About this property

A Beautiful Catalan Mas - A hidden Paradise

Built in the 17th century, Le Mouli d'en Boix will cast its spell on you from the moment you arrive. This beautiful 25 acre property is situated high in the Vallespir Valley where it nestles into the hills, with only the noise of the river and waterfall breaking the silence. Either you can spend your days by the pool or on the terrace or take wonderful mountain walks with spectacular views. Wildlife abounds; butterflies and birds by day and wild boar at night. If you're lucky Roe deer may appear in the morning. St. Laurent de Cerdans is a 15 minute drive away and offers the usual French bars and festivals, especially in July and August. Restaurants in Coustouges and Tapis (Spain) are a short drive away. The Mas offers 3 double bedrooms, a lounge with sofa bed, 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets and a kitchen. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are not included. If you would like any meals to be provided please request rates. Mountain bikes and swimming are available on the property and there is a top class golf course 9 miles away.

Please note: The rates quoted are for one double room per night. In July and August the minimum stay is 7 nights and minimum rate is for two rooms. (The automatic quotation given by VRBO may need to be adjusted but please don't hesitate to contact me regarding the rate) In May, June, September and October the minimum stay is 3 nights. A beautiful and tranquil place

A truly enjoyable stay in a fantastic location. A chance to completely immerse ourselves in the peace and quiet of this rural property. Completely surrounded by woodland and a complete abundance of wildlife. Just what the doctor ordered. A perfect property to get away from absolutely everything. The hosts were fantastic and a wealth of local information, which was extremely helpful.

A little slice of heaven

A wonderful property, in acres of gorgeous forest with two delightful hosts. The pool, the views, the wildlife: if you like getting away from it all you’ll love this property. We selected it for our honeymoon and have no regrets - indeed we hope to return. Chris and Dave are two of the nicest hosts you could meet- helpful, friendly and in no way intrusive. 10/10

Really good place and host

We stay 1 week in Chris and David house and it was really nice. The location is well located, the house is clean and big, housekeeping is perfect. We did some walks in the mountains and get rest at the pool. But the best are the hosts Chris, David and Shumba. They are so nice, gave us many advises, their hospitality is fantastic and so kind. I wish all guests to enjoy as we did. I highly recommend this place and their landlord !! All best to Chris, David and Shumba !

A great choice

We (a retired couple) stayed at Le Mouli for the first three weeks in June. The welcome from the owners, Chris and Dave, was exceptionally warm and throughout our holiday there advice and information added to our enjoyment. The property is charming and spacious with extensive grounds to explore. The location is superb for the enjoyment of mountain scenery, peace and quiet, walking along quiet paths and through beautiful woodland, followed by a dip in the private pool. Although the property is quite secluded, there are the usual village amenities a short drive away. If we were to visit this region of France again, we would certainly consider re-booking.

We had it so calmly grand!

If I were to ask my family what did you like best there in le Mouli? Lou would say the pool, her books, the tree-house they made by the river. Cannelle would say our host who were ever so nice, the sheep dogs also and fishing tadpole. Prune would mention the horses and the rides and picnics in the mountains seeing deers and wild pigs. Stéphane would agree for Daves company and ...beers. I would select the books and above all the cultural night-night stories with Dave and Christine. We had had grand holidays before but never did we cry when leaving.

Vacances au calme

Le mouli d’en Boix est niché en pleine nature. Endroit paisible et calme il nous a permis de nous retrouver en famille et de nous déconnecter ( la connection internet n’est pas super). La maison est spacieuse et confortable , pendant la canicule elle reste fraîche ce qui est très appréciable. Toutefois, Il y a beaucoup d’escaliers ( a déconseiller pour les personnes qui ont des problèmes de mobilité). La piscine est très agréable avec une vue magnifique et la terrasse où nous prenions nos repas est superbe, entourée de fleurs et de papillons. Nous avons pu observer les biches le soir . Dave et Christin sont charmants et ont vieillé à ce que nos vacances se passent au mieux.

Bien sympathique séjour dans la nature !

Notre séjour chez Christine et Dave fut des plus agréables. Les lieux loués étant attenants à leur propre habitation, Christine et Dave ont évidemment été présents, mais extrêmement discrets, tout en étant constamment attentifs à ce que nous ne manquions de rien. Les bâtiments sont entourés de nature et tout est très silencieux. La piscine fut appréciée par les grands et les petits. A recommander pour celles et ceux qui, comme nous, souhaitent s'éloigner de l'agitation de la ville !

Vacances reposantes en pleine nature

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine chez Christine et Dave. Le calme absolu de la propriété nous a bien plu, et toute la famille a passé de bons moments : piscine grande et très agréable, balades en forêt et montagne, jeux dans le ruisseau pour les enfants, visites des biches juste en face du gîte, etc. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants : les enfants ont adoré aller nourrir les chevaux tous les soirs avec Dave, et les parents ont apprécié les échanges. N'hésitez pas si vous aimez le calme et la nature.

Calme, nature avec le confort !

Nous avons passé 15 jours au calme dans cette maison avec un environnement hyper nature ( pré, forêt, ruisseau, biches, chevaux ) et en même temps tout le confort dans la maison ( cuisine très bien équipée , TV, internet et surtout la piscine !!! ) Chris et David ont tout fait pour que nous soyons bien . Ce sont d'excellents hôtes très à l'écoute et en même temps très discrets . Un énorme merci à eux pour leur accueil ! Adresse que je garde pour de prochaines vacances et que je transmets dans mon entourage Merci à Shimba d'avoir tenu compagnie à notre chienne Mya ! A bientôt et bonne continuation !!

Delightful weekend

We spent 3 days at Le Moulin to avoid the noise of Sant Joan's and we had a great experience. The hosts are very kind and made us feel at home immediately. The house is nice and spacious and surrounded by nature and calm. Be aware, thought, of the road which might be bumpy and require a 4x4: we got stuck on our way back!

Am besten sind die Gastgeber!! Sie haben ein Herz für Ihre kleinen und großen Gäste. Wir hatten viel Spaß und zu lachen. Auch die Location ist gut, etwas abgelegen, aber gerade dadurch sehr idyllisch. Schöne Ausflüge haben wir gemacht, aber manche Tage konnte man auch einfach lazy sein und auf der Terasse oder am Pool mit den Kindern abhängen. Sehr sehr zu empfehlen....

Perfect relaxing week

What an amazing place, we had a week here with our two kids and had a brilliant time it was just a shame it wasn't two weeks. Plenty to do in the lovely sunny weather, exploring with Shumba and Elba, Dave and Chris's beautiful dogs. The kids especially loved the pool. Facilties are great in the property and Dave and Chris the perfect hosts we would definitely be be up for a return trip.

Mas de très haute qualité

Maison avec de très belles prestations située au calme à flanc de montagne: confortable, logement spacieux avec 2 salles de bains, 2 toilettes, une cuisine très bien équipée avec possibilité de manger dehors et de faire des barbecues. Maison très propre. Grande piscine privative et paysages magnifiques. A noter, les hôtes ont le sens de l'hospitalité et sont très charmants.

If you are looking for a relaxing, restful holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of a working year then Le Mouli is the place for you. If you have children Le Mouli is a giant playground with space to make dens in the woods, explore the stream and swim in the pool. Our dog is always ready for a game and love children throwing a ball or stick for him.
If you are a bird watcher, Le Mouli abounds with our feathered friends. One of our guests recorded 33 different species of birds, either seen or heard, during her Spring time holiday here.
