Enjoyed our stay! Perfect for 3 of us on a girls trip. Cottage was cozy & nicely decorated & very clean. Beds were very comfy. Perfect location in Southwest harbor. Walkable to shops, restaurants & Island Explore bus. Excellent recommendations given by the host. The Popovers at the Common Good soup kitchen were much better than Jordan Pond house. Enjoyed shopping in Bar Harbor, sunset sail cruise, hikes at Acadia & Cadillac Mt., Bass harbor lighthouse & lobster at Thurston’s.

The cottage in Southwest Harbor is in a perfect location to enjoy Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. It is on the quiet side of the island within walking distance of Beal's Lobster Pier and The Drydock Inn and Cafe making for amazing dinners after long days of hiking and exploring. Access to the park and trails is easy avoiding much of the traffic on the "famous side" of the island. The cottage was clean, welcoming and well stocked. Marilynn is an excellent host. Communication was great from start to finish. Access was easy, keys were on the kitchen table! Highly recommended for a stay in Acadia / Bar Harbor!

The property offered all the amenities that we wanted & expected. Beds & pillows were most comfy. TV was a little glitchy but with persistence we could get it to work. Home has a mold smell which is more prevalent in the bedroom (and especially in the clothes closet) with the queen bed. I think the smell is coming from behind the wall in the closet as there is a small opening into that closet.

Memorial Day weekend stay

Really enjoyed this cottage and location! Easy to get to Acadia and bar harbor, but southwest harbor in itself was a great location. Walking distance to great breakfast, dinner, and shops.

The location of this property is excellent. We were able to walk down to see the harbor, walk to dinner, it's close to the trails we wanted to explore in SW Harbor, a great location on the "quiet side". We had a great dinner at Beal's (walking distance) and took an amazing lobstering and seal boat tour out of Dysart's Marina, down the street. We would definitely stay in this area again.The house itself was okay, we spent minimal time there as we were out exploring everyday. There were a few closets which would have provided great storage but they smelled musty/mildewy so we did not use them. The bathroom is very much needing updates. It was not the most comfortable but again the location was amazing.

I am sure you were very upset that we did not allow your dog to stay in the cottage as we do not allow pets! I am sure you will have a much more positive experience in the future if you are honest about who is in your party at the time you make your reservation..

The location alone is a wonderful reason to rent this place - so close to Beal’s, we ate there twice, and a lovely neighborhood for walking, with town just steps away. But on top of that, it was a good and comfortable home base for exploring the area. We had all we needed, and loved that we could stay with our dog.

Lovely stay in convenient, quiet location

Tidy, clean, very convenient to Southwest Harbor without being in the thick of it. We were in Acadia in the heart of tourist season and yet we didn't feel the brunt of it in this cabin.

Quiet street location; easy to walk to both dining and shopping. Also easy to drive to other areas of interest. Hosts had lots of books and other literature about the area available to read; they were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this cottage.

Feeling at home in Southwest Harbor

Our family enjoyed our week at the cottage. Marilynn is a perfect hostess and her cottage fit all our needs. Southwest Harbor is a perfect getaway. Great restaurants and the location is ideal. Would recommend to any small family looking to escape for awhile.

Lovely cottage

We so enjoyed our three night stay. The charming and clean cottage was perfect for exploring Acadia and only a short walk to the beautiful town of Southwest Harbor. We will be back again!

Mini vacation
