About this property

Between the mountains and the sea, a profound and eco-chic nature experience in

Between the mountains and the sea, a profound and eco-chic nature experience in summer and winter. Eco-responsible stays in Catalan Country, in Occitanie.

MAS CANERS, THE CATALAN SOUL

Nestled in the heart of unspoiled and unspoiled nature, at an altitude of 750 meters on the southern slope of the Canigó massif, the sacred mountain of the Catalans that juts out into the Mediterranean, Mas Caners welcomes you to a remarkable setting where landscapes, history, and Catalan culture blend harmoniously. This peaceful sanctuary, exotic and revitalizing, is ideal for disconnecting and relaxing far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

ECO-CHIC GITES

In an old Catalan farmhouse, the two gîtes of Mas Caners, recently carefully eco-renovated and certified 4-star, harmoniously combine authenticity and relaxed luxury. Every detail has been carefully considered to preserve the authentic charm of the old building while offering a modern and comfortable experience in an eco-friendly environment.

The two independent and private cottages offer privacy and serenity in a cozy atmosphere deeply connected to nature: here, you'll feel right at home. Enjoy your cottage, its private terrace, the Mediterranean garden, and the 30-hectare protected natural estate.

Le Grand Caners, l'esprit Catalan, is the larger of the two cottages: the authentic and welcoming charm of an old family farmhouse.

FULL NATURE SPA

With breathtaking views of the Tech Valley and the Mediterranean, the organic swimming pond, fed by the farmhouse's historic spring, the wood-heated Nordic bath, and the panoramic sauna offer an idyllic setting to relax and connect deeply with nature.

The swimming pond is shared by both cottages, freely accessible, and open year-round. The Nordic bath and sauna are accessible by prior reservation (additional charge: ?30 per person for 2 people for 1 hour, ?25 per person for 3-4 people, and ?20 per person for 5-6 people. Bathrobes and spa towels are included) and are private once reserved.

Complete your stay with personalized wellness experiences (additional charge): in-home massage, purification ritual, forest bathing, or qigong session.

A TERRACE THAT INVITES YOU TO DISCONNECT

Le Grand Caners welcomes you with a large 28 m² terrace made of schist slabs, shaded by a pergola adorned with reed screens and wisteria. Facing a majestic century-old olive tree, this south-facing terrace becomes a true extension of the interior. With its large table d'hôte, it offers an instant change of scenery, summer and winter, and becomes the centerpiece of convivial moments.

A RESTORATION BETWEEN TRADITION AND MODERNITY

With a living space of 140 m², the Grand Caners is an ode to traditional craftsmanship and modern comfort. Each space has been carefully renovated to preserve the architectural authenticity while offering a warm and welcoming experience:

- Old whitewashed stone walls and century-old oak floors.
- Noble materials, such as solid and recycled teak wood, blend with bohemian fabrics and light, natural tones.
- Antique terracotta-effect tiles add a Mediterranean touch.

The house exudes sunshine and an elegant, relaxed atmosphere.

WARM LIVING SPACES

Ground Floor
A beautiful 45 m² living space comprising:
- A cozy living room with a pellet stove and a classic, timeless sofa. - A contemporary and ultra-modern kitchen, open to the dining room, with a central island next to the large guest table.

This layout encourages communication and conviviality, creating a warm and family atmosphere.

o King-size bed bases and mattresses (180x200 cm) sourced from the luxury hotel industry, with eco-friendly bamboo fiber sheets.

Every detail contributes to creating an atmosphere with a scent of faraway places, conducive to relaxation and a change of scenery.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH IN 10 PARTS

1. Renovation of old buildings: Use of sustainable and local materials: stones reclaimed on site, certified bio-sourced wood.

2. Building insulation: Roof and wall insulation to complement the internal inertia provided by the old stonework. Double-glazed windows with thermal breaks on all openings.

3. Low-footprint heating: Pellet stoves in the main rooms, low-temperature radiators on air-to-water heat pumps for the Grand Caners building, and gentle heat radiators for the Petit Caners building.

4. Low-consumption electrical equipment: Energy-efficient household appliances, a wood-heated hot tub with a hybrid electric system, LED lighting, and outdoor motion detectors.

5. Preservation of water resources: Capture of the Mas's historic spring, optimized for drinking water treatment via a carbon filter and UV lamp, flow limiters on mixer taps and shower heads, a dual-flow mechanism in the toilets, and a drip irrigation system for optimal use.

6. Wastewater treatment using phyto-purification: natural filtration in plant ponds before reintroduction into nature, a self-contained system with no added energy.

7. Biological swimming pond: pure water biologically treated without chemicals, a self-sustaining ecosystem that preserves the environment.

8. Eco-friendly interior design: recycled teak wood furniture, natural fiber lighting, high-end and eco-friendly bedding, 75% recycled materials, linens made from natural fibers (bamboo, wood pulp).

9. Environmentally friendly practices: waste sorting, eco-labeled welcome and cleaning products, and raising guest awareness about ecology during their stay.

10. Initiatives promoting biodiversity: no phytosanitary products in green spaces, planting of 200 native and non-invasive species to attract pollinators, the pond, a reservoir of biodiversity, already visited by salamanders.
