Capture the essence of lake life at this stunning new lakefront cabin nestled in the Nantahala National Forest on Queen’s Lake! This 3-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath vacation rental is well-appointed with sleeping arrangements for 8 guests, 2,000 sq ft of tastefully decorated living space, and a private deck with picturesque lake and mountain views.

Outdoor enthusiasts will love the proximity to an array of outdoor adventures like kayaking, swimming, and fishing on the lake, hikes through the Great Smoky Mountains, fly-fishing, white-water rafting excursions on the Nantahala or Tuckasegee Rivers, or day trips to Bryson City and Cherokee - all minutes away!

Our lake cabin offers unparalleled access to one of the cleanest lakes in the southeast, Queens Lake, with miles of pristine shoreline at an elevation just over 3,000 feet. Our cabin is nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains, a quiet oasis at the edge of the Nantahala National Forest. The beauty of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains surrounds the lake and mountains.

The Queen’s Lake cabin is highlighted by a great room with vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, stacked stone fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, a fully stocked wine fridge with 18 selections, and a wealth of large windows revealing lake and mountain views.
Step outside in the fresh mountain air and take in the views of the lush, lake and mountain surroundings! Your private outdoor oasis is complete with a hot tub (seasonal) May to October, grill, and cabin side and lakeside fire pits, perfect for s’mores and stargazing.
Relax on the sleeper sofa and oversize chairs in the open and airy great room. On chilly evenings, cozy up around the fireplace while movies stream on the flat-screen Satellite TV. When it's time to retire for the night, retreat to one of the three bedrooms for a restful night’s sleep.

The Location:
Queens Lake is a pure, crystal clear lake reservoir on Winding Stairs Road. The lake is a fish hatchery stocked with trout and bass annually. It’s shoreline has a handful of private homes and cabins, as much of the area around the lake is owned and managed by the U. S. Forest Service and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

A short 10 minute drive from the cabin you will find the Nantahala river that tumbles down a picturesque mountainside drive in spectacular cascades and waterfalls, along with rivers and streams for trout fishing and world-class river rafting and kayaking on the Nantahala River. You’ll be in great company for fishing or playing on the water in one of the summer’s hottest spots!

Outdoor adventures always await in the Great Smoky Mountains. Lace up your hiking boots and try out a portion of the Appalachian Trail or take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) is a beautiful 25 minute drive from the cabin and offers guided outdoor services, whitewater rafting excursions, zip lines, jeep tours, restaurants, and more! Channel your inner cyclist at the Tsali Recreation Area boasting numerous mountain biking trails for the thrill-seekers.
If you're up for a day in town, drive 35 minutes northeast to Bryson City! Spend the day browsing the shops, alive with art galleries, restaurants, train depot, and the Heritage Museum. Take a train ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railways. While you're there, drive another 10 minutes to Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort to play the slots or bet on black, or spend the day at Santa’s Land Fun Park and Petting Zoo!

Florida Family Fall Getaway
A treasured vacation from start to finish - truly a trip we will never forget. The Nantahala area is beautiful beyond words and the cabin was one of the cleanest and most well-appointed we have ever booked (and we travel to NC a lot!) Do not hesitate on this booking. You will not regret it. Easy to communicate with property manager, days worth of activities nearby (hiking, rafting, fishing, GSMR, GSMNP, boating), we swam, fished and kayaked in the Queens Creek lake. The perfect vacation.

This property provides a great location for peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, and a spotless home to stay in. A true mountain cabin, beautifully decorated, comfortable, view of mountains and the lake. The lake is crystal clear, full of fish, and not crowded with boats and people. Very enjoyable. Wine frig and wine provided, fully stocked kitchen with all the things needed. Owner very responsive to all of our questions. I highly recommend this home.

Fantastic family stay
This home was perfect for our family of 6. It was spacious and secluded. Our boys love to fish and we come the area 1-2x a year and this cabin had everything we needed. Host was very responsive and even dropped off marshmallow sticks when we asked if any were available. Highly recommend!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi there, my name is Guy Passmore and I own the lakefront cabin. I am originally from Atlanta, but spent a significant part of my life growing up in western NC. I've fished, swam, and skied on this lake numerous times in my life, always with family and friends. We love it up there! After having 4 children, my wife and I decided to build a cabin we could stay in when we visit family a few times each year. We live in south FL, just north of West Palm Beach. We love the mountains, especially the area around Queens Lake. My great-grandmother originally purchased the 120 acre parcel in the early 1930's. She sold approx 100 acres of the property, allowing a dam to be built by the state and create Queen's Creek Lake. This provided electricity to the area for the first time.

Why they chose this property

The lake views are gorgeous all throughout the year. Our favorite times to go are in the summer and winter months. The temps are warm in the summer, but the humidity is low. In the winter, we often get some snow for the kids to play in.

What makes this property unique

We paid attention to the details with our cabin. My wife and I have traveled significant amounts with work and we appreciate great hospitality! This cabin has excellent quality furnishings, with over-size chairs, a leather queen sleeper sofa, super comfortable memory foam mattresses, a hand-made kitchen island and cabinetry with under-lighting, top level wifi connections with the fastest option available in our area. (We are on the Starlink list, coming soon). There are two fire pit areas, one that is lakeside and the other by the front deck of the cabin. We provide a wine fridge that is always stocked with red, white, and bubbles if you want the convenience without having to drive to town for wine.
