PETS: Only dogs are considered. Number of pets, size, and breed restrictions apply. All pet arrangements must be coordinated with our office in advance and approved in writing, and a non-refundable pet fee will be assessed.
LOCATION: Just steps from the area's best beachfront, there is great surfing and lots of sea life on the nearby jetties. An easy stroll or bike ride to restaurants and shopping, with fishing, boating, and bike rental also within walking distance. Tennis, racquetball, and basketball courts nearby; 3 parks within walking distance. Easy day excursions to Disneyland/California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Hollywood, San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Legoland, and more! Loved this home. From the time we arrived to the day we left, we found this home to be a great getaway for our family. This property was perfect for our family VK, the house is well stocked, clean and in a great location. We loved having the bikes and beach equipment for our use. Dana was super great to work with. The location of this cute beach house is perfect. Close to coffee and food. And steps from the beach. We loved this house so much. There was plenty of space for our big teenage boys and my husband and I. Beach chairs, boogie boards and bikes that were provided made for a lot of beach fun and family activity. Everything was just easy and enjoyable. It was hard to leave.

Jim and Dana's place was the perfect location for celebrating our son's college graduation. It's a great location near the beach and the accommodations were wonderful. We enjoyed the large common area which was great for hanging out, playing games and catching up. Having the bedrooms and bathrooms down a separate hallway gave everyone enough space to enjoy together time and alone time. We cooked most of our meals and found everything we needed to prepare then. We took advantage of the grill and enjoyed eating on the patio. Dana and Jim were very responsive to our questions. We would definitely stay here again.

The location was great. The ants were quite annoying along with the people who rented the place above us. Garage space is an issue. Two standard cars will have trouble getting into and out of the garage - between cars requires your BMI <23. SUVs, regardless of size, will NOT fit. Lots of other cars and trash cans from the neighbors take up a lot of the open space. If you are planning to have a car this will be an ongoing issue. The house had limited supplies and of you love nice towels bring your own. If you are 5'4 or shorter, the showers will be enjoyable. Tall people need to bend over....just crazy. On rainy days, water does come in the front doors you see in the picture so do leave anything cloth on the floor.. This is not a 5 star rental.
Our family was looking forward to our stay in this property. From the initial check in process, we had to drive to the property management place to sign paper work and then get told they will text us codes to get in. We were also told a compact car is recommended, when we are a family of 6 driving from Arizona that is just not a possible task. The property has an upstairs unit and downstairs unit (A) where we stayed. Its apparent that parking is impossible anywhere near the property so we drive around to the back where the garage is located and the people in UNIT B have a vehicle in there already. Theres approximately 10 beach cruisers in the garage so a second vehicle for the opposite unit is impossible. We were let driving around aimlessly looking for a parking spot anytime we left anywhere. The unit we stayed in had a lot of issues, lets begin with ants that were all over the living room and kitchen. By the end of our stay they were in bathrooms and every room. The bedrooms with the bigger beds had very uncomfortable mattresses, they were beyond firm with headboards that are not attached to the beds so you are left sticking towels behind them to avoid all the noise. Both bathrooms had clogged drains in the bathtub, we were left with only 1 toilet paper roll, and we didn't have enough towels to last for the week. By our last night, the garage was available to park as the new tenants that arrived a day before left so we finally parked our SUV in the garage. The people upstairs arrived at 10pm that night and we receive a phone call from the on call property manager whom stated the tenant upstairs wanted a space in the garage. Mind you this is the only time we had the opportunity to park in the garage. I explained to the guy that there are over 10 bikes there so another car was impossible. He threaten to evict us or tow our car if we didn't move it. My husband and I agreed that we will move our vehicle to the sport that is on our contract and we would leave the bikes on the other side so the other tenant can decide to take liability of moving those bikes. We had the cops called on us, the other tenant moved all the bikes outside and left them there so she can park her vehicle inside. We woke up to find a dent on our car door but left at 5am that morning and didn't want to deal with the hassle.
We will never come back to this property.

It is extremely unfortunate that your family had a dissatisfactory stay in Newport. It sounds like some of the home’s listed amenities were not fully considered by you before booking.
Guest supplies: All homes are outfitted with bath towels, beach towels, wash cloths, and hand towels, for the maximum occupancy of the home (in this case, 10 of each). The washer and dryer in the unit allows for washing/drying of the towels for multiple uses, if needed. We supply 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. Should a guest have special requests, we are able to make other arrangements prior to arrival, but communication of said requests is needed (see more on communication below).
Maintenance: It was unfortunate that we did not hear from you about the shower drains, ants, and parking situation (until the last night of your stay). We are staffed 24 hours/day, 7 days/wk for the sole purpose of handling issues such as the ones you have brought up in your review. We are extremely efficient and non-invasive. We checked in with you via email sent 24 hours after arrival. From our perspective, you allowed situations to stew unnecessarily.
Parking/Bikes: This unit has a 2-car garage, and currently has a handful of bikes, generously provided by the property owner for guests to freely use during their stay. They are stored at the front of the garage under cabinets, allowing each unit to park 1 small to mid-size vehicle, as the property’s listing states. Large trucks/SUVs are not recommended. We try our best to disclose this information clearly in the listing description, in various email communications prior to arrival, etc. Of course, it is not always possible to bring a vehicle that will fit in the parking provided, but in those cases, you do have the ability to park in the neighborhood (yes, difficult), or forego booking this home in favor of booking a property that has parking that can accommodate a large SUV.
The altercation that occurred between you and the other tenant was unfortunate and understated in your review. It was enough for that group to call the police, while we also then dispatched our staff to the property to ensure the police were responding to the call. The severity of the situation is why the threat of eviction was brought to the table.
We want to reiterate our deep disappointment that you and your family did not have the vacation you were hoping for. Thank you for taking the time to read our position on the matter.

Perfect for family of 6 plus 2 children. We enjoyed the ample space to spend time together plus private space for down time. The outdoor patio was a favorite gathering place to enjoy the sunshine and ocean air. The beach is so close and we all walked over to see the stunning sunset each day. The bikes and beach toys were perfect for us to enjoy. Great bike rides along the bike path. Close to freeway access for our Disneyland fun! We plan to visit this house again as a favorite stay!
Lovely property a block-and-a-half from the beach. Great out door and indoor dining areas - and a nice living room area adjacent. Great for a small reunion. Dana was very helpful and kind. I hope to return someday.
Everything about this place was great! Owners so quick to respond and very friendly! Clean and many amenities provided. Also everything you need for the beach is provided. Literally a two minute easy walk access to the beach walk. Would definitely return and highly recommend!
We love this property. It is perfect for our family. It has a great front porch to store bikes and eat outside. It is close to the beach and our favorite doughnuts and smoothies!!

We stayed with our two daughters, their husbands and two of our granddaughters. There was plenty of space for the 8 of us. The place was very clean and with close proximity to the beach. We loved taking the bikes to grab some cronuts or tacos on a regular basis. There was an issue with the microwave on the first day, but Dana quickly had a replacement delivered for us. We will definitely stay here again.
Such a beautiful spot with great beach proximity, comfortable beds, and a really nice patio for a bbq! Our highlight was definitely being able to use the bikes for a coastal morning ride! This was the perfect place to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation as a family!

This house was perfect for our post-Christmas visit to see our family in Costa Mesa. The house was clean, spacious and in an amazing location. We loved the front porch (plenty of room to social distance and visit with family) and just a block from the beach. We had several great runs along the boardwalk, watched the sunset and enjoyed the fireplace at night. The kitchen was well stocked, the bedrooms were comfy and it was so clean!
