Southwest Harbor, located on the quiet side of MDI, is a welcome alternative to bustling Bar Harbor! A winding driveway leads to a secluded lot surrounded by evergreens. From the back door you can connect with numerous hiking trails which are located in nearby Acadia National Park! Enjoy the visiting wildlife through the wall to wall windows in the living/ dining area. On clear nights, it is the perfect spot for star gazing!!
The first floor open layout includes a fully equipped kitchen, living /dining area, 1 queen bedroom , full bath and laundry. On the second floor you will find a queen bedroom, double bedroom, full bath and loft area with futon. Take in the tranquil scenery of the blueberry field and Beech Mountain as you cook your delicious Maine lobster on the outdoor grill!

Beautiful and homey stay

This place felt like home. The beautiful backyard area in the fall and the quiet scenery. It was a great stay to explore bar harbor and bike Acadia.

Perfect Maine Retreat

We had such a wonderful time at the cottage. Perfect location for exploring all of Mt. Desert Island while in a quiet and beautiful location. Hope we can visit again soon!

Girls trip!

This was our second Acadia trip and we absolutely loved the quiet side of the island! The cottage was quaint and secluded. It was cozy and the perfect spot to return for a rest after a full day exploring!

Loved our stay!

We loved this house. It was the cleanest home we’ve ever stayed in! It was in a great location, loved wandering out to the blueberry bushes and saw deer in the morning. Kathy was wonderful to work with, she circled in with us to see how we were enjoying our stay and the area. We highly recommend staying in this property!

Blueberry Lane

We had a fabulous stay in blueberry lane in southwest harbor. The house is tucked away but still very accessible and a great spot between the quieter side of the island and bar harbor. The house was clean, had everything we needed and the hosts were quick to answer questions! Would absolutely stay here again!

Peaceful and Serene

House was located on quiet road with deer and turkeys on the property. It was very clean and beautifully appointed. Perfect for Acadia and short trip to Bar Harbor. Absolutely recommend this house for life on the quiet side!

Perfect place to stay near Acadia

This is our 2nd time staying at Blueberry Cottage and I’m pleased to say that we loved it just as much as the first time. It was perfect for our family. So quiet and peaceful with a lovely view of a meadow and mountains in the distance. The cottage had everything we needed. We didn’t want to leave! I highly recommend staying at Blueberry Cottage.

Wonderful!

This house was a perfect home base to explore MDI for our family of four. It is clean, comfortable, has a well stocked kitchen, near hiking trails and the views of the blueberry field and mountains were amazing. We loved watched the deer and turkeys every morning as we prepared for our daily adventure. Kathy is the perfect host!

Our Happy Place

My family and I always look forward to our return to this fantastic home. It truly is our happy place! Kathryn's property is clean, organized, and very peaceful. It is close to Echo Lake and two of our favorite hikes - Wonderland and Ship Harbor. We love the quiet side of the island and if you like nature and solitude, you will surely love it here too.

A peaceful getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at Blueberry Lane cottage. The place has beautiful views through a wall of window over an expansive blueberry meadow. We listed to owls and peepers and gazed at the stars from behind the house. The cottage was spotlessly clean. Southwest Harbor was a nice quiet location yet close enough to Bar Harbor for daily dining. We packed in lots of hikes and left very relaxed and our better selves.

Awesome Stay on Blueberry Lane

Great spot to stay when visiting MDI! Centrally located to Acadia, Bar Harbor but most especially to Beal's (my favorite place to eat on the island)! The house was impressively stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Our boys loved the loft upstairs to hang out in! It was awesome to see the deer come to the field behind the house each day! One even woke me up one morning while walking by the house!

Book this house!

This was the final stop in our New England tour. And what a way to end it! The home is charming, inviting, clean, and well equipped. The location is wonderful! The deer were out behind the house each day. The blueberries were just starting to ripen. It was a 20-25 min drive into bar harbor and we were thankful to be in a quieter area like southwest harbor. I would recommend this home to anyone traveling to MDI

Bad start, great finish.

cottage was as advertised, although upon our arrival, due to a miscommunication between host and housekeeping, cottage was not cleaned, beds not made since previous tenants. However, once error was discovered, mistake was corrected in a very timely manner . We loved remote location and natural landscape on backside of property. Would definitely stay here again.
