wonderful cottage- we were so lucky to spend three nights here. Beautiful location, great amenities, clean and straightforward. Will definitely be recommending to friends. thank you!
A very comfortable and cozy cottage! The directions to the place and how to get into the building were easily understandable. There was a very thorough list of food and activity recs. The rooms and beds were comfy. Got to see lots of deer and turkeys! I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay sort of near to Acadia without being around the crowds.
Excellent stay at a lovely cottage. The property was exactly what we needed for a short getaway, close to an excellent lobster place and a beach. Very quiet, and perfect for two. Would definitely stay again!
The cabin was the perfect location for us to base my families adventures for on our last vacation. Ann's recommendations came in handy, helping us make great family memories.
The Cranberry Cottage was wonderful. My parnter and our 4 year old child loved our stay. Great location to many fun adventures around the Bar Harbor area, but also perfectly tucked away in its own little neck of the woods. The home was very welcoming and had everything we needed to enjoy our family getaway.
Very nice place to stay and had a peaceful/quiet setting. Anne, the host, very helpful with information locally and on hikes, which our family really enjoyed. We also really enjoyed finding sand dollars along the coast, only a short walk from the property. We had a wonderful vacation!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Anne was very quick to respond to any of our queries. We used the Cranberry Cottage as a home base while we explored Acadia. The location was perfect for us, and the cottage has a book with useful information on the area. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to the area!
Location was clean and cute. Bigger than expected from the photos. There are some maintenance needs like the kitchen faucet and shower that leaked. Red squirrels were entering underneath the building by the back door. The windows don’t open in the main room including the sky lights. Upstairs was very warm at night. The outside table & chairs and grill were covered with bird poop. I recommend a large frying pan to cook bacon as the one that was there was too small. We did enjoy the turkeys and deer outside. The keypad was hard to activate. It was a nice stay but there are some things that could be improved to make it a nicer experience.
My partner and I are a couple of city mice, and we really loved the tranquility of this cottage for our trip to Acadia. It was so quiet we'd find deer coming right up to the windows in the mornings and evenings.
We found the cottage clean and well stocked, and we made good use of the grill.
This house was the perfect spot for my family of 5. Perfect hikes close by for younger kids with the lighthouse a must see. The lobster pound at the end of the driveway was an awesome addition. My kids loved playing in the yard after a day of adventuring. And we enjoyed listening to the boats in the mornings.
We absolutely loved our stay at this cottage! Anne, the owner, is wonderful! She sent a long list of helpful recommendations before our arrival and was easy to reach during our stay. My daughter enjoyed throwing little rocks into the water at the beach, watching the deer in the evening, and playing with the Apples to Apples cards. We loved how close the cottage is to Acadia and Bass Harbor. The cottage was clean and free of clutter. The rooms were comfortable and cool. It was exactly what my family needed.
This cottage is better than advertised. The host thought of every detail to make it feel like home. Anything and everything you could need or want was provided...from linens and towels to fully equipped kitchen and a washer and dryer (even had laundry soap to use).
The location was close to everything in Acadia park and a short drive to Bar Harbor but it was extra nice to come to Southwest Harbor which was much less crowded. And SW Harbor had fabulous restaurants without the long wait times.
This place was a true gem and totally enjoyable.
This place is bigger than the pictures show. It was great for our family of four. You could put two more people downstairs on the pullout couch but with no window coverings downstairs it would be very bright in the morning. It was so quiet and we loved being away from the crowds and traffic at Bar Harbor. The stairs were a challenge with my bad knees, but I managed.
Cranberry Cottage is just as advertised! Perfect for a family of five, and has exactly what you need. We loved being away from the hustle of Bar Harbor but still a 5-10 minute drive to some favorite hikes, Southwest Harbor, and the Seawall area. And still plenty close to the main park for the big hikes! We walked down to the rocky beach every afternoon, played stick ball in the yard, and watched deer families wander through during breakfast. The best part was perhaps the extensive binder left by Anne with her family’s recommendations, we loved consulting it for new ideas!
Our family highly recommends staying at Cranberry Cottage. The cottage was the perfect size for our family of 4. The huge windows looked out onto the beautiful surroundings where we saw deer each evening! Though there are other cottages on the lane, it felt extremely private due to the large yard and many trees. The rocky shoreline is just a minute stroll down the lane, and the kids loved climbing on the rocks each evening. Perfect location on the "quiet side" of the island with lots of great food nearby and several great hikes. But also an easy 30 minute drive to the main side of ANP to explore the park. Anne, the host, provided us with amazing suggestions on where to eat and what hikes to do. It was so helpful! We are already thinking about returning to the area for a future trip, and we will certainly stay in this cottage again when we do!
Very nice cottage, it was nice and clean when we got there too. They had they had heat on and was very cozy. Recommend for anyone to stay. I know we will return!
We enjoyed our stay, however, the stair leading to the upstairs bedrooms are really steep, and very dangerous for senior citizens. There was no picture of the stairs, and we were unaware that the bedrooms were upstairs. Also, pots and pans are a little skimpy. A small omelette pan is the only frying pan. Could have used one more medium sized pot, also
This was a wonderful, well-appointed cabin that serves us well while visiting Acadia. It is a little further away from things but provided a peaceful home base which is exactly what we were looking for. We had deer in the yard at all times of the day which was a treat. Anne left so much helpful info in the binder. We did all of the easy and moderate hikes she recommended. There wasn’t anything we needed while there. The stairs up to the bedrooms are fairly steep so just something to keep in mind when booking. We were very happy with our stay in this cute, clean little cabin. We would definitely stay here again!
