We were blown away by the property! We have been coming to the lake for years and this was by far our best experience. The waterfront on the property is perfect and we had more than enough kayaks, paddle boards and other water toys to please and occupy everyone in our group. Highly recommend this property and will most definitely be back!
Exceptionally clean and plenty of room for two families. The host is very gracious and accommodating. There are many kitchen items supplied (ice cream maker, crock pot, spices, etc.). We enjoyed all of the free water “toys” (canoe, paddle boat, kayaks, etc.). Fern Clyffe State Park is only a few minutes away and we enjoyed hiking there, although there’s no reason to get bored at the chalet. Our two grandkids loved it )as did we).
House was clean and smelled amazing upon arrival. Temps were hot outside so upon arriving and walking inside the air felt so nice. Gerald met us upon arrival and explained things and made us aware if we needed anything he wasn’t too far from us. Kayaks, paddle boards, and lily pad were a hit with our wedding party for our bach trip. Was hands down the best trip we have had with a group of 9 people. It was so relaxing to wake up and see the sun rise over the lake as well as watch the sunset from the dock.
We had a great and relaxing stay! We loved our time there. Plenty of amenities. Fishing and hanging out the dock was great. We would definitely visit in the future.
This was the second year our family rented this property. As was last year, everything was as advertised with a couple upgrades. Gerald again allowed us to park our camper on his vacant lot at no additional charge. It allowed us to continue our vacation at Rend Lake without driving all the way back home to pick up camper. Our kids and grandkids love all the amenities down at the spacious dock. We will definitely return.
The home was just as described. The outside grounds including the dock, kayaks, paddle board were enjoyed by all 9 of us, ages from 13 to 49. Great location on the lake with privacy. The home was clean and well maintained. Gerald communicated well and was available if we needed him. The air conditioning kept the home cool when we stayed and it was a hotter than average Illinois July when we stayed. We rented a boat and was able to keep it in the boat slip on the property. Great place to stay and would recommend 100%.

A great stay is more than just a great home. The grounds and the home are prepared for your enjoyment along with a host of amenities. If a boat is brought or rented from a vender it can be moored in the oversized covered boat slip with plenty of electric outlets and lighting on a multi-fun dock. A flat backyard leads to the lake overlooking the ski area in a no-wake cove with no through traffic.
Everything at the Eagles nest was perfect! The house and rooms were spotless. Kitchen had every thing we needed. The outside area is very private and peaceful, with multiple bird feeders that brought in a variety of birds that were fun to watch in the morning while relaxing on the upper porch. The dock is very spacious and sturdy. We would recommend staying here to anyone.

Our attention to detail inside and outside the property and its many amenities is important to us to enhance the total guest experience during their stay.
Gerald, the owner was great ! The house was immaculate and staged sooo cute. We went to do a little spring crappie fishing, but the place was so relaxing and comfortable, we only went once. We just couldn't leave the comfort and privacy of the porch/deck, especially with all the small wild life. Absolutely enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend this Host and his wonderful property. We have stayed on the lake for 7 years, but the first time here with Gerald. Lucky us !!
I rented this beautiful lake house for my daughter’s bachelorette party. It was absolutely perfect as her dream bachelorette consisted of hiking and enjoying nature. The paddle boat made for a lovely morning memory with her sister even with a slight sprinkle of rain. The evening kayaking was awesome! The house itself was under sold, it is more beautiful than the pictures do justice. Coffee on the deck overlooking the lake and beautiful scenery was a great way to start the day. Close to so many great hiking trails and of course the southern Illinois wineries, you won’t be bored! We will definitely be back!
This was our third stay. We always feel confident that we can expect a warm, clean, and welcoming experience where all our needs are anticipated. We'll be back!
