One of my favorite rentals we have ever stayed! Amazing views every morning for sunrise. Enjoyed sitting and watching the wildlife from the deck and the shore. House is exactly as advertised. We kayaked the Bay and it was a very convienent location to explore Acadia and the surrounding areas without being right in the mess of all the people in Bar Harbor. Perfect for our family. Everyone loved it!

This is our second stay at Water's Edge. We love this house and the owners make sure that the property is well maintained, comfortable and welcoming. Watching the seals play in the bay from the patio was especialy fun. When we go back to Hancock Point, we will be staying here again!

Waking up to amazing views

Great views out the large windows. Amazing sunrises in the morning and great days to view the bay and surrounding islands, etc.Our stay was early in the year, April, so there wasn't a lot of traffic on land or in the bay, but we enjoyed it being nice and quiet for our vacation. Will likely try to find this place again for our next visit in a few years.

Beautiful house with beautiful views!

Unfortunately our stay started out rainy and foggy, but once the weather cleared we didn’t want to leave the house! Sitting in front of those big clear windows watching the little lobster boat checking traps, the seagulls dropping their crabs on the rocks, the otters playing in the water and coming up on the shore, and the eagles swooping by were all the best part of our trip! We also enjoyed exploring the tide pools in front of the house and the walks on the quiet road on which the house is located. The house is only a short drive to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and Ellsworth. Overall the perfect place to stay for your time in Maine! Thanks Dean!

Incredible ocean side cottage, no better way to experience Down East Maine.

This clean and well maintained home is directly on the ocean, with incredible views of Acadia National Park and real working lobster harbors. The house is comfortable and clean…on a tranquil dead end street with effectively no noise from the outside world. It’s a great retreat within a 35 minute drive from the noise of Bar Harbor (20 mins to Schoodic!) and all the surrounding communities are beautiful. This of course is during the day…wait until night when no light pollution is there to spoil God’s canvas. Dean is wonderful to work with, my kids loved the loft bedroom, and I’d recommend the home anytime. Hiking, sailing, kayaking, nature’s bounty …and good food all nearby.

Could not have been better

We stayed at waters edge for 3 nights in June 2018. I was looking for something by a rocky beach and I definitely found it. Any closer to the water and we would be swimming. We had plans to venture to Acadia twice but we really just wanted to stay “home”. We didn’t have time to get the kayaks out, but wish we did. The house was well equipped with all necessities. The owners were very nice and helpful. There’s a book with all the local recommendations inside. I would say if your main goal is being at Acadia full time, this may not be the right spot. It’s about an hour drive to the park. But if you are looking for a nice coastal get away, defiantly pick this one. 2 bedrooms on the main level with a full bathroom. There’s a loft with an additional bed and sitting area. My husband spent most of the time on the deck while I enjoyed siting in the den with a full wall of opened windows to the water. He says he would’ve been happy just to stay on the deck the whole time we were there.

Beautiful location

We loved the location of the house, the views were wonderful. Listening to the waves as we went to sleep - delightful! We spent many hours admiring the wildlife, the seals, birds, especially the eagle that kept flying by. Amazing! We also loved watching the lobsterman bringing in his catch. The house met the needs if our family (2 sets of adults) well, we used the gas grill a couple of times and the kitchen had everything we needed. We chose this listing for its location and views and were not disappointed, in fact we so loved the place that there were a few tears shed when it was time to leave. This was our first visit to Maine and we had a truly wonderful time.
