Secluded Wooded Setting 5 Minutes From Town

Creekside Cottage is a quiet, private gem nestled in the Appalachian foothills in a wooded country setting, yet only a 5 minute drive to Ohio University. It has a fully equipped kitchen, large deck with porch swing and outdoor furniture, fire pit, and hot tub. Bedrooms (one with a full bed, one with two twins, one with one twin bed) are equipped with quality mattresses and classic bedding. All linens are provided. Tastefully decorated, you'll find an extensive library of classic novels, historical biographies, photo illustrations, etc. AC and furnace will keep you comfortable no matter the season. Hot tub for relaxing at night and watching stars, or for that first cup of coffee in the morning. We think the surrounding beauty and nature's songs will take guests away from a hectic world for a short time. Cable and Wi-Fi are available. Cell phone reception varies; most guests find they can get an adequate signal.
Experience a historical college town and all it has to offer, and return to peaceful solitude, a comfortable bed, sounds of nature, and the simple comfort of a good nights sleep. Travelers will find this a delight!
Pets are welcome with a $25 fee. UNDISCLOSED PETS WILL INCUR A $100 FEE PER PET, PER NIGHT.
This is positively a NO TOBACCO environment beyond the fire pit and parking areas!

Check-in time is 3 PM, checkout is noon. Special event weekends have a higher base rate. Parking is about 80 feet from the cottage, near the road; it is not possible to pull right up to the cottage. The parking area is also separated from the cottage by a wooden privacy fence. You must climb a few stairs to reach the front door, which is accessed from the deck.
Cellular signal is weak at the cottage but functional.

Like a storybook…behind the fence, past the bamboo, over the bridge, and into the cottage in the woods. This place has character, and we were there for it. Wish we would have had more time to explore, and would love to return. Host was fantastic.

Wonderful location for OU Homecoming. Totally private, just minutes from campus. It is a little rustic, but everything worked, and the beds were great.

This place was super close to campus. It is not fancy, but it is cute and comfortable and cozy with great natural light from the skylight. We had fun looking through the old books. If you’re looking for sparkling cleanliness of the furniture and hot tub you might be a little disappointed, but this didn’t really bother us at all and we fully enjoyed our stay.

It was conveniently located but wasn’t quite what we were expecting. The walk back to the house was unlit and covered with leaves. The WiFi password wasn’t correct on the site. And it was a little dated. The couch under the blanket in the living was worn and dirty. And the lack of regular tv was hard. Not alot to n just Roku tv. Everything else was ok. But the property needed a lot of work. Convenient and close to OU.

Convenient location, and definitely private. Very clean, updated kitchen and clean fridge! Comfortable beds. Washer and dryer was a perk! I felt there could be more lighting on the path to the home and at the entrance, and the walkway better cleared/maintained before our arrival. Furniture needs updated in living room and kitchen. Host was quick to respond to logging into WiFi.

The cabin has a strange odor and the bathroom smelled very bad after the first day. My husband could not use the queen bed because it Is against A wall on both sides . You have to crawl in from the bottom. He used the bottom bunk and the foam padding kept sliding off when he got up during the night. We had to charge the tv remote and figure out how to turn the tv on at the back of it because the remote would not turn it on. We did like the setting. Very peaceful.

Cute little cottage

It was very quiet and private. There was lots of space for everyone to do their own thing and not feel cramped in. The owner was quick to respond, and he was pleasant to work with. I would stay again, and recommend to others if they needed a place in the area.

Beautiful, secluded property that’s perfect for a quiet getaway. Storm caused an issue with the hot tub but Steve was on it as soon as we let him know and we were able to enjoy it that afternoon. Excellent customer service! Will definitely be staying here again.

The outdoor privacy, yet convenience to the city. Creekside cottage has NO visible neighbors; the view is of the creek, woods, and hillside. OU is just across the river, about a mile away by car or bike.
