About this property
Whispering Waters Cabin by The Creek
Whispering Waters Cabin was built in 1936 adjacent to a great spring in rural Northwestern Williamson County. The structure did not have any indoor plumbing until 1992, when I got tired of using the outhouse and washing in the creek under the bridge. The setting is surrounded by woods and lots of water, wildlife critters and many varieties of birds, including my two favorites: the Wood Thrush and seasonal Humming Birds. It's a quiet spot in an otherwise busy and congested world, that offers a safe haven for as long as the guest wishes to stay. The front porch is a wonderful and relaxing spot to listen to the creek and birds. The cabin itself has only four rooms, but they are spacious and inviting. The fully supplied kitchen is ready for "gourmet" visitors interested in all things "gastronomical"! Or simply order out! There is on the property a large organic garden that I tend to all year, and a berry patch with in season blueberries galore! The rooster on the ridge due east of the front porch vocalizes throughout the day. Other than that, it's a peaceful little place on this great planet that I call home, and invite you to visit!

Our stay at Whispering Waters Cabin was wonderful! The bed and couch were very comfortable. The setting was so peaceful, and we enjoyed walking the grounds and picking some blueberries. We also made use of the French press and enjoyed tea and coffee on the porch listening to the stream. We will definitely be back.
I've stayed twice now--and it's homey every time. Beautiful place to stay during the spring when it's all blooming. I stayed in April and it was just magical. God is here!
The property certainly met the needs for what we were looking for. Some information on the wifi capability was not clear, but that issue was resolved once it was discussed with the owner of the property. No significant issues.
This is such a blessed place. God is there. Theres so much wildlife—and flowers and animals I rarely see or have never seen before! I’ve booked a second time already. Thank you for your wonderful stewardship of this place.

My heart soars to hear these words! Thank you for choosing my humble cabin as your overnight destination and please visit again,... and again!
This was a nice little place to stay, peaceful location. I wish it had a tv just because we like to watch some tv in the evenings, other than that it’s a great place to stay and relax.

Billie, I appreciate your staying on Caney Fork Creek at my humble cabin! I've tried several options to make T.V. available, but to no avail. Cable does not run down the road. I looked into a satellite dish, but I'd have to cut down the 200 year old Oak tree, and the 100 year old Tulip Poplar to get a southern view for the dish, and I'm unwilling to do that. The good news is that fiber optic does run down the road, so if anyone brings a laptop or tablet, they can watch anything their hearts desire!
I hope you visit again someday.
We truly enjoyed our stay and our host was absolutely wonderful. They added some special touches that we've never experienced before. The surrounding area is beautiful and this is a wonderful place to go to relax and enjoy nature.

Sandy, your review is so appreciated! I had nothing to do with the surrounding countryside, but I have total control over "Service" and that is what I strive to provide all year long. I enjoyed you and your entourage of besties, and I hope that you all return someday! The cabin was left in incredible shape. WOW! Thank you -
No fenced in yard but very calm and great place to walk dogs. We sat on the porch a lot listening to to stream. No special things fir dogs like beds or crates but pet fee was very reasonable

I appreciate everyone who books my cabin. The venue is first and foremost a short term rental for guests, who are welcomed to bring along their furry babies. Having said that, my rental is not a kennel or Doggy Spa. I don't feel compelled to offer dog beds or dog toys or dog crates; I feel those things are the responsibility of the pet owner. My little spot in paradise does offer a quiet road to walk on, adjacent to the creek. I live next door, and there is a lovely two acre field to wander in. The opportunities to sniff and scratch are countless, and a treat for city dogs! I hope this clarifies what to expect if you decide to book with me on Caney Fork Creek, and travel with your extended family!
My wife and I have two dogs. The joy and laughter they bring to our lives is incredible! We welcome all responsible pet owners!!!
Stuart’s cabin was a perfect quiet get away for my husband and I! He was a great host and very kind! Would love to stay here again, especially in the fall or when it’s cooler so we can really enjoy the outdoors!

Absolutely lovely! So peaceful and relaxing! Perfect for my little getaway. I loved having tea on the front porch and watching the hummingbirds. I will stay here again!
This cabin is the true essence of rustically charming and cozy! We have stayed multiple times and will continue to book with this great host whenever we visit with our Nashville family!

Colleen and her cohort are welcome anytime of year, here on Caney Fork Creek! Delightful couple with a nice four legged companion - my kind of guests -
This Cabin was very well equipped with everything you would need. The surroundings were very quiet and it was wonderful to hear the stream. We really enjoyed our stay here.
This was a beautiful cabin away from it all. Very relaxing!

About the host
Hosted by Stuart McFarland Moore
I am a 7th generation Tennessean raised in Nashville. My parents are cousins, who met for the first time when they were mere children. That makes my siblings my cousins as well. Welcome to the South! I moved to this country setting in Williamson County in December of 1990. The cabin had no indoor plumbing, no insulation in the walls, and a "used to the max" outhouse. So I dug a deep hole and made a new one. Yes, in the dead of winter, it is a race to and from, but I would change nothing for the first couple of years spent here. If nothing else, I makes one appreciate so many things that are otherwise taken for granted in our First World Nation!
I spend most of my time out doors in the landscape and gardening industry. Reading is one of my greatest pastimes (English major in college, History minor). I grow vegetables on the property, organically, of course! Sustainability issues specifically and environmental stewardship in general are passions of mine, which I am always happy to share with any guest that is interested.
Why they chose this property
This property because, the peace and quiet we truly need in our lives, on occasion, in this modern country of ours, is to be found here on Caney Fork Creek!
What makes this property unique
The uniqueness of the property is in part the environment setting coupled with the cabin quickly approaching 100 years standing. It was constructed of rough cut oak; driving a nail into the studs is near impossible! It is located maybe 20 yards from a great flowing spring, which explains its exact location, and Caney Fork Creek is just across the street, however, when it was built, todays road was more cow path than road. The abundant water cools the air, and in some mysterious way, invigorates the senses! A giant oak adjacent to the spring must be at least 150 years in the making. Three people can't hardly get their arms around it, fingers touching. Another creek flows on the northern boundary of the property. The wind sings - the creek whispers - the awe of it all prevails and a sense of peace ensues! Come see for yourself!!!
