Great location, scenery was beautiful, cabin was good for the money. A little outdated but clean. Very old school, antique which was different and a cool experience for our kids.
We really enjoyed our stay in Derby. It was the perfect spot for 4 couples to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. We loved the view, especially the sunrise. The local wineries were a great addition to our visit. We would definitely return.
This property is so beautiful. It is nicely private and very peaceful. My husband an I visited for a weekend away for our 15 year anniversary. It was just the rest and relaxation we needed.
Relaxing view of the river. Fun watching the barges go by. Wish we had taken fishing poles, you could hear the fish jumping in the mornings and evening
Not many cooking accessories

Didn't stay... place was not what was advertised. The pics and story about the place compared to what was actually there was totally opposite. I contacted the owner about refund and thst his place was creepy, bugs, not clean or safe and was told that i was first person to ever say that.

Great if not worried about cooking.
This was the only stay that did not have good cooking ware. I love to cook and do so on all vacations so this is important to me other than that it was wonderful!!
We had a great trip despite all the flooding. Wifi is spotty as previously mentioned. One private bedroom. The spiral stairs lead to another bedroom, which has amazing views but isn’t very private because it’s connected to the upstairs bathroom and another bedroom. And there are no curtains to block the light. The other bedroom upstairs has 2 beds which was nice. The cabin was super cute and exactly as described. The bed situation was a little misinterpreted which is why I mentioned it. The hot tub was a nice treat! Thanks for a great mini vacation!!
If you’re looking for a place to get away from people this is it.
Don’t expect anything fancy in the very small town or things to do that aren’t experiencing nature. Plan to play board games, talk, read or just chill looking at the river. (there is internet and a smart tv) but let yourself disconnect and recharge. Also plan on cooking meals, the general store is pretty well equipped but does close “early” for larger city standards. So you may want to come prepared with things to prepare/eat depending on your arrival time.
Overall it was an excellent refreshing stay. 10/10
Scenery is gorgeous with views of the lake & trees for miles to see. Hot Tub drew us in and didn't disappoint. 5 of us had rooms to chill in plus big family room to play cards, drink, eat and lots of laughter while looking at an intriguing spiral stairway in front of window with a view of the lake. It is a Barn type feel with thick pieces of lumber painted white with metal door locks that made you feel safe. Showers & toilets worked well (especially having 3 boys) plus a nice washer and dryer for all those hot tub towels. Kitchen was small but open which I didn't mind . Outside had a simple weber grill in one spot & simple firepit in another and plenty of room for pets and walks on the hilly grounds.
Things to note* Front entrance VERY close to the roadway kids & pets be aware. Limited & unlevel parking. WIFI is intermittent at best. Video games, watching shows or working on personal computer will be frustrated. Furniture is a little outdated but stayed with a summer camp feel. Only thing I would add are patio lights all around the decking to the hot tub or at least around the hot tub which would put the icing on the cake. Thank you for an awesome trip. Definitely worth the price and would do it again,
The house was a lovely little oddity right on the river as advertised. As other reviews said the cookware is only meh but everything else was lovely, rustic, and charming. Communication with the property manager was easy. Checking in and out was as simple as it gets. Would definitely recommend this spot to others!

Quiet stay
Overall is was quiet the bed in the downstairs bedroom was hard feeling woke up early both morning with a backache from it showers are tiny kitchen is tiny nice view of the lake from the living room, back deck, and upstairs loft room living room is a pretty decent size and was nice to hangout in the hot tub was nice and relaxing. Do not order from the post restaurant they will charge you for food that you didn't get and say that they don't sell the said food anymore and argue with you about charging you for it and the guy who took our order over the phone had an attitude the entire time he was taking our order. Other than that the derby general store right down the street they were all nice, and nobody bothers you at this cabin the bathroom downstairs there's no handle to the out side of the bathroom door so couldn't close the door unless your in the bathroom
On the Rocks is a lovely property with plenty of room for 10. Kitchen is small but works for what you need. My only complaint is that the cookware is overdue for an update. Wonderful deck to set and eat and watch the barges go by. Hot tub was amazing as well. It was perfect for our weekend getaway!
