Memorial Day weekend stay

Really enjoyed this cottage and location! Easy to get to Acadia and bar harbor, but southwest harbor in itself was a great location. Walking distance to great breakfast, dinner, and shops.

Wondèrful

This cozy little cottage had the perfect location with a gorgeous view of my favorite garden in SWH and the harbor beyond. It is a very short walk to restaurants and shops. We loved having fires in the woodstove. The kitchen was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. We definitely want to stay again!

Easy little spot w/ great hosts

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was the perfect spot for my family to explore Mount Desert Island from. Walking distance to breakfast spots and ice cream, 5 minute drive to Echo lake and hiking, and a 30 min drive to Bar Harbor and some of the popular spots in the national park. Marilynn and Gary were great hosts with great recommendations for my family which includes a 5 yr old and young dog.

Southwest Harbor is the place to be!

This is a lovely little cottage right in the heart of Southwest Harbor. It’s conveniently located -restaurants and shops all close by and it’s fun to just go out the door and find nice places to walk. Hiking areas are a short drive from here and other attractions, including Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor are all within a 20-minute drive. This cottage has a very nice front deck for those times when you might want to relax and read a book or plan your next outing during your stay. Enjoy!

Beautiful little Maine cottage! A hidden gem.

Our stay was very pleasant ! A cute little cottage. It was clean and had everything we needed. The location of the cottage was very close to the center of southwest harbor so that you could walk into the center of town for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Marilyn and Gary (hosts) are next door. They greeted us and gave us some good tips for biking Acadia Park and some good suggestions on where to eat. Wonderful. We would not hesitate to stay there again!

Loved our cottage stay!

Decided to take a quick Acadia trip (our happy place) with my 19 & 22 year-old daughters before the younger one heads back to college. We love staying on the quieter side of the island, and since we needed to travel with our dogs, this cottage was the perfect find. Marilynn is incredibly responsive - she answered questions almost before I asked them, lol. The cottage was sparkling clean, the beds really comfortable, and the deck was a beautiful spot for some pre-dinner apps & drinks. Easy walk into town and helpful suggestions in the welcome binder. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

We'll be back!

My daughter and I both loved our time in Southwest Harbor. The cottage was perfectly located and had everything we needed for a wonderful week. The owners, who lived right next door, were strangers when we arrived but friends just one week later. We appreciated the many ways they took a real interest in all that we were doing, and their advice about the area was very helpful. Among the many things we did, our favorites were driving to the top of Cadillac mountain on a beautifully clear day, taking the ferry to Schoodic peninsula (where a seagull stole my peanut butter sandwich) and eating in Winter Harbor, shopping in Southwest Harbor, and watching for wildlife while aboard the ranger-narrated cruise from NE Harbor to Little Cranberry Island. We already have plans for what we hope to do next time we go, which we hope will be soon, and for a longer stay!

Porch with a view : Location is fabulous!

What a sweet little property in a GEM location! We adored the cottage AND being about to walk to the hamlet of SW Harbor for coffee, pizza, and gourmet dinners. Getting to Acadia was easy & about 30 minutes away, but several hiking options were just minutes away. The owner of the property was very friendly and provided very helpful tips on the area. The kitchen was super stocked if you choose to cook in, but trust me-- there are sooo many good places to eat, why bother? Our favorite thing about this place: late in the afternoon, after a long day of sightseeing and hiking, we enjoyed "happy hour" on the front deck. The sun hits it just right and the patio furniture is great for lounging or having a glass of wine! We would definitely stay here again. Check out: happy hour sitting on the porch of The Clarmont, breakfast at Common Ground -a charity run breakfast spot that accepts ONLY donations for what you eat! Little Notch Bakery has fabulous pizza and The Sip restaurant has great food AND service.

It was fine. A good location and the beds were comfortable, but definitely dated. Couldn't hang out on the living room to chill after a long day hiking, its outdoor furniture that's been worn thin and incredibly uncomfortable But if you are looking for bare bones with nice owners this will check that box

The location alone is a wonderful reason to rent this place - so close to Beal’s, we ate there twice, and a lovely neighborhood for walking, with town just steps away. But on top of that, it was a good and comfortable home base for exploring the area. We had all we needed, and loved that we could stay with our dog.

Over rated

The location of this Southwest Harbor cottage was convenient to Acadia, some restaurants, and minimal shopping. Views of the harbor were limited by waterfront homes. The cottage could use some updates, including better lighting, the furniture was not comfortable, and minimal supplies were provided. In general, the site was rough, overpriced and had a musty smell.

My adult son and I spent a week at this location. We enjoyed the close proximity to the town and the ability to walk in town for coffee or dinner. The home itself was very clean and the bedrooms were very comfortable. We wished the living room furniture was more comfortable. Hosts were great!

Quiet street location; easy to walk to both dining and shopping. Also easy to drive to other areas of interest. Hosts had lots of books and other literature about the area available to read; they were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this cottage.

Nice Cottage in Great Location

My family throughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. There were no issues with the checkin/checkout process, and the description and pictures of the cottage were accurate. The cottage is within walking distance to downtown Southwest Harbor, and less than a half hour to the loop and Bar Harbor. The cottage was the perfect size for our family of four, and the owners did a nice job highlighting some places to eat/visit in the welcome book. I would not hesitate to stay there again!
