About this property

Peaks at Windy Knob

Located at the top of Seven Devils with gorgeous view of Grandfather Mountain and Sugar Mountain ski slope. We are located just minutes from Hawks Nest Zipline and Snow Tubing, the popular Otter Falls, plus an easy drive to Banner Elk and Boone, or the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This newly renovated home has three comfortable bedrooms on the main level. The large main living area offers comfortable seating as well as a stone gas fireplace. A selection of books, puzzles and games are also available for you to enjoy during your stay.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all you will need to prepare any meal. The dining area seats six with additional seating around the bar area.

The main bedroom has a king bed with a private bath with a large jetted tub. The second and third bedrooms each have queen beds and share a full bath.

Additional upstairs space provides a great hideaway for the kids, or the adults! A large sitting area, and a electric gas logs. This area has two sets of bunk beds.

You will be wowed by incomparable views that include the slopes of Sugar Mountain and several other peaks-all from the large deck. With the gas fire pit, it is the prefect spot to enjoy the mountain vista any time of the day or the stars at night. The home has a large yard where you can play corn hole, relax in the out door swing or the ski lift swing all with panoramic views.

Our home is dog-friendly so please let us know if you would like to bring yours so we may add the appropriate pet fee.

This home has a paved access all the way to the driveway but 4wd or chains are highly recommended during winter months, especially during inclement weather.

Dwight, the host, was great! Reached out preemptively before the trip to make sure we knew how to check in and reached out while we were there to make sure everything was ok. Wonderful home!

We arrived in the evening and the home was easy to enter. Upon walking in, we were greeted with a lovely and charming, tastefully decorated home.Everything was well stocked and clean and the view was amazing! We will definitely return.

Clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. Quiet neighborhood at the top of a mountain. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. Wish we could have stayed longer - would definitely like to return for a longer stay!

Family graduation trip

We really enjoyed our stay and it was perfect for the graduation. Easy access to App State. Spectacular view! Right up the road from Hawks Nest where we have been and enjoyed in the winter. This trip we enjoyed a hike on the Otter Falls trail, 1 mile from the house. The home is lovely and outfitted with anything a family would need or want.

Spacious with grand views

The home/cabin was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The windy road up was worth it for the magnificent view! Such a nice neighborhood to walk in as well. We appreciated dealing with the owner, who thoughtfully called us beforehand to check in. All we had to do was buy a few groceries and we were all set. We highly recommend this property!

Home away from home.

This place is wonderful. The view is breathtaking. At the very top of Seven Devils. So far we have been coming here only in the winter time, but we can't wait to come during fall to see all the leaves change colors. The owner is very responsive, very nice. Can't wait to go back.

Mountain vacation

The cabin was perfect for our group of 5, with room (& beds) to spare. We enjoyed to outdoor activities near by along with the golf courses & shopping. The host made sure to check in with us prior to arrival & made sure to pass along all needed information along with a few other details. Spectacular views of 4th of July fireworks from the back deck! Hopefully, we can come again.

Amazing Stay

Great view

Recommended. It’s nicely decorated, comfortable, and the view is wonderful. The owner is extremely responsive to questions and concerns. Keep in mind that the main deck is located down a flight of stairs, though there are two smaller decks outside the master bedroom and living room. Getting to this mountaintop house requires driving on twisty mountain roads.

Great Mountain Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay on Seven Devils Mountain. The listing is exactly as described and the views are even better. (From the bunk room you get a nearly 360 view of the surrounding mountains.) The house came stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. Once you get down the mountain, there is quite a bit to do within a short drive - Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, etc. Our favorite hike was Otter Falls, which was right on our mountain (5 min drive from the house). Our 3-year-old loved splashing in the water. We also really enjoyed Grandfather Winery and Vineyard, which is just minutes from the bottom of the mountain.

Beautiful Property

This property was absolutely perfect for our family celebration! We were in town for our son's graduation from App State and wanted a comfortable space where we could all be together but also spread out as needed. Our family of 10 was very comfortable during our 3 day visit. The location was convenient for us and the home was extremely clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable and well stocked. The view is simply stunning and we enjoyed spending time on the deck talking and watching the fog roll down the mountain. Dwight and Ronnie were wonderful hosts who reached out a couple of days before our arrival to ensure all of our questions were answered. They checked on us as well and we found them to be friendly and flexible. They offered a simple check in and out process that was appreciated. Our entire family loved the space and overall visit. We look forward to booking again as soon as we find another opportunity to visit the area!! Thank you for everything!

House was great, very cozy and warm feel, sleeps 10, good size kitchen, primarily bedroom is huge, upstairs "loft" was amazing, views were incredible...overlooking Sugar mountain ski hill, host communication was excellent. We even had a crazy snowstorm when we were there and the roads were plowed every 4 hours. Definitely A.
