Wake up to Lake of Egypt views from Summer's Cove - a charming lake house that's pet-friendly, family-friendly, and right on the water.

THE SPACE
Three bedrooms, two baths, sleeps 9. Bedrooms 1 and 2 each have a queen bed; Bedroom 3 has a queen plus a bunk bed - perfect for kids or extra guests. A futon downstairs adds another sleeping spot.

The open kitchen and floor plan are made for gathering. Cook in the fully-stocked kitchen, eat together at the dining table, then drift out to the screened-in porch with rocking chairs and lake views. Newly remodeled with a fun retro vibe - and professionally cleaned between every stay.
There is an extra folding table and chairs under the stairs for if family comes by to share a meal.

This is a real lake property - meaning even when we have a pest company, spider webs and the occasional creepy crawly may show up even after a thorough cleaning. We do our best, but nature wins sometimes.

• Kayak & Paddleboard: Return both up by the deck. • Thermostat: Set to a maintenance level of 75–80°F or higher, so the air isn't running while no one is home.
• Report Any Damage: Please let us know about anything broken, missing, or not working so we can address it before the next guest arrives.
Non-shedding pets are allowed. The policy for extra pet cleaning from fur or dirt is a $50 charge.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No loud music that bothers the neighbors

The area was beautiful, the lake was very nice, and the host was responsive throughout our stay. However, our stay had several cleanliness and safety issues. The bedding was dirty and had visible stains. The downstairs shower did not work—the water only flowed from the bathtub faucet and would not come through the showerhead.Most concerning was the paddleboard, which had a hole we were not made aware of. It began sinking while the children were using it, creating a serious safety risk. Unsafe equipment should never be provided to guests.The gas grill also did not work properly. The third gas valve was broken, and the burner would not light. Overall, these problems affected our stay and should be addressed before the property is rented to future guests.

The communication was top notch. I noticed the weekend opened up after we had booked. She was able to add 2 days for us and answered many questions through out the booking. This was my 1st VRBO snI had alot of questions. The property was very nice and will hold alot more than the 4 of us. I would rent again. Thanks again.

Summer Break

We came to Lake of Egypt for a nice getaway before school starts back up. The property was very nice. We really enjoyed the kayak and paddle board. Thanks for a great getaway!

Perfect Getaway and Beautiful Location

The house is beautiful. It fit our family of five with no issues. I wasn't sure if we would have everything we need for the trip so we brought some of our necessities. We were wrong! Summer had this place completely stocked with everything we needed. My wife enjoyed the screened in porch. Its back in a quiet little spot off the cove and perfect spot for fishing. We brought our boat and had such a great time. Lake of Egypt is perfect. There is so much to do and we didn't get to do all the things we wanted. Everyone was so friendly. Thank you Summer for hosting us. We had the perfect family vacation. Highly recommend staying at this gorgeous lakehouse.

I aim to be responsive and to leave the home stocked the way I'd want a host to leave it for me. Enjoy your stay — and please treat the space with special care like it's your own.

Why they chose this property

What I love most about this spot is the privacy. We're tucked off the main lake, away from the boat traffic and the clanking of docks in the wind. You still get all the beauty of the water — sunsets, swimming, kayaking — without the bustle. It's the kind of quiet that makes you remember why you booked a lake house in the first place.

What makes this property unique

You can fish right off the dock. The water is pool-temperature in summer, perfect for swimming or just floating. It's very quiet and the water looks like glass when the wind isn't blowing. On summer evenings, the fireflies come out and put on a show you won't see in many places anymore.
