The house and property were the perfect size for our mixed group of friends. We loved the open space in the kitchen with direct access to the water. Parking was plentiful and just enough beds and bathrooms! Hosts were incredibly communicative and neighbors were friendly and quiet! Would highly recommend staying here.
Our family of 12 ranging in ages from 73 to 6 months had a wonderful time. It was a great house and very nice lake. Jim was a very attentive and considerate host. The description listed 2 bunk beds in one room, but even tho there was only one plus a twin, we managed.
The large kitchen, 3 bathrooms, flat backyard, fire pit and pier help make this a perfect place for a group outing. We enjoyed it very much. Kayaking, motor boating and star gazing.
The VRBO met our needs well with the 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 living areas. The kitchen was large so we were able to prep and serve meals easily. The patio was great for the little ones to play nearby. Close to the water for fishing and paddle boarding. We enjoyed our stay!
We needed a place close to Milwaukee for our children and grandchildren for a stay and wanted to have some relaxing fun on the lake. We enjoyed coffee watching the Sun come up each day of our stay. Jim was very helpful. We can’t wait to come back for another visit soon.
Of the 3 different places we have rented, this is by far the best.
We have 13 people in our family. Grandparents, kids and grandkids.
The house had plenty space and accommodated us all.
Kids swam, kayaked, fished, we played games in the back yard and a campfire in the back next to the lake. We will go back to this house again.
This house worked well for our family! The shallow beach was perfect for our grandkids and access to kayaks and paddle boards next door was a plus. Huge trees provided needed shade on 90 degree days. Bunkroom provided a space for kids. Stairs down to kitchen steep but ok. The multiple large tables allowed the 10 of us to eat together. Easy to communicate with Jim!
Absolutely wonderful long holiday weekend. Cleanest vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The home has everything you would want or need. We had adults and a couple very young children and there is something for everyone. We had great fun in the lake, around the bonfire, the patio and relaxing in the air conditioned spacious home. Jim is very communicative and responsive. We did not want to leave and can’t wait to come back.
We came in for the week from TN for our daughters wedding . We needed a big house for friends and family.
The lake house was perfect! Plenty of room for everyone and the view were wonderful! I haven't seen swans and so many ducks in along while. Thank for sharing your home.
Enjoyed our family reunion with three generations (ages ranged from 7 to 65 years.) Jim was very responsive to all our questions! Our family cooks and this is the first rental where the knives were decent! We loved swimming, kayaking and enjoying the beautiful lake view. Plus the house had plenty of space for indoor dining or board/card games when it rained. Comfortable beds! Our daughter, who has played piano for 16 years, loved the piano and we enjoyed her evening concerts. Since we were there on July 4th we had the bonus of seeing fireworks across the lake. We would return and bring our bicycles next time to ride the nearby bike paths.
My family had a wonderful week spending it at Wind Lake. We appreciated the large kitchen and eating areas, it was great for all of us to hang out together. The lake was so much fun and we enjoyed it every day. It was fun to sit out on the patio and watch the boaters out tubing and fishing.
The house was very clean and ready for us to enjoy our week. We appreciate having enough space for all 14 of us! My only suggestion would to update the pull out couch. It was a little worn and didn’t seem to be sturdy enough to use as a pull out bed to sleep on.
Thank you so very much for providing a wonderful week for our family, all 14 of us!!! We had a blast and hope one day we can do a repeat!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location
Pleasant but not perfect
Did not care for layout of house. That was not communicated. We assumed loft area was upstairs. You actually enter home into loft area and have to haul all your kitchen items down a long set of stairs. (So also lots of cross traffic) Husband has both artificial hips and this was taxing for him. One son needs hip replacement and hard for him too. Beautiful view of small lake. Small dock. Very shallow water. So if you have littles it’s great. Sandy bottom.
