Secluded Wooded Setting 5 Minutes From Town

Creekside Cottage is a quiet, private gem nestled in the Appalachian foothills in a wooded country setting, yet only a 5 minute drive to Ohio University. It has a fully equipped kitchen, large deck with porch swing and outdoor furniture, fire pit, and hot tub. Bedrooms (one with a full bed, one with two twins, one with one twin bed) are equipped with quality mattresses and classic bedding. All linens are provided. Tastefully decorated, you'll find an extensive library of classic novels, historical biographies, photo illustrations, etc. AC and furnace will keep you comfortable no matter the season. Hot tub for relaxing at night and watching stars, or for that first cup of coffee in the morning. We think the surrounding beauty and nature's songs will take guests away from a hectic world for a short time. Cable and Wi-Fi are available. Cell phone reception varies; most guests find they can get an adequate signal.
Experience a historical college town and all it has to offer, and return to peaceful solitude, a comfortable bed, sounds of nature, and the simple comfort of a good nights sleep. Travelers will find this a delight!
Pets are welcome with a $25 fee. UNDISCLOSED PETS WILL INCUR A $100 FEE PER PET, PER NIGHT.
This is positively a NO TOBACCO environment beyond the fire pit and parking areas!

Check-in time is 3 PM, checkout is noon. Special event weekends have a higher base rate. Parking is about 80 feet from the cottage, near the road; it is not possible to pull right up to the cottage. The parking area is also separated from the cottage by a wooden privacy fence. You must climb a few stairs to reach the front door, which is accessed from the deck.
Cellular signal is weak at the cottage but functional.

Cute little cottage

It was very quiet and private. There was lots of space for everyone to do their own thing and not feel cramped in. The owner was quick to respond, and he was pleasant to work with. I would stay again, and recommend to others if they needed a place in the area.

The cabin has a strange odor and the bathroom smelled very bad after the first day. My husband could not use the queen bed because it Is against A wall on both sides . You have to crawl in from the bottom. He used the bottom bunk and the foam padding kept sliding off when he got up during the night. We had to charge the tv remote and figure out how to turn the tv on at the back of it because the remote would not turn it on. We did like the setting. Very peaceful.

Cute , tiny cabin in the woods . It feels secluded but only 5 minutes to OU. My husband and our two dogs stayed for a week while we look for a home in Athens. Super relaxing and quiet.

This was a cute, eclectic style, antique, secluded, great location cottage. The driveway and parking was perfect for our truck and trailer and for unloading motorcycles. The furnishings were more eclectic than comfortable. The bed was a 6, toilet paper a 7 - decent quality but spare roll anxiety was an issue. Shower was a 7 - clean but small, bring your own soap/shampoo. The hot tub was a 7 - clean and hot but low water level, no jets and broken cover required 2 to remove and replace. Setting is very wooded, a lot of insect noise, no water in creek, nice front deck, grill and fire pit we didn’t use. Slight musty smell at door. The love seat for watching tv was very uncomfortable and low to the floor. Overall rating 7. We would maybe bring camper next time and sacrifice hot tub to stay in State Park.

Such a cute cabin!

My boyfriend and I LOVE this cabin. We’ve stayed there twice now. It’s very close to Athens/stores/bars but the property itself feels vert secluded. The jouch (jean couch) is our favorite!!

The outdoor privacy, yet convenience to the city. Creekside cottage has NO visible neighbors; the view is of the creek, woods, and hillside. OU is just across the river, about a mile away by car or bike.
