Lovely stay in quaint cottage

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage. It was very well equipped with a lovely garden including two areas for outdoor dining and a lawn with sunbeds. The local village had a super boulangerie and the whole area was just beautiful. Our host Francis was very helpful and informative and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. A lovely, relaxing, peaceful holiday.

We wanted a quiet retreat away from everything and we got exactly that. We hired a car so we could get out and about when we wanted to... a car is a must. Beautiful property and the hosts were great... thank you for a great holiday!!!!

Le Fieux Delight.

As soon as we arrived we knew this would be a great and peaceful location. Stacks of charm and tranquil garden areas.Breakfast every morning outside and lazing on the loungers in the shade of the sun early evening.Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was at hand. Easy location for travelling by car to many varied lovely spots. Great stay.

Rustic retreat .

Perfect paradise for a bohemian break . Quirky cottage in a quiet corner of beautiful rural France . Directions a little difficult to follow but the final discovery worth the search ! Staircase to the bedroom balcony makes a bathroom trip in the depths of night a precarious adventure but the overall ambience and amenities are delicious . Superbly comfy sofas and French scrabble makes the evenings simple fly by .

Lovely old French cottage, with great huge fire place

A lovely French cottage in a cul de sac, with a chateau at the end. Very clean, with all things necessary for a great stay. The fire place is huge and charming. A nice French lady lives next door and is on hand to help, but respects your privacy. Satellite TV, and glad to hear internet will be available next year. Good mobile phone and mobile internet reception. We will be back for a longer stay !

Het was minder schoon dan wat ik zou willen. Stoffig, spinnrwebben, gruis op de grond en servies dat we eerst afwasten voor gebruik. Alsof er een paar maanden geleden iemand voor het laatst schoongemaakt is en er daarna niemand meer is geweest. Verwarming kon de kou niet aan. Warmer dan ca. 18 graden werd het niet. Watertoevoer toilet lekte al bij aankomst, toen we het doorhadden en het er ook bij ging druppelen hebben we contact opgeno.en met de eigenaar. Deze heeft reparatie gezorgd door een loodgieter een dag later. Het huis rook een beetje naar oud en te lang nat/koud geweest. Omgeving was prachtig en eigenaar zeer vriendelijk.

pas du tout conforme à l'annonce

jardin pas du tout clos, aucune sécurité pour un enfant ou animal. nous avons dû sécuriser le jardin, car maison à plus de 15 mètres de haut. jardin pas entretenu, ce qui diminue beaucoup la petite place de parking devant (arbustes). chambre : moutons de poussière sous le lit, réveil vers 6 h car fenêtre en hauteur impossible à occulter. cuisine : cafetière vous donne un bol de café en 32 minutes... imaginez une pleine cafetière !! bouilloire totalement entartrée et poeles et casseroles sales terrasse : outre l'insécurité, table de jardin vermoulue et cassée ainsi qu'une chaise. la prise pour la machine à laver ne fonctionne pas. le sèche linge n'en est pas un mais un simple étendoir. Jamais déçus par Abritel jusqu'à maintenant, mais là nous venons de prendre une belle gifle !!!

Maison typique très cocooning, très bien aménagée que ce soit côté cuisine, séjour ou chambre. Endroit calme en osmose avec la nature avec des ballades qui nous emmènent de surprise en surprise ! Accueil très sympathique à notre arrivée. Bref je recommande.

Accès à la propriété vraiment difficile .Impossible de garer 2 Véhicules. La mezzanine n'est pas facile d'accès. Escaliers de meunier pas fait pour les anciens et les enfants . Enormes poutres pour accéder au couchage dont 1 à moins d'un mètre du sol . Que dire de la télévision d'un autre âge !!!! Par contre , équipement pour cuisiner trés bien Sanitaires en parfait état Enfin , nous avons été surpris de ne pas voir les propriétaires (salons des vins en Allemagne ???? ) qui n'ont été joignables que par téléphone pour régler quelques détails domestiques

Séjour au calme au cœur de la nature

Nous avons passé un délicieux séjour dans cette petite maison charmante conforme à ce qui est annoncé par des propriétaires attentifs et réactifs. Une pièce centrale avec un coin cuisine et le couchage en mezzanine. L'essentiel y est avec l'agrément irremplaçable du feu de cheminée. Seul petit bémol: la qualité du couchage.

Originally from northern France, I moved to the Southwest in the mid 90’s after starting my career in the US.
Searching for a typical stone house in Dordogne Périgord, we found this old charming stone cottage and immediately fell in love with it…
Travelling internationally on a regular basis makes you want to stop the clock sometimes… and being an old stones and nature lover, this house and region was meant for us…

Why they chose this property

The Périgord has a very ancient history and is divided in 4 colours,

Black Périgord on the east, with its dark forest, its Clif, the bank of River Dordogne its numerous castles and prehistorical sites (Upper Palaeolithic caves)

White Périgord: the heart of the region which takes its name for the colour of its local white stones

Purple Périgord: at the south where you will find the famous Bergerac vineyards and its beautiful middle ages fortified cities…

And last but not least the Green Périgord where our Gîte is located at the north western part of the region, famous for its old fortified churches from the 12th and 13th centuries, it numerous Castles and the beautiful city of Brantôme, also called the “green Venice” of Perigord.
We are also in the middle of the Regional Natural Park of Perigord Limousin…

What makes this property unique

With its thick walls, old roof frame, big fireplace and coloured windows, my wife and I immediately fell in love with this cottage.
We renovated and furnished our family vacation retreat with taste trying to keep its charm.

The idea of renting the house came way later…
We told ourselves that if we were able to fall in love with this charming cottage, others would also ;-)
