The location is very convenient and parking was easy, which made getting around simple. The house is basic, with older furniture and appliances. The sofa in the living room could use repair, and it would have been nice to have essentials like shampoo provided.The main challenge we experienced was with check-in, as we didn’t receive the instructions beforehand and had to spend some time reaching the host to get access. Once inside, the stay was fine, but smoother communication and a few updates to the home would make the experience much better.

Good place to relax

We decided to take a week off in Key West. Marilyn was extremely accomadating as our dates changed. We had a slight communication glich as emails didnt get read. Once we connected, it was great. The house was just right for 2 people. It was a quiet neighborhood, so we got a lot of sleep! We could have walked to most activites, however im waiting for knee replacement surgery, so we drove downtown and to all sights.

Vrbo made communication a little complicated at first, but when I spoke to Marilyn she made everything easy. She’s an amazing host with a beautiful home. If you get the opportunity to book it you won’t regret it.

Fabulous host!

The property was just as described and a very quiet neighborhood. Felt like i lived there for those few days. It is a positioned equal distance from everything! Host communicated well, even helped me recover a necklace i left in the cottage!

Another Great One

We always stay at this location when available. There’s another one at the rear of the property and it was a good spot but we’re spoiled by this one. We’ve stayed here so much it is almost like a second home. It’s well appointed, the shower is huge and the place is cozy and has the lived in feel to it. There’s plenty of basics in the kitchen, full size fridge and stove, the bed is outstanding and adjustable, and there’s even beach chairs to use while staying. Marilyn is a great host and super responsive. She makes sure you’re notified of anything or takes care of issues as soon as possible if something comes up. We had no problems and will definitely be back soon!

Location, location, location

This property sits in the perfect spot for all that you desire to do. You’re only a shorty walk to the beaches, local Cuban sandwich shops, Duval St or the marina areas. The place meets every need and is perfect for a couple to experience all that Key West offers. It’s a wonderful place and the owner is a gracious host and very responsive.

Key West Winter GetAway

This is our second time staying at this location. We love Key West and the location of the house. The house is close to all the action but located on a nice quiet street. It is an ideal location for us since we travel from the house to all locations on the island via bikes. The house has a nice front porch where we can watch all the action on the street and the unit is perfectly sized for the two of us. We plan to visit again.

Cute place.

The mattress in the bedroom needs to be replaced. You can't really sit on the futon. Need another chair. Very clean and the front porch was a great place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee.

Quaint spot

Great location if you want to be close to duvall street. Small but cute. Bed was very comfortable with a controled raising of head etc....very suprised. Lots of supplies if u wnt to cook in but we went out. . water pressure in bathroom sink was not good...shower was. Ac kept us cool....when there but we were not there much....loud but did the job. Like most of key west u r close to your neighbor so u can hear everything. Wish the host would include maybe bikes to use while there....only due to parking limited.....we rented a golf cart and used it most time....parking is limited....but where isnt? lol reasonable off season rates....however during season there are nicer places for same amounts per night. ...our towels had brown stains...upon arrival. so went to buy our own towels...never used the ones she had on bed upon arrival. Other than that....the porch was nice to sit out on but tabke wasnt level and coukdnt drink wine on porch...needs some improvements but overall a cute close spot to duvall. if u dont want to be close to duvall...for the stay.well an updated location would be nicer. Thanks

Property was fine; Host not so much

There was nothing especially wrong with the property, but the host was not shall we say neighborly. We had booked for two of us, and ended up traveling during the Blizzard of '22 and were not even able to get there until 3 days after our initial booking (we felt lucky to have made it at all). We thought all was well and we would just make the most of the time we had left but got an 11pm text from the host threatening to keep our "deposit". After several texts asking her for clarification, she finally replied three days later - but first asked us to confirm we had electricity (we knew the people in the unit behind us had no hot water and their fan wasn't working). If you stay here, know that: ~There is NO additional bedding - no extra blankets, so if it's winter/cold, you're using space heaters which are stifling in such a small area ~There is no broom for the sand ~Host may tell you there is no cleaning fee, but will claim to not know how to refund it when she charges for it, and then you will wait 10 days for her to send a check (yep!!) ~There is one small kitchen towel so you'll either be laying out your dishes on paper towel or drying them with a wet towel ~The grout in the kitchen counter tile is missing so yep, kinda gross germs (but nothing awful) ~There is rust on the kitchen faucet ~There are two closets you may see in the pix of the one bedroom but there is no room in them - the host has them packed full of her stuff. So if you have a big suitcase, one can fit under the bed but otherwise you'll be looking for a place to store your luggage (it's a very small unit) ~If you park your bikes on the metal bar in front, expect an 11pm text from the host threatening to keep your deposit (just be sure you know WHICH metal bar she wants you to use!) ~She is charging market price but is not investing any of it into the property itself. It's quite dated. Overall we would not have left a poor review (and we never have before, on VRBO or any other site) except for the host's really unfriendly attitude. It was Christmas for crying out loud, we had been through horrendous travel, were days late stuck in airports while her unit was unused (nights we paid for). Only on the last day did she text like 5 times because she was worried I'm sure about her review; her explanation for her threatening text was a "family argument" but she sure didn't care that we had been through hell getting there. We loved the location though! Dead center of the key.

Our second time, staying in this little house. Nice neighborhood, within a mile walk to our snorkeling excursions and Duval street for dinner. Owners are quick to respond to our questions. Easy check in and check out processes. Will stay here again the next time we are in key west.

We really enjoyed our stay once again. We’ve started here many times and there’s far too many positives to list here. A few highlights at the great property owner, the location, easy to get to and from, comfortable bed, large shower area, and amenities anyone needs for a stay. The neighborhood is quiet and many options nearby like laundry needs and a great cup of Cuban coffee and sandwich while you wait. This place has all you need with a full kitchen, futon couch if needed, and starter supplies for the kitchen or bath and all this without the ridiculous pricing some owners charge for less of a place. Everything you want to do in Key West is outdoors so all you need is comfortable and usable space to stay and refresh.

Great place to stay

Simple check in, clean, quiet, and cozy. Comfy beds and fluffy towels. Within walking or biking distance of just about everything. Loved having my morning coffee on the front porch.

Okay, but not really that good

This is a fine low budget place to stay, especially if you intend to spend no time at the house lots of things were just not quite right here Simple things like the oven doesn’t work or the patio furniture is broke or no batteries in the any clocks in the house or the fact that just about every thing with an electric cord was unplugged,or no Kleenex or holes in the shower curtain, strong musty smell that we couldn’t get rid of and silly us, we thought there would actually be soap in the house, but there wasn’t we had to go buy our own.

If you want to get the feel of what it's like to live in Key West and like to stay in a homey environment complete with kitchen, living area and either deck or front porch. This is a good match for you. It will accommodate 4 people but I think it works best for 2 adults simply because it is about 500 square feet.
