The house was spacious and perfect for two families. Was a little disappointed in the WiFi, but we didn’t use it much. Spent most of our time on the dock fishing and catching crabs. Caught some huge crabs, and a couple puffer fish! Also saw dolphins at dawn and some sting rays. The kids had a blast. Pet friendly too!
This house is the quintessential Rivah house. It is charming and spacious. The views are spectacular, water access is great, and house is well stocked. We had a great time singing, dancing, and watching a thunderstorm roll in. Thanks for having us!
We had an amazing stay in White Stone! It’s close enough to the shops, grocery and restaurants in Kilmarnock and Irvington, yet extremely quiet and peaceful. The private beach was the highlight of our stay. The sand was really nice and not mucky at all. The water was wavy enough for boogie boards some days and calm enough to float in. There was a little bit of a walk down some steps towards the beach as we expected from the photos, which was manageable for us. We had fun fishing off of the dock and caught quite a few fish. We also enjoyed kayaking to the bridge and into the inlet. My husband even kayaked with some dolphins! The house was perfect for our needs and had plenty of space for everyone to spread out. We loved the rustic feel and large windows. As an added bonus it was really nice not having to do laundry on checkout day or to worry about having to purchase hand soap and toilet paper upon arrival. They were very nice to communicate with, flexible with check in time and cleaned thoroughly. Even though it is a pet friendly rental it did not have any pet odor as some do. I do recommend bringing some beach chairs if you have a few people and a queen foam mattress topper if you like a softer mattress. I miss the beach already! We are looking forward to booking again in the future.

Hello Steph! Its Becky F.
I am delighted to hear your wonderful review. Thank you for coming and I'm thrilled that it seemed perfectly tailored for your crew. Please come back, and Thank You!
What a gem! Our families, kids included, had an incredible time! We did not end up bringing our pups, but they would have loved it, too! The house had everything we needed and then some. Ample space for all. The main level was a dream. The office was my favorite room and I wish I could take it home. The views, private beach, and dock were our selling points and they did not disappoint! The beach is sandy, shallow, and perfect for kids, pups, and lounging in the water. Kayaks were a big hit, our boys used them daily. The dock had perfect tie ups to keep our boat. No major luck fishing off the dock, but not for lack of trying. We took the boat out daily and had luck with crappy, mackerel, and flounder. Only keepers were mackerel, which were absolutely delicious! Everything you could want/need, if not at the house, is within a 10-15 minute drive. Compass Entertainment was a fun find for mini-golf and go karts! The Sandpiper is a must for dinner and drinks! This property really is a gorgeous “tree house” dream. We can’t wait to come back!
Second time staying - perfectly comfortable and low key on a spectacular lot with stunning sunsets. Hosts super available and accommodating. Love this place.

Anna, I've just taken over the renting of our house and did not learn how to 'rate guests' until now... I wish I had figured out how to give you a perfect rating sooner but there is a 14 day window. Anyway thank you for coming and your review.

Beautiful place. Helpful and communicative hosts. And extremely accommodating for our unique stay. We're very grateful to have stayed here. It was a blast!
Felt lots of family love here. Wonderful to be pet friendly, dock for boat, and a partially shaded beach with sandy bottom was delightful. Checked all our boxes! Any questions or needs were addressed immediately.
The property is tucked away in a peaceful, secluded spot where the only sounds you’ll hear are from nature itself. I especially loved the private beach, it was such a relaxing escape. We spent most of our time fishing off the boat deck, which quickly became our favorite hangout. We did come across a few bugs, but nothing unexpected for the setting. Overall, we had a wonderful time.
This family could not have been better guests. I thank them all and hope their visit didn't disappoint them. Yes, the location is primo even if the house is 30 years old.
This river house is very spacious. It is located on a lush, secluded lot with private beach and private boat deck. We had 9 guests. The open layout is ideal for socializing, and there are plenty of spaces available when you wanted more privacy. The location was a short drive to a beautiful local golf course, to the town of Urbana, and some great restaurants on the water. We rented a pontoon boat and cruised around the river, docking the boat right on the private beach. The owners have had the house in their family for years. They were very responsive to our needs. We plan to book the property again next September.

Phillip and friends, We look forward to having you all for another stay in September! Becky F.
Beautiful property, hope to come back. Very roomy, complete with all essentials.
Needed some airing out and vrbo didn't send the door code, but it all worked out and our group had a great stay.

Kim and gang sounded as if they stayed very busy with boating/kayaking camp while in White Stone. I am glad they enjoyed the house. It is a perfect place for six guests. Kim, we had a new roof put on. The old one was 28 years old and had developed a couple of very small leaks behind the walls. Now that it is replaced I hope the need to air it out won't be necessary again. My bad on the door code. Please come again.
Very interesting home with a lot of family history. Piano. Guitar. Amazing dining room table. Wonderful upstairs suite with other bedrooms two floors away so lots of privacy. Kitchen looked well stocked although we ate all our meals at a relative’s home. I didn’t cook at all. Beach is lovely!
Had an awesome time relaxing with family at this beautiful house on the Rapahannock River, and watching the Osprey family on their nest. Also enjoyed spending time playing both guitars & piano. Our host was always available - though we did not lack for anything. We will come back!

Steve and his family were wonderful appreciative guests and will be welcomed anytime. I loved reading that they relaxed, played music and enjoyed the water and wildlife-- as we hoped they would. The house is really an amazing place to be and it is lovely to hear such positive remarks.
The property is very secluded, You feel like the world is behind you. It is peaceful and quiet, The sound of nature will be the only symphony you’ll hear. I love the private beach area. We fished and caught some crab on the boat deck. The house is a bit old but that is where the charm is. There was some bug in the house but that was expected. Overall we had great time.
In love with this home! Cozy, inviting, spacious, and private! The home had so many special touches and accents that made us feel right at home. We gathered in the huge kitchen and cooked all of our meals, enjoyed cocktails on the deck at sunset, and slept late in the comfy bedrooms. Everyone’s favorite was the private beach. We floated, sat in the sand, and fished on all the nice weather days. If you’re looking for a relaxing family get a way this is it!

Robin, you all left no. trace of 8 people having been there! Thank you for your praise of the house. You utilized your time there EXACTLY as my family would. The beach and cocktails, watching the magnificent sunsets there, ........
Aahhhhhh! Thank you for coming and please come again.
The house is lovely and the view of the river is gorgeous - especially the sunsets. There are huge windows looking out into the the trees and the river. There was plenty of space for all 8 of us. The kitchen has everything you would need - even popover pans! The owners were wonderful: when the kitchen faucet broke, they fixed it immediately. The private beach is lovely too - although we couldn't really use it that much given it was December. It would be great to come back in the summer.
Amazing Getaway with on Private Riverfront (Perfect Weather)!
I had a wonderful long weekend at Becky's lovely home along the Rappahannock River. The house is large, comfortable, and obviously well-maintained. It's fully stocked with the necessities, so no need to bring linens and towels. The pictures do not do it justice. The home was just what my pup and I needed to get away from the city for a few days.
Becky is a welcoming and gracious host, and made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this stay, and also hope to visit again.

Tracy and her pooch were perfect guests. The house had no trace of a pet being there except I found a much loved and chewed on soccer ball in the yard.
If it is a favorite toy I will be happy to hold on to the ball for its return to you. I appreciate your positive remarks about the house. It is my family's pride and joy. Please come again!
