This is one of my favorite VRBO places I have stayed. This beautiful beach barn is a short walk to the small but lovely town beach and a short drive to a nearby state park. The owner sent a wonderful list of other nearby things to try and we had good food, great activities and overall a wonderful, relaxing time.

Sounds like you maximized! Thanks so much for choosing the barn. Hope to see you again— for maybe a little longer next time!
We were thrilled with the proximity to lovely town and quick walk to town beach. The house worked well, the kitchen was good for us as we tend to cook at home. The back yard in early morning with lots of bird song was a real treat.

Thanks John. Hosting you and your family was a pleasure.
The property exceeded our expectations. The pictures do not do it justice. It was very comfortable, close to a lot things. It was the perfect pace for us to stay as we visited our family in New Haven.

The barn was everything we had hoped! Creative beach decor, fire pit & Adirondack chairs, grill.
Lizette & Tom were very welcoming and helpful hosts! Fantastic place; short walk to beach; roomy bathrooms & comfortable bedrooms; fire pit and grill made it fun.
Good variety of channels on TV.
Very clean; good parking.
Highly recommend! We hope to return!

Thanks Mary Jane. You and your sisters know how to have fun. We hope to see you again! Lizette & Tom
We selected The Barn for it’s proximity to family as well as to the shore. Clinton beach is a 5-10minute walk and has a good playground/obstacle area for the pre-teens. We made a day of Hammonasett’s different beaches and nature center; and even hopped the train around the corner and did a day trip to NYC!
This property was by far one of the best rental properties we have stayed in. My kids did not want to leave. The Barn is very spacious and Lizette has thought of everything for what seems to be every type of traveler. If the property is available on a return trip to Clinton, we will not hesitate to stay here again!
The barn was clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. Lizette was really helpful and responsive. We appreciated her sharing suggestions about restaurants, beaches and places of interest in the area. It was a short walk to the town beach and a great neighborhood for morning walks or runs. Overall we loved our stay. Thanks Lizette!

Thanks for the kind words Scott. Your group was great, but your stay was far too short. We.hope to see you again.
The barn was a wonderful place for a vacation: it has plenty of room, it’s comfortable and cozy, very clean, the kitchen has everything we needed to cook meals (there’s also a grill), and it is situated on a quiet street a short walk from the Clinton Town Beach. Lizette was super helpful. She provided clear instructions in a timely manner for check in and check out. She also sent us a six-page list of places to eat and things to do in the area, which we found helpful.

Mark. You were the absolute best first guest. Hope you saw some great birds while on the coast. So glad you enjoyed your stay.
Love at 1st sight! The rustic decor was a success with grandparents and teenage grandkids.
Lizette is a great host, welcoming and informative.
Great beach access from the barn, a few minutes' walk and all necessary beach gear was provided.
The barn is in close proximity to other beach towns, restaurants and grocery stores. Clinton is a nice town.
We all enjoyed our stay and wish we could do it again in the future.

James and Lise, you were the perfect guests, and your grand-kids are awesome. You are welcome back any time!. Thanks for leaving the barn in tip top shape!
We spent 4 days at this great barndominium . We were met by the host and she showed us the place also there was a bottle of wine and charcuterie board for us on arrival. The place had anything you would need to prepare a meal if you cared to. Response time was great from owners. If you want a place around 1 block from beach heres your place . Thanx again for the hospitality again.

Thanks Pat. Glad you enjoyed it. And come back anytime for more nature experiences!🙀
The communication from Lizette was brilliant from the moment I booked the property. The property itself is beautifully and stylishly furnished and decorated. It is clear that a lot of thought and work has gone into creating this lovely holiday home. The house is at the rear of the owner's home on a quiet residential (dead end) street within 2 minutes walk of the beach at the end of the road.
We were there to relax for the weekend and we were able to do just that; using the well equiped kitchen, gas barbeque and amazing washer & dryer! We had planned to use the firepit, but didn't get round to it, but it looked brand new (or very well cleaned!).
Many thanks also for the little extra touches such as the welcome card, bottles of bubbly and the chocolates!
Would highly recommend.

