About this property
Bar Harbor Oceanfront Log Cabin 10 min to Acadia National Park
Our modern log cabin has stunning views of Frenchmen's Bay in a very private, serene location. With 3 bedrooms (2 king bedrooms and one large loft (queen and twin size beds) /2 baths it is the perfect spot for a family or two to enjoy together. The main level has a bedroom and bathroom so those with mobility issues will be able to navigate the house after ascending 3 small steps up the front porch. Whether you enjoy sitting on the back deck, by the fire pit, or walking along the shoreline, there are many picturesque places to spread out and relax.
Located down a long, private, tree lined road that is directly on the ocean it is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. In the morning it is nice to sip a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the local lobsterman harvest his catch out in the bay. You might see one of the eagles or osprey swoop down to catch a fish or ride the thermals over the house. Seal may be seen from time to time sunning on a rock just of the shore or chasing fish for a meal. Deer may be seen grazing around the woods and marmot are seen at times.
The shoreline is a great spot to explore the tide pools and hunt for sea glass at low tide. Feel free to launch kayaks and paddleboards from the beach. You can bring your own or they can be rented on the island. We own the only other house on the street (more than 400 ft uphill from the cabin) that shares the beach access.
Just 10 mins from Acadia, 15 min from downtown Bar Harbor, and 10 minutes to the quiet side of the island, it is a quick trip to most places on the island. There are many quaint lobster pounds and restaurants within a five to eight minute drive of the house including the top ranked lobster pound, The Travelin Lobster. Local favorites also include Sweet Peas and Mainely Meats. All have great outdoor dining.
Like lobster? We have all you need to cook up a great lobster dinner at the house.
The log cabin has been a loved vacation spot by families for 25 years. We bought the cabin in November 2021 and renovated both bathrooms as well as completely re-decorated the whole house. We also own Bar Harbor Cedar Chalet just up the hill from this house.
We rent Saturday to Saturday from June- October 11. Otherwise we have a 4 night minimum due to Bar Harbor’s town regulations for vacation rental houses.
We have a firm no pet policy so all guests will be comfortable in the house. No parties or smoking as well.
We have beds for 7 but would permit one additional guest to sleep on an air mattress or in a pack n play.
We have an outdoor camera by the front door that looks at the driveway.

We are a family of 4 who love Acadia National Park and Maine. We spend as much time we can at our happy place. We are all avid hikers. Our children are 8 and 6 and have been coming here since they were babies. We enjoy the serenity and slower pace on Mount Desert Island. We believe connecting and relaxing is vital to happiness.
