An excellent stay with unexpected amenities

My best stay at a VRBO I have had.The property had several unexpected benefits. Right at the top, I will put Zuzu, the host's awesome cat. If you are traveling and are missing an animal, Zuzu will take about as much gentle affection as one is willing to provide. If you are into birds, There are many of those around. I happened to be traveling during what is considered the 'Best Week in American Birding', so I expected to see some birds I don't usually see. Between the Merlin App and what I saw, I heard/saw 44 species of birds in the 4 days I tried. Most were right in the back yard including a really cool interaction with 3 Red-Headed Woodpeckers.The only actual birding trip I took was to the very near Wadewitz Nature Camp. It is open Business hours, so I was only able to fit in the 2-mile loop during one lunch, but seems like a really nice park, even though I went on Mowing day, which isn't super-great for nature trails. The drip coffee maker was in the listing, but I didn't notice that part so it too was unexpected and appreciated. Plus there was a fresh bag of coffee! Perhaps less sexy, but on the list for me, there was a separate bin for recycling. I didn't need to stress out about what I was needing to throw away while traveling and that is a big deal to me. Overall, a very pleasant stay. If you are uninterested in nature and are looking for an experience that is more like a hotel, it might not be your thing.

Beautifully Quiet

We needed a place to stay for an extended period (5 weeks) and found this place to be perfect! The quietness is one of the many wonderful things we can say! Very clean and fully equipped. Ed and Joy are wonderful, salt of the earth folks who are passionate about their property and very easy to talk to. We’d definitely love to return for another visit.

Just what we needed.

We were in town for a funeral and needed a place to set up base for a few days. The family farm was crowded, and hotel options weren't great. This was a perfect option. The beds were comfortable. Having a kitchen was nice coming back at night. The Internet worked well as I had work to do. Very happy with the stay.

Apt near wedding venue

We stayed here (vs. driving 45mins home) to give flexibility to my mother should she had needed to leave the reception early due to long-time medical issues. She was feeling great though :) We only used the space to put on our formal wear and sleep (no cooking, no eating, no TV, no swimming, etc...). The apt is a lower-level, cozy 2 bedroom apartment located in rural Waterford. Although you can hear some noise from the upstairs tenants, it is minor and the rotating fan created enough white noise to eliminate it. Very clean inside the home. Had coffee and creamer as well as shampoo available for use. The pool (I believe shared; looked very clean) is located further down the home (built into a steep hill) close to several vehicles under repair. If you want to use the pool you will need to be able to navigate stairs, FYI. Checkin was easy (door unlocked), however I did have trouble getting into contact with the owner upon arrival via phone & VRBO chat with a non-urgent question regarding one of our guests. (note - she did message back later that evening after we were at the wedding). All in all it is a clean, cozy apartment if you require a close location to an event in Waterford and don't mind paying the equivalent of 2 hotel rooms for the convenience the location provides.

Comfortable location

We were in town for a couple of Alpine Valley shows and this place was great. It’s twenty minutes to the venue through farm country. The place is well appointed for 4-5 guests, although bring plastic wrap, foil, and ziploc bags if you will need them. Make sure to book with the accurate number of guests, as there is a charge of $25 per guest per night that we were unaware of so after booking for two people, we were charged extra for the two additional guests even though it was under the 5 person limit.
