About this property
Bica attic in the historical part of the district São Paulo, overlooking the Tagus
The Bica Attic is a bright, sunny apartment in Lisbon District São Paulo. It meets all the conditions that can be put to amenities and comforts of a modern home. And, differently than you might expect from an attic, it is very pleasant temperature thanks to a completely overhauled roof insulation. The apartment is located in the heart of Lisbon, "Bica", a historic district on the southern slopes of Lisbon towards Tejo. She is ideally suited for 1 or 2 couples, but is also well equipped child-friendly (2 double beds, 1 Snap-bed, cot available).
Bica is a picturesque district in the half of the roads are stairs - so hilly it is here. Through the center, the Rua da Bica Duarte Belo cuts, on a ropes drawn tram, a "Elevador" Cais Sodré at the foot up to the Bairro Alto (above) runs. This Elevador operates since 1892 and is classified in the meantime, as a historical object.
In Bica you are virtually "in the midst". Up where Calhariz the party mile Bairro Alto Bica and Sao Paulo separates, one encounters a busy life. Also you will find there plenty of shopping opportunities for everything you need to live. In Bica you are virtually "in the midst". Up where Calhariz the party mile Bairro Alto Bica and Sao Paulo separates, one encounters a busy life. Also you will find there plenty of shopping opportunities for everything you need to live. Turning to the other hand down, we come to Cais Sodre, the station of the "Linha de Cascais" that, a kind of light rail along the Tagus river goes to the flows in Cascais, the last stop in the open sea. From the apartment is about 50m upwards until Calhariz. Then right down leads in 2 mins to Largo Camões and in another minute, across the square as early as Café Brasileira in Chiado. Camões (pronounced Kameusch) and Chiado are certainly two names that you should remember, because everyone knows them in Lisbon, and in addition, they are popular meeting places. Always the legendary tram No 28 along the narrow streets of old Lisbon through to the parliament building in São Bento Turning to the Calhariz arrived but left, as you pass through. And who is there still adventurous and on foot, you can walk on to the cathedral in Estrela. A coffee or tea and one or the other piece "Pasteis" but definitely recommended.

We loved the location and space was wonderful. You can open all the windows and enjoy a sea breeze while you relax after wandering the hills of Lisbon. We were expecting some road noise based on reviews of the area, but it turned out to be very quiet. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was fully equipped if you want to cook for yourself. There also was a washing machine and clothes line if you need to wash any clothes. Really a great space and fully equipped.
Rosa was an excellent communicator and getting into the apartment was very easy. The apartment was really well equipped and had everything we needed. The location is great.
Rosa and Malik were exceptionally welcoming and helpful, always right there when we needed anything, always good-natured. The place itself is warm and comfortable and charming with cozy nooks off the main living/dining area, which felt airy and surprisingly spacious.Rosa and Malik provide many thoughtful touches. The beds are very comfortable and in excellent shape, no sagging at all. The shower has great water pressure, and the bathroom cabinet has loads of space.
We really enjoyed meeting one of the friendly hosts and having him point out all the things we needed to know about in the unit. The unit is very roomy and comfortable. Staying there felt like living in a real home. We enjoyed having a small deck to be able to sit outside. The location of the unit is extremely close to tourist areas in every direction. There is a grocery store just 1 block away. Everything worked great... the hot water in the bathroom, the kitchen, the TV, the WiFi. The beds and pillows were a little flat but we got used to it. We would definitely stay hear again if we had the chance.
Apartment was great. Spacious, full kitchen, washing machine, comfortable beds. Nice (tiny) view. Both Rosa and Malik were responsive. Only drawback was the noise at night. The street perpendicular to the one the apartment is on is quite a party street. Leaving the windows open at night was not an option. Luckily it was cool so we did not need to keep them open. I would however, hesitate to stay here when it’s warmer when a breeze would be necessary for comfort. Otherwise 5 stars across the board.
We had a lovely stay at the Bica Attic. Our host met us to show us how to get in and where our key was and gave us a brief tour of the space. We loved having the balcony off the kitchen to sit and rest after a day of sightseeing, and the alcoves were lovely spots for morning light with views of the river. We ate our meals out, but the kitchen was stocked with plenty of glassware, dishes, and silverware. The water pressure in the bathroom was strong, and the hot water came in fast. Bonus for any taller visitors, the showerhead is nice and high! There is a washer in the kitchen and a drying line off the kitchen balcony. The bedroom without the skylight was a bit stuffy when all the doors were closed overnight, so do plan on keeping at least one cracked open to allow for air circulation. If you normally use a fluffy pillow, be aware that the provided pillows are quite flat. Overall the space was lovely - a nice cross-breeze with a couple of windows slightly open meant that we weren't too warm at any point, and the blankets on the beds were more than enough for the night temperatures.
This flat overlooks one of the prettiest streets in Lisbon. It's a bit under-furnished, but its location right in the heart of the city makes it a great find. Highly recommended.
The apartment is in a great location. You're friends will be jealous of your for sure :D The beds were good and the shower had great pressure and temp. I really enjoyed the views from windows / balconies.
We enjoyed the lively energy of the Bica neighborhood and its ideal location. There are numerous restaurants, bars, and shops within close proximity of the property. With the Bica Funicular and the small bars, it may be noisy to some but the property was on the 3rd floor, had new windows which stifled out any street noise plus a quiet little patio facing the internal courtyard.
Well located, right in the middle of told town. Big apartment, well supplied with amazing views. No elevator, so you hato be able to carry your suitcase but no big deal.
The apartment is divine with stunning views from the lounge window and balconies. Comfortable beds, good living space and shower.
Central location with amazing restaurants within walking distance. Felt we were in the centre of the city
Would definitely return and recommend.
Rosa was so helpful
We stayed at Rosa’s apartment for a week and had a fantastic time. The place is clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The location is great, right in the middle of Lisbon. Despite this, we didn’t have any issues with noise at night. I would recommend the apartment to anyone, there’s easily enough space for 4 adults. The small terrace was a lovely bonus!

thanks Emily.
we also enjoyed to have you in the flat and you are, suffice to say, any time welcome back.
all the best to you
This is a very special location! Wonder view of the river and the Bica elevador! Everything is walkable from here. Great little balcony. Rosa was very responsive. (I had to look up the term ‘mansard’. It makes it extra special.)

A real gem in a lively neighborhood
We loved this apartment from the moment we set foot in it: everything was of high quality and lovingly decorated. It had the feeling of a real home and not just your standard IKEA set up. We stayed there during the feast days for St. Anthony and the neighborhood was one big party. The apartment however, while right in the middle of everything was a real peaceful oasis and with the window closed was quiet and private. Plenty of great food nearby, including a wonderful restaurant downstairs in the same building. We would definitely stay here again.

Gern wieder.
We really loved this apartment, very spacious for us - 3 adults for 5 nights in the heart of Lisbon. Well equipped kitchen and modern bathroom. Great views in different directions including boats on the river from the balcony where the sun shone during the afternoon. Nice 10 min walk up to parc principe real and 10 min down to cais do sodre and only 5 mins from Baxia chiado metro. Local supermarket, bakery, cafes bars and restaurants 3 min walk.
