Very nice, comfortable, modern and simple. Had a well stocked kitchen, hot water comes quickly. Took about 25 min to get to Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mtn, and Jordan Pond, etc. but isn’t a bad drive. Exploring the town of Southwest Harbor was an added treat.Would stay here again!
Very easy checkin lovely house, had everything we needed. Comfortable. Love that side of the island, quiet, not as crowded, very close to SW Harbor. We had a blast
The house was great for 6 of us. It was clean. The beds are comfortable. Very quiet. Fully stocked kitchen with Viking range. 30 minutes from Bar Harbor. 20 minutes from mots parts of Acadia National Park. A couple miles from restaurants and town. Must try Clark Point Cafe for breakfast and pastries. Great place to stay!
The home was perfect. We enjoyed coming home from a long day and hanging out on the front porch. We sat and enjoyed the breeze and talked. Beds were comfortable.
We were very comfortable in this beautiful, immaculate, well equipped home. Location is great, about 1/2 hour from the main entrance to Acadia and close to the town of Southwest Harbor. The hosts were very accommodating and got back to us very quickly on the few questions we had. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself.
I stayed here over labor day weekend with a group of 5 friends. It was extremely clean and equipped with everything you could need from towels to kitchen supplies. The location was perfect, with bass harbor lighthouse and delicious restaurant with a view called Peter Trouts just down the street. It was an easy drive into Bar Harbor and all the sites of Acadia national park (30mins) even for the holiday weekend. The bonfire was nice and could see the beautiful night sky with many stars just from the backyard! We were also able to drive right down the road for the sunrise one morning. The host was extremely helpful and responsive with recommendations/allowing for an early check-in. I would highly recommend this place for your stay on MDI! Thank you to the hosts for a memorable trip.
The hosts were very responsive to my requests, and the house was very clean and in good condition. Our only problem was that the basement stairs did not have a handrail. One word of advice: take luggage through the back door. It is much easier.
The property was quaint and peaceful while being close to Southwest Harbor attractions, quiet side hiking, and only a 30 minute drive to Bar Harbor and and the main Acadia attractions. The property was clean and spacious. It was truly a wonderful time.(All photos are taken from the trails near the property).
This was my first time in Maine and it was a great experience. The house was perfect, felt like home. The location was awesome, close enough to the busy Bar Harbor and park entrances but remote enough to relax. Ian was quick to respond to any question I had. Would definitely recommend the sunrise hike up Cadillac Mountain!
We had a wonderful stay at this very clean and comfortable house. The window AC’s were definitely appreciated! Check-in was convenient and easy to follow. Convenient access to Acadia National Park and Bar Habor. Bathrooms were bright and clean, with lots of hot water available for us (including 4 teenage boys!). We appreciated the laundry detergent and all the clean towels made available to us. We enjoyed a relaxing evening around the fire pit on our last evening, under a clear sky of stars. Just a few suggestions to make this rental spectacular- a laundry basket would be helpful, since laundry facilities are in the basement. If there was one, we didn’t find it. Also the cookware could use an update. Otherwise, the kitchen was pretty well stocked and had everything we needed. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable!
Nothing beats MDI and staying at Ian’s place was wonderful
The location is perfect to access all the fun MDI has to offer.
Eating out can be a pocket punch so the well appointed kitchen and grill are a plus
Can’t wait to go back
Nicely renovated 2-story farmhouse close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Beds are comfortable, although smaller bedrooms lack storage space for clothes. nice spaces inside, including large dining room with a table for 6 and a sunroom. House was clean with lots of windows.
The house is very nice and clean. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Minor complaint would be the outside shrubs around the house were overgrown and some weeds could be pulled.
This home was great for a quiet family vacation. The kitchen had all the essentials and the home was very clean. I would definitely recommend this property.
SW cottage was very spacious and comfortable. Ian was quick to respond to inquiries. The main entrance to Acadia did take about 25-30 minutes to reach, but there were delays due to road work.
Would suggest 2 rolls of toilet Paper rather than 1 for a 4 night stay.
We had a wonderful time staying at this wonderfully renovated farmhouse. We had 3 generations staying together and we had no problems with bathrooms or any sleeping quarter issues as mentioned in other reviews. House was well maintained and we truly enjoyed the outside fire pit! Large dining and living rooms were a definite plus. We even had deer visit every morning and you could see the Milky Way from the backyard! Truly magical experience!
Very clean place. The home was simple, but had all the things needed for a comfortable stay. I appreciated the nice stove, sharp knives, and comfortable dining room table. The fire pit in the backyard was a really peaceful spot as well.
Very nice warm and welcoming house. Very clean! We had everything we needed in every room. The couches and beds are comfortable. There is even a bunch of pamphlets, books and magazines on traveling in the area. I would have preferred that the one bathroom upstairs not be ensuite to the master bedroom. But overall we are very satisfied and would come back
