About this property

Cypress Cove - Cozy home just off Hiwassee River in Historic Charleston TN

So much to do; so little time!
As we enter our fourth year of hosting we welcome you to come spend some time at Cypress Cove. We work hard to offer a clean, comfortable, well maintained home for your family to enjoy. The house was remodeled to better suit a Vrbo clientele and all of our travelers have found it clean and charming.
Centrally located to multiple attractions. Dollywood, Smokey Mountains, Ocoee River Rafting, Lee University, Ramble Creek and Howe Farm wedding venues. Tri-State Exhibition center as well as close by Chattanooga attractions.
2 bedrooms with King beds, 3rd bedroom with two double beds, fully equipped kitchen, screen deck, fire pit, Cypress Grove joins the property. Walking distance to the Hiwassee River and Charleston city park with nice playground, covered pavilion and walking trails. Charleston Heritage Center, with in depth exhibits pertaining to the Trail of Tears and the Civil War, is also within walking distance. All new bed and bath linens furnished. There are a couple streets nearby that cross the train tracks and the train does blow a horn before crossing. How often this happens varies greatly. We have purchase a couple of white noise machines for the King bedrooms. If you are a light sleeper and that horn is bothersome, hopefully those will make your night more peaceful. Nice little community.

Lake Cabin Feel

Rented this home for a quick getaway with our adult kids and grandkids for the July 4th holiday. Adorable home nestled in Charleston - clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and we took advantage of the gas grill, fire pit, and screened porch. Would definitely stay here again.

Our summer visit.

This home is so cute and cozy. The back view is such an added bonus. A HUGE yard in the back. Very private and beautiful. The bedrooms are perfect for big families. The host provides a firm bed and a soft bed for your preference. Sound machines in the 2 main rooms for a good night sleep is also an added bonus. A welcome basket is provided with local made goodies and bottled water. If given the opportunity we will be booking again. Thanks so much Karen and John for such a nice getaway.

Great location

We needed a centrally located place to visit all the sites connected to the Cherokee Nation's forced removal from their homelands. The house was the perfect location, and the property owners were wonderful to work with!

Awesome house.

We were very happy with the house. Location was great for what we needed. We didn't use the firepit , but it was an awesome addition and had firewood provided. We had no hiccups or anything with check-in or check-out.

Great stay with all the amenities

Great property that had everything we needed. Plenty of space, everything was clean. Convenient highway access and amenities in town - grocery store, gas, etc. Our toddler enjoyed the park within walking distance and watching the trains go by on the nearby railroad.

Wonderful cozy home away from home

The accommodations were just right. The beds were comfortable and the owners were easy to communicate with. They left little touches of hospitality that made it seem even more special. The neighborhood is very quiet. I was a great experience.

This was our 3rd time staying at the home. We had hoped our grandchildren would stay, but they visited all day and we had a wonderful time. We did lots of activities from carving pumpkins to going to the park and restaurants in Charleston. Love the trains.

We liked it so much, we came back!

We love this place! This was our second time to stay in this house, and we liked it just as much as the first time. The kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes we needed, and the appliances are up-to-date - the icemaker even works (many in vacation rentals don't!). The bedding is super comfortable. We also love the fire pit out back and enjoyed roasting marshmallows for smores. The grill works great too. We used both both times we were there. We also enjoy the park within walking distance (complete with several basketball goals which my kids love) and had a picnic at the boat ramp right by the beautiful Hiwassee. We also enjoyed the beautiful historic downtown. We'll be back! Highly recommended.

Comfortable get away

Needed a weekend stay for a softball tournament in nearby Cleveland. House was comfortable with two nice size bedrooms and a smaller third room with two doubles. Had everything necessary to make our stay comfortable. Neighborhood was someone run down but the house itself was kept very well. Far better than staying in a hotel. Place was clean upon arrival and had no issues. Drive to Cleveland was a short 12 minutes. We were also able to enjoy rafting approximately 30 minutes away on the Hiawassee.

not good for elderly/handicapped

across street from railroad. trains night and day. Odd lay out for house. only access from house to back screened porch is through the master bedroom. The mb had a HUGE step down into bathroom. Hall bath grout etc very dirty looking, cobwebs in corner under shower curtain. Overall, we were never so glad to leave a rental property. Friends even left early rather than stay full time.

Disappointing- mold issues -got sick

Traveled with family for a funeral... not leisure... booked last minute as soon as I had booked my flight. Flight was all day event with layovers, arrived late at night, walked in and my heart sank. The smell of air freshener to cover the smell of mold... I have been renovating houses and know the smell .. black mold that is hiding in walls. I should have walked out then with my family. Since it was so late and midnight by the time someone from VRBO talked to me, they didn't' guide me to leave... one of group members wanted to take a bath, filled the tub in the master.... all cold water! No hot water. It was then drained which caused gurgling in the main bath probably the issue of the mold. Main bath has evidence of sinking foundation/floorboards. Facade to cover the derelict state of the home. The mold smell was coming from around that bathroom and the bedroom closet that is on the backside of the bathtub. Evidence of expansion from moisture to outside wall. There is also evidence of a roof leak to the roof flashing that is coming down above the front door and over the door header, warping the casing. .Pubic hair in sheets. See through curtains. Woke up to sore throats, sinus congestion, runny noses, asthma attacks, migraines, burning eyes, smell of mold in guest CPAP machines had to be professionally cleaned to rid of smell. House air filter was almost black and filled with debris. Train at night :( Owner seemed unaware

John and I welcome you to Cypress Cove. We have owned this home for many years and decided 3 years ago to list it as a vacation home rather than rental property. We updated and furnished it adding new bedding, linens, kitchen needs etc as well as a new HVAC unit. John is a lifelong resident of the Charleston area (and I have been here 40+ years as well) and we love the area and all it has to offer so it seemed a perfect fit to list this house with VRBO so you can enjoy the beauty, majesty , and history of our little town as well. We have been members of VRBO on the traveler side for many years and have always found it to be a great way to vacation and spend time with family. We hope you enjoy your stay at Cypress Cove.
