Great family cottage on quiet Hess Lake

Beautiful outdoor living spaces on quiet all sports lake. Great family space! Shallow water for kids to swim, a dock to park your boat and room to sleep up 10!

Three levels provide great space to spread out.

Main level features large bathroom and open living kitchen, dinning and living room with pull out couch. Double sliders open to a large well appointed deck with eating and sitting area.

Spiral staircase leads upstairs to a great sleeping loft with two double beds and one queen.

Another spiral staircase leads to the walk out lower lever with an additional full bath, bedroom with double bed, washer, dryer and wet bar. Walk out to additional outdoor living space.

Lake is just a few steps down. Nice grassy sitting area with firepit and hammock overlooks dock and shallow water for playing. Great for fishing, kayaking, swimming or boating.

We loved having coffee on the deck overlooking the lake. Had a great time on the lake and really enjoyed the sandbar. We are planning to come back next year

Family vacation 2022

We had 8 adults and this suited us just fine, it will fit 10. It is loaded with everything you need in the kitchen except a blender. It also accommodated our boat and jetski. We had a great time staying at this property and would definitely stay here again. The host is available when needed, however we didn't need anything. We lost power due to a storm, it was back on by morning and the host checked to see if we had issues, we had no issues.

Fun on the lake

Cute Decorated cabin. Location is excellent! Beautiful lake! Home is fully accommodating and has anything you need to enjoy your time at the lake. Makes you feel like your at home. Note* There are a lot of step stairs and twisting stairs. A little scary for small children or anyone elderly or anyone with difficulty in walking. Can’t be helped , do to design and location of home. Owner does provide a baby gate and has protected them as much as possible. Loved how shallow the water was at lake and dock for kids to swim. Wonderful time !

Best for children a little older

We stayed here with 4 adults, 6 year old, 2 year old and 3 month. It has a great outdoor space and shallow water by the dock for easy wading. It isn’t anything fancy, though it is comfy and meets the needs you could possibly have on a lake vacation. The place was overall clean but there were a few locations in the kitchen and another area that were not and I needed to clean them. For children the spiral stairs are steep, the vertical bars are larger than a child’s head and can easily fit an entire child through them. The beds are comfy and there is plenty of blankets and pillows if needed. The top loft area (room with the three beds) didn’t seem to benefit from the AC and got very hot during the day so the three stand up fans are a must to use, but if the nights are cooler it cools off quickly. We would stay again 😊

Nice location, clean environment, nice views. Really helpful that many of the condiments were already stocked in kitchen.

Communication directly with the property owner would have been much better. The process of logging into the VRBO site and communicating through another party is not ideal.

Great little cottage

We had a great time here with our family. The place was very clean, well decorated, and had everything we needed. Beautiful views from the deck. Close to the water which was nice. The Lake is all about water sports (not great for fishing). Definitely glad we brought our boat! The stairs are a little dicey if you have little ones or elderly, but it was fine for us. The owner was responsive amd helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Our family loves the outdoors, especially water! Unfortunately we are not able to enjoy our cottage all the time, so our lose is your benefit! You get to use this wonderful lake front property while we are otherwise occupied.

Why they chose this property

Relatively quiet all sports lake with an up-north feel. Close enough for great day trips and shopping but far enough to feel away.