Neighbors pontoon rental is not in great condition. We’d been told we all could ride on it but that wasn’t possible. It went down pretty low with only 1/2 of us on it. (11 in our party) So that was disappointing. I know not owners fault but we’d likely not have rented without that option. It is a bit secluded. Not tons to do in area. Would be nice if owner provided some water toys (non motorized) It is close to Milwaukee and not far from Six Flags so location is ok.
We’d have liked less table and chairs and more living room space with a bigger tv. Tv was small and could only seat about 4 to watch. Upstairs main loft tv was tiny and did not work. 4 bedrooms were fine and bathrooms also good but futons were cheap and uncomfortable and I felt bad for the 2 who slept on them. One son had pullout couch and did not pull it out as he didn’t think it would be comfortable. No shades in lr or loft area either so bright early in mornings.
Very expensive rental for what was offered. Have stayed at much better places for less.
We had an amazing week long vacation at Jim's lakehouse. The home was perfect for our group of 10 people. Jim was great with communication. Definitely would recommend this vacation home!
Clean and very spacious house! Lake is conveniently close to the house which was so nice. We enjoyed the king size beds and amazing views out of the rooms. Jim was very responsive the entire trip, too which I really appreciated. Fishing and swimming off the dock was so fun. The lake is nice and shallow which was great for kids!
This was our 2nd stay at this beautiful location, and our family was so excited for our Yearly Family Vacay. Due to a family emergency we needed to change our dates. Jim went above and beyond, what one would expect from a host. Not only did he allow us the time we needed to regroup, he checked in with me often to make sure our family was doing ok. What could have been a miserable time was diverted and our grandkids have great memories. The home is absolutely wonderful, the neighborhood was safe and friendly. Most importantly our grandkids, ages 3 to 15 had a phenomenal time, swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Even when our 5 year old grandson, fell off the pier the water is shallow enough that he was safe. Our family would highly recommend this location. Plenty of Mother nature surrounding you, swans, ducks, ducklings, herring, fish, frogs, and the usual creatures. The house was comfortable and there are plenty of stores close by for any needed supplies. Thanks Jim for your kindness, we look forward to spending time at Wind lake again.
The house is in a great location, it was winter so we didn't get to use the outdoor facilities. We had a few move-in issues, but the host was extremely responsive and fixed all issues on our move-in date. Everything was spotless. The home is a little date and could use some updating. The furniture is older. The carpets have lots of stains, but again, I felt they were clean. Two small items to note (which would not stop me from renting again, but are good to know) they do not supply shower supplies like shampoo and the beds are not made. Everything was spotless and as pictured.
We rented at Wind Lake because the property looked beautiful and peaceful. It was both. We met family there. We had 7 people for 2 nights and my hubby and I for the other 2 nights. It was a beautiful and relaxing vacation. The property was very clean. We had 3 couples and each had a nice bedroom with a bathroom. There was another room with bunk beds. Communication with the owner was great. The beds were comfortable. There were swans in the lake which for a person from Arizona, you don't see too often. There's a cute little neighborhood bar / grill about .2 of a mile down the road which had a Friday fish fry and pool tables. It's about a 10 min drive from a Piggly Wiggly grocery store.
The highlights of this rental were the spacious back yard and wading beach. The house was well laid out and spacious. The owners were very responsive. Like every lake house we have ever rented there are some stairs to navigate when loading in and out. Wind Lake has its own character and charm. It is a bit on the weedy side, but after a few minutes of raking the weeds to the side on the beach it was the perfect place for our grandkids to discover what lake life is about. It was a bit busy on the weekend, but it was very quiet during the week. We brought our 16ft. fishing boat that provided many hours of delightful cruising. We were able to use the small pier for boarding. We brought our own mooring anchor for when it was windy. Wind Lake also proved to a wonderful lake for paddling our canoe. The fishing was very good! The water pressure was excellent, and the refrigerator was nice and big.
My family and I stayed at this property while getting together for a family wedding. It accommodated all our needs and the water was perfect for children to swim. A very nice property with a lot to offer.
