About this property

Sugar Maple cottage is situated on a 42-acre former dairy farm turned private nature preserve. This charming cottage was built in 1951 and has been completely renovated, including new central heat and air conditioning for year-round comfort.

Thoughtfully updated with all the necessary amenities, you can cozy up by the fire after hiking around the grounds sitting by the lake, or spending the day in nearby Athens, Marietta, or Hocking Hills.

The backyard is fully fenced-in and has a large patio, fire pit, and hot tub. The yard is a perfect place for kids and dogs to play and the patio is large enough for an exercise or yoga session with provided yoga mats, blocks, and dumbbells. There is virtually zero light pollution in the area, giving you an amazing view of the starry skies on a clear night.

Home and safe passage to many animals including deer, turkeys, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, turtles, fish and frogs, the open meadows, hills, woods, and lake offer offer guests a chance to roam, explore, and connect with nature.

Great cottage with beautiful property

The cottage was great. The beds were comfy, the yard is HUGE and the fenced in backyard is great for pets. The hot tub heats up quickly and is great. The cottage has all the things you could need and is very tidy and neat. We enjoyed the hikes with the pups and had a great time using the side yard to throw frisbee.

Great Accommodations ! Perfect spot near hocking hills and Columbus!

My husband and 10 month old visited the Sugar Maple. The house is perfect for a family and pet to visit. The house is outfitted with everything you need to stay in and relax. The location is great as well, we visited Athens and went hiking at Wayne national forest. Great stay overall!

Beautiful and Relaxing

We took our foster boys and our dog, they loved the BIG yard! We saw deer and just enjoyed the scenery. Far enough out for privacy and yet close enough to shop and visit parks. Communication was great. Our hosts were awesome. The home is comfortable and very clean. We appreciate they are pet friendly.
