not do the views from the property justice! This home was absolutely wonderful for our vacation! Peaceful, relaxing, private. Loved our stay! Absolutely recommend!
Great family time in the Black Hills!
The host was quick to respond.
They are NOT joking about the steep driveway but the views from the hottub are worth it!
My wife and I booked for a few nights. Loved it!!
The views from the deck were amazing!! The place was very clean. Communication with Julie was great!!
Definitely benefited having 4 wheel drive getting up the steep incline.
We will be back next year!!
This is a must book!!!
We really enjoyed this home on the mountains! It was perfectly located about 30 minutes to all the South Dakota attractions! We loved the home, it was cozy, clean, and well furnished! The views amazing!! We also did one of the ATV tours they offer which was so fun!
Overall completely amazing, clean, modern cabin with all/most amenities we needed. Semi secluded for a community with more space and privacy between other cabins than we expected. Very steep driveway and mountainous windy, hilly roads to access the property which the owner does disclose with your booking. We stayed 2 nights with our 2 teens and all of us had a wonderful time -oudoor firepit, oversized fuzzy blankets, hot tubbing under the stars, it was all so relaxing.
Very well kept home with with breathtaking scenery. Incredible location, clean, and classic feel. Convenient amenities, including cookware, coffee maker, washer/dryer, and tv with access to streaming services. Very cozy, even has a hot tub to relax in. Our family enjoyed our stay, and would love to come back!
We so enjoyed our stay. Julie and Chuck were absolutely wonderful to work with. The Bercher was the perfect size for our family. The hot tub on the deck was fabulous and so was the view. We wish we had known how long it took to get up the mountain to the house, but we have no other complaints.
Everything went great and was exactly as promised!

A wonderful place for a get away. We absolutely loved everything about it and can't wait to come here again. If you are looking for the Black Hills experience, this is it.
One word of caution, you will need AWD or 4WD to access it. The driveway up to the house is quite steep.
We were in all of the Bercher as soon as we arrived we all had to get out of the car and just enjoy the view, and be amazed at our accommodations and where it was. We had lots of fun, hot tubbing to grilling steaks on the barbecue to join sitting around the fire pit and viewing the meteor shower. Julie was most accommodating and friendly. Thank you Julie we’ll be back.

Great view but very steep driveway!
House was clean and well represented in pictures, outside of the very steep driveway. The house sits on a cliff which offers beautiful views, but not a place for small children to play. Check in was very easy and host was very responsive.
We had a fantastic time during our stay. We were immediately sold when we saw the photo of three recliners in the living room, since there are three of us. One of our party had to keep her eyes closed whenever we traversed the driveway, but honestly it wasn't an issue in the Tahoe. It felt private, tree'd in well, lots of hot tubbing time and using the fire table was super easy. Other than the prankster female spirit that lives on the upper level, a perfect stay.
Great peaceful setting within proximity of plenty to do. Short drive to Sylvan Lake where we hiked up Black Elk Peak. Shorter drive to the reservoir to swim for the day. For some reason the Bear Gulch access gate was closed so that was a bummer. And the house needs a cheese grater. ;) Would recommend.
They were correct...it is a very steep driveway. The house is remote and pleasant. There were issues with the cleanliness of the dishes, we washed everything before using it because of that. The service does say the person staying is responsible for the dishes but they should check to make sure things weren't put away dirty. Everything was comfortable and pleasant.