Fantastic property!! Great location and beautiful, comfortable - the perfect spot for our girls beach vacation! We hope to go back and spend time at the barn again. The hosts were so helpful and provided a great list of things to do during our stay.
Definitely recommend this for any gathering!
The hosts are welcoming & so very nice. The Beach Barn is charming, beautifully decorated, super comfy beds & pillows * very important *. With the warm weather we used the outside grill & enjoyed the deck. Lizette even supplied a cooler & ice packs for us to use when we visited a winery. We reallly appreciated it! I highly recommend the Beach Barn & if our travels bring us to Connecticut again we would love to stay there once again!! Thank you so much for your hospitality 💜💜💜

Chris. I’m so glad you fit your winery visit into your busy schedule. It was a pleasure hosting you and your family!
Everything about this stay was perfect. Lizette was very hospitable and willing to work with our schedule, even when I needed to adjust our dates...more than once. She provided a thorough list of places to visit and things to do based off different interests and local favorites. The Barn was so cozy and very well stocked to accommodate its guests. We enjoyed a fire outside and had plenty of options of board games to play. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and there is also a grill we used to grill steaks. They are within a short walking distance to the beach and the cute little town of Clinton.
If there is one thing I could recommend, plan to stay for at least a week because you will definitely want plenty of time to kick back and take in this little corner of heaven.

Katy. Your group was a dream. You left the barn just as you found it. So glad you enjoyed your stay!
We were visiting our familys' home town and wanted to be walking distance from the water. The Clinton town beach and park
are small but sweet. We had a couple of lovely sunsets.
The walk from the barn was easy and the street was just a cascade of springtime flowers.
The "Beach Barn" had the character of New England we love
yet all the modern simple decor. Come summer time this place will be more of a gem simply due to access to walk to the beach without the Connecticut shoreline parking fees!
We are very experienced VRBO guests and the most important asset is the communication with the host.
Lizzette was wonderful and gracious and responded quickly.
We loved the private back deck and were able to sit with our drinks there a few nights.
It was a a very lovely place to base our trip back east to visit family and friends.

We had a lovely autumn stay at the "beach barn," which was clean and spacious. The hosts were very accommodating and everyone in our group came away happy with the atmosphere and modern facilities (kitchen, bathrooms, etc).

Thank you Claudia. Your group “wins” for knowing how to have a great time. Hope you think of us for your next friends gathering. Remember, the train to NYC all the way to Boston is walking distance away.
Wonderful stay, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, location was awesome, walk to beach or walk to town. Hosts were very quick to respond to questions and had wonderful suggestions for things to do. It was the little thoughtful touches that really made it special though, a big big bottle of water in the fridge (and adult beverages) a bowl of chocolates on the table, coffee pods and sugar. All the little things that you need before you have a chance to get out to shop. Highly recommend this house and these hosts!

About the host
Hosted by Lizette Nigro
My family has been enjoying this property for 9 years now. We love the walks to the beach, walking to town for breakfast, and all the great fairs, festivals, restaurants and other activities the shoreline provides. But maybe best of all is simply opening up the windows and breathing that salty air. Everyone sleeps great here!
Why they chose this property
No matter what you want to do, this place is close to everything. Kayak, go on a fishing charter, hang out on the beach, go to great waterside restaurants, go outlet shopping, hike, go to a winery... and do it all without leaving town. Great neighboring towns of Guilford, Madison, Old Saybrook and Essex are all within 25 minutes! Just a bit further, and you can visit CT's casinos, Mystic, and so much more! Even so, hope for at least one rainy day. The beach barn is so comfortable, we hope you will hang out, make a great meal (or get delivery), pop some corn and play board games.
What makes this property unique
The entire downstairs is one room. You and your guests can watch the game on tv, play a board game, cook in the fully stocked kitchen and you will all be together in this fully renovated barn/cottage. And... you are only steps from the town beach with great walking paths along the water.
