Wonderful stay!

We had a great short trip to the firefly cottage. We were up for a family reunion so we didn’t get to spend too much time at the cottage, but we did manage to squeeze in some fishing! The house was very clean and very well stocked. Had everything we needed. Wendy and Mike have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome. The welcome basket of goodies and wine was a very pleasant surprise! Communication with host was great as well!

Beautiful cabin with a beautiful view. Place was immaculately clean and charming.. Host were friendly and left us a gift...Fishing off the dock was excellent, caught bluegill, bass and one monster carp. Conveniently located near everything.

Great property for a relaxing getaway.

My husband and I were golfing at Garland and wanted to float on the Ausable the day before. Great location to both places. We stay in VRBO’s all over the country and have to say this is one of the best properties we have rented. The extra amenities were so special and greatly appreciated. Bottle of wine to drink while watching the sunset. Snacks we could take on the river and golf. Best of all fresh bread and cinnamon rolls from the local bakery. So amazing

Anniversary Getaway

The cottage was absolutely beautiful! We spent a lot of the time kayaking and fishing on the Mio Dam Pond. Close to town if needed, but also far enough way. Perfect home away from home! 10/10 recommend! We will be back!

Nice cottage on Mio pond

We had a great time using the Firefly cottage on Mio pond as a base for spending a few days paddling the Au Sable river and catching up with friends. The property is nicely outfitted and we found everything we needed for our stay. Even the bird feeders were filled! We hope to return to spend some more time on the Au Sable.

Peaceful Getaway

Lovely place- clean, thoughtfully put together with generous extra treats as well. Beautiful views and direct river access on a lake-like section (near a dam) with use of owners kayaks. Wendy and Mike are kind and responsive hosts. We plan to return!

Weekend stay

We enjoyed our stay even with rain most of the full day we were there. Host was great and property was as described. Roads to property were rough but worth it to get to the Firefly Cottage. Fishing was not great for us but likely due to weather not location. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful experience

Everything about our experience with this location was wonderful. Everything was super clean, the wine and coffee bar were amazing, and the fishing and kayaking were enjoyable. Our hostess, Wendy was very friendly and when we needed assistance she was there to take care of the situation promptly. If you choose this location, you will not be disappointed!

This cottage was very warm and inviting with the spectacular view from the back deck and sun room to the cozy fireplace and amazingly comfortable beds. We all slept so well. Wendy was outstanding and very responsive and accommodating. We would visit again, we felt at home and the space was very roomy.

Charming Cabin!

Wendy really thought of everything! From tasty local treats to beverages on hand and bathroom necessities that went above and beyond. She even leaves games, towels, and coloring books for kiddos. This cottage is amazingly cozy and adorable. It is gorgeous inside with a fireplace that makes it so homey. Wendy has everything you would ever need during your stay. Fabulous!

Visited the area to take my nieces on a trip down the river and wow, what a perfect location for our needs. Beautiful scenery out the back, incredible amount of classy touches inside to make your stay memorable, very clean and well-appointed. Wendy was a wonderful host and left several goodies for us to enjoy and for the girls to play with. Completely exceeded my expectations in every way and we would stay again in a heartbeat . Cute little Cottage

This truly was a cute little cottage and we absolutely loved all the special touches that were available to us. The Firefly cottage was adorable and so well put together. My mother in law lives local so it was a perfect place to allow our family to hang out together. The only thing I found disappointing was that we were on the lake and it really wasn’t the lake experience I thought we would have. We really couldn’t swim. I had hoped to be able to float and hang out more in the water. No where does it say that it is good swimming but I guess I just assumed since there were kayaks and a dock. We went out for the day to a beautiful beach and visited Traverse City which was about 1 1/2 hours away. In the end it all worked out. Other than that I would say this truly was a successful rental. We would stay again.

Peace on the river side

As soon as you walked up the path to the cottage you felt the welcome! Wendy and Mike went over and above with their thoughtfulness and comfort for our stay. Would recommend to anyone. People with small children need to be careful of the hill to river but was explained in information before even renting so no surprise. Perfect for sister’s weekend.

Warm & restful home away from home

Comfortable. Relaxing. Restful. Beautifully situated. The hosts thought of everything! We felt so well taken of. It’s like the whole house was inviting to sit, relax, take in the view, while enjoying good chat with a glass of wine (or coffee or tea …whatever your pleasure). The house provide activities and amusement for all ages. We kayaked, played games, watched movies, and enjoyed the sunset on the au sable.
