If peace and quiet in your own home are what you desire, Cranberry View is the perfect retreat to bring the family and escape it all. Nestled by the shore of Western Way, the house offers the visitor plenty of privacy and access to the ocean's edge, surrounded by spectacular scenery. There is easy access to every activity Acadia has to offer, even free public transportation, in season, right from the end of the driveway. Easy convenience to the park, shopping, free public transportation in season, and all the other activities here on Mt Desert Island. About two hundred yards from the coastline. Delightful character with a large yard and gardens surrounding. Wander down to the water's edge, or enjoy nature from the ample yard, listening to the endless chatter among the birds and the sounds of the nearby ocean. A great place for kids and adults to explore all that Mount Desert and Acadia National Park have to offer.

Rental was very clean and well stocked. The host had great communication and offered many excellent recommendations about what to do on the island. The setting of the rental was beautiful with many chances to observe birds and deer. We were able to walk down the lane to the water and use the beach area too. I wasn’t sure if we would like to be so far from the main part of Acadia National Park but since we are not the touristy types I have no regrets about staying on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island.

The purpose of our trip was to stay somewhere reasonably close to hike and explore Acadia National Park for a few days. There were 5 of us - 4 adults and an 11-year-old. This cottage was the perfect place. It was nestled on a quiet street, bountiful with nature - saw deer every day. It was literally steps from a beach. Not a sandy beach, but a gorgeous rocky beach that we could access - and we went down there every day - to see the amazing view and watch some ships. Cranberry Cottage exceeded all of our expectations. It was plenty comfortable for the 5 of us and was definitely close enough to explore all of Acadia National Park. Beds were comfortable, cottage was VERY clean upon our arrival and the hostess really thought of all of those unique touches to make us feel right at home. On that note, our hostess was 5 out of 5 stars. She was very easy to communicate with; she shared an abundance of area and cottage information ahead of our arrival making it that much easier when we arrived. And this cottage was super easy to get to. We got stuck in traffic on our journey and was not able to arrive until nearly 11pm. Check-in was a breeze and even in the pitch black of darkness, it was so easy to get to the cottage and get unloaded and relaxed. We know without a doubt that when we find ourselves back nearby Acadia National Park, or anywhere near Southwest Harbor for any reason, Cranberry Cottage is the only place we will stay. We loved staying here on this quiet side of the island. Deer greeted us every day and we followed many our hosts wonderful recommendations for the area. The house was adorable and sleeping under the skylight with the stars so visible was awesome!

Great Place for a Getaway

We had a great July 4th holiday weekend in Acadia. This was the perfect place to stay in a quiet wooded area and close to everything the island has to offer. The Southwest Harbor fireworks were a highlight of the trip!

Lovely house and lovely location!

We loved staying at this cottage! It was conveniently located to many great hiking spots and felt secluded enough out in the woods. Just a short walk from a very nice secluded rocky beach as well. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a great retreat out to Acadia!

It is better than the pictures!

We had a wonderful time staying here as a family. After a day of hiking, nothing beat gathering around the fire pit and watching the stars fill the night sky. It felt incredibly peaceful and relaxing—a refreshing change from the bustling tourist atmosphere of Bar Harbor, which we could still easily access whenever we wanted.

We had another wonderful visit to Cranberry! We always enjoy staying at this cottage. It has great amenities in the house, and the location can't be beat.
