Ideally located near the entrance to the recently restored San Elijo lagoon preserve, this property offers striking, expansive views from almost every room. The open floor plan boasts a gourmet kitchen, three bedrooms, including a luxurious master retreat. Numerous patio spaces offer perfect spots to relax. Ideally located near the entrance to the recently restored San Elijo lagoon preserve, this property offers striking, expansive views from almost every room. The open floor plan boasts a gourmet kitchen, three bedrooms, including a luxurious master retreat. Numerous patio spaces offer perfect spots to relax. It says WOW at every turn! Our home is located in a quaint neighborhood of full time residents. We ask that you will be respectful of noise levels at all times, especially after 10pm. Thank you in advance, this will allow us to continue to share our beautiful home with guests like you.

There is a steep driveway that we share with our neighbors and a long staircase to enter the front of the house, as well as multiple staircases inside the house. The house can be challenging depending on your age and physical condition.

Also the view across the lagoon is beautiful, sometimes at low tide there can be a sulfur smell in the front of the house.

There is one covered parking space on the first floor garage. Space is large enough for two vehicles but fits on car best

What an amazingly beautiful and tranquil retreat!

Between the estuary, the birds, the sunsets (and sunrises), it’s the perfect retreat in a wonderful area. (make sure you try the tri-tip sandwich at Seaside Market and enjoy the quiet and comfort!)

Cardiff by the Sea Resets the Soul

My daughter and I stayed in this lovely property in a sweet village of Encinitas. The uplifting and beautiful view, access to walking/running trails as well as the village market and restaurants together with the beautiful San Diego weather made what was a business trip feel like a restful time away.

Excellent Stay

This house was perfect for us. Looking for a comfortable place with plenty of room and a great patio to enjoy the sunset and this fit the bill perfectly. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants, market and my morning coffee stop at Pipes cafe. Hosts Stephanie and Brian were great and super easy to deal with and we would definitely rent again when coming back to the area.

Brian is an excellent and communicative host! We chose the house because it was near family that we were visiting for the holidays and because of the photographs. This place defies all expectations. It is incredible. You’re very close to other houses, but you feel like you’re all alone on the hill overlooking the Pacific. Inside it’s spacious, luxurious and stylish. Every morning, sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee, watching the neighborhood hawk perch in the tower across the street was just one of many unforgettable moments. We’ve been to some beautiful vacation homes, Galway Ireland, the garden District in New Orleans. This house outshines them all. We want to make it our West Coast house when we come and visit family friends in Encinitas.

Beautiful View in a Very Comfortable Home

House has a great floor plan and is very nicely decorated. Multiple balconies/back deck provide great views and/or places to relax outside. Easy to walk to the impressive trail system in the nearby estuary. Shops, restaurants and the beach are also reachable by foot. We enjoyed the 15-20 min walk through neighborhoods day and night. Liked the added security of a lock on both the outdoor stair entry and to the house. Wi-Fi worked well for several video meetings.

Peaceful Getaway

This neighborhood is very peaceful. The house is beautiful & clean. It’s very accommodating - kitchen is amazing. Kids & dads played Monopoly for hours…something they never would have done at a hotel. We were on the deck several times a day - beautiful view. There are a lot of stairs - not great for someone w any walking issues just FYI. The daybed is up even more stairs but super cute. Beach chairs toys & towels so appreciated!! All in all, we were happy and relaxed in this house! Make sure to walk to VG Donut, but go early. We were super disappointed with “Cardiff crack” tri-tip (we got it pre-cooked, maybe cook here, they have a grill) but we were very impressed with Seaside Market - lovely & all within walking distance! Enjoy!

Christmas visit

My son and girlfriend live in the area. My two daughters and I went out to spend time with them for a few days around Christmas.. We were so happy in the home. Great kitchen layout as we did some cooking and then just played a lot of games and enjoyed each others company.! The views were wonderful. We got lucky with nice weather too. Brian and Stephanie are very accommodating. We made some wonderful family memories on our stay. The location is ideal. We walked a lot and into the town. Truly enjoyed our stay! Thank you

Views and comfort that cannot be beat

Magical location and perfectly appointed home. This was a working vacation for myself and my grown daughters. Being able to luxuriate in the views, sit by the fire, walk through the estuary, or along the beach made for a perfect getaway. Walking along the beach in Cardiff one day, we tracked a pod of dolphins! We had some good dinners in Encinitas, and other nearby neighborhoods. and cooked a bit in the great kitchen. I loved it here!

Outstanding Property!

We spent 5 days at Manchester by the Sea and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and all of the outstanding restaurants nearby. We had a mishap and broke a wine glass one night. I sent Stephanie an email and asked her if she wanted me to replace the glass or if she would like to charge me for it? She told me not to worry about it and enjoy the rest of our trip. We stayed on property with another family while we were in San Diego for a baseball tournament. We had plenty of room and we all felt it was the best VRBO property we have ever stayed at. We will stay again next June when we return for the 2023 tournament! Thank you Stephanie and Brian for being such amazing hosts!

Relaxing family vacation

Great Cardiff location with access to downtown as well as North County activities and beaches. Enjoyed the well-appointed kitchen and appreciated the beach towels. Balcony grill perfect for cooking up that Seaside Market tri-tip. Safe street. Quiet at night.
