Enjoy your personal piece of paradise while staying at this private oceanfront oasis in Puako loop. Relax in the hammock on a lush yard while listening to the waves. Enjoy prime snorkeling or diving just steps away from the yard. Cool off or exercise in the lap pool. Unwind in the hot tub after being in the sun all day. Spacious oceanfront kitchen with plentiful appliances and barstool seating for 3.
Eating spaces include seating for 8 in the dining room or on the oceanfront lanai.
Living room opens to yard with amazing view, two sofas and armchairs, and two large ceiling fans.
Cozy, quiet den with printer, games/puzzles, and two armchairs facing the ocean.
TV room with two sofas.
Half bath on main floor.
Oceanfront master bedroom suite complete with large walk in closet, balcony, spacious bathroom, desk, and king sized bed.
Oceanfront queen sized bedroom with balcony and shared Jack and Jill bathroom.
Third bedroom with shared Jack and Jill bathroom has a queen bed with optional pull out twin trundle. Two small bonus rooms each contain a twin bed. Note that these are SMALL rooms that fit a twin bed and tiny nightstand. Ideal for kids.
An outdoor studio room with beach supplies offers a third full bathroom for showering after beach trips.

Puako is a quiet neighborhood with quiet hours from 9pm to 8am. Houses are typically not air conditioned, so people sleep with their windows open and get up with the sun (and birds!). Please respect our neighbors as they will call me if you are loud. If you are looking for a peaceful, rejuvenating getaway, you have found it here! Absolutely no guests who are not registered at booking or by talking to me before checking in.

This house was absolutely perfect for my Big Island vacation. Going to sleep each night to the sound of the waves crashing right outside my bedroom window and waking up to watch the turtles cruising around in the surf every morning was magical. The house is right next to Beach 69 and Hapuna beach, and the location is great for getting around the Kohala coast. I definitely hope I get to stay here again someday!

It’s difficult to describe anything as perfect these days, but this home was indeed that. I have no idea what the owner, whom I know only as Brooke, does for a living, but she could easily succeed in the hospitality business. The setting is magnificent, everything you need is there, and it’s all perfectly organized. We will be back ASAP!

Great family vacation!

This house was fabulous. The location is perfect. It is an older home, and in pretty good shape. The doors and windows are unique, and we loved them, they let through all the fresh ocean air to cool off the house. Brooke is a great hostess and very communicative and flexible. I gave 4 stars on the cleanliness only because there were lots of bugs, but with as open as the house is, I doubt it could be any better than it was. You and your family will love staying here! Very peaceful.

Our multigenerational group of eight had a magical Big Island stay at this house. The setting can’t be beat, and the layout of the house and it’s amenities take full advantage. Communication with the owners was excellent. Our only complaint is that we didn’t plan to stay longer.

Great house in a fabulous location If you like to snorkel this place is for you ! Beautiful and relaxing getaway!

We loved our time in Puako! Brooke and Scott were gracious and helpful at every turn and their home provides a stunning oceanfront experience. The house itself is charming and well-appointed, and the views are simply amazing! We loved snorkeling right in front of the home, waking up to the waves and palm trees and basking in the glorious sunsets. We made wonderful memories and hope to come back soon!

A wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home! The outdoor space is truly spectacular with a large lawn, lap pool, and access to the ocean. Our multigenerational family all enjoyed watching the three turtles that live in front of the house and my husband and I loved the amazing snorkeling (just keep going out until you see the underwater caves). It was a good base for visiting the great nearby beaches. The house is well stocked and we honestly enjoyed eating at the house versus venturing out for dinner (although we did that too). Our favorite beaches were Beach 69 and the Mana Lani Beach.

We are a family of 5 from the SF Bay Area. We have loved adventuring in Hawaii since our honeymoon in the mid-1990's. Purchasing this house was a dream we have been working towards for awhile now!

Why they chose this property

We discovered Puako about thirteen years ago and knew it was a special place. When we spend time there, time stops. We don't feel the need to leave the property to explore the marine life and lava. The Puako community and General Store provide a friendly setting to vacation. We fell in love with this house because it has so many unique design features and is in the most beautiful oceanfront location. We hope to be able to share the Puako experience with others who appreciate a quiet place.

What makes this property unique

Puako has the best snorkeling, paddle boarding/kayaking, turtle watching, and location on the Kona / Kohala coast. While close enough to visit any of the resorts or go up to Waimea for the Farmer's Markets or take an adventurous day trip to Hawi and the Kohala outdoor adventures, you can also stay at the house and feel a million miles from everything!
