I got just what I was told I would have

The place was very clean, orderly, and very close to where I was working for the weekend. I really appreciated it and I love the fresh oranges that you had out. Thank you!

Haven for Witchcraft?

There were several issues here. First, when we arrived the apartment was 50 degrees inside. It was so cold that we left and drove around in our warm car for over two hours, waiting for the apartment to heat up. Throughout of two day stay, we had to constantly turn the heat back up because it would always default back to 50 degrees. The toilet seat was dirty and I had to clean it myself. The refrigerator stop working for whatever reason.BUT, the about listed things pales in comparison to the fact that there was an eerie feeling inside the apartment...Each member of my family came to me separately and stated something felt weird and uneasy in the place. The each said that they felt like they, "were being watched." I then started to take a closer look at the residents where I found several items of witchcraft in the home.1. There is an oija board sitting on a bureau in the dining room. 2. There is also a small alter to Ganesha (Indian elephant god). 3. There is a Hindu statue in the same room.4. There are masks on the wall. One looks remarkably like Konshu (Egyptian sun god). The other was a Buddhist mask with an amulet of magic hanging from it.This location was very unsettling. Good location, but not great vibes inside.

Great location, comfortable, kitchen needs a makeover

Great spot in Chestnut Hill; we could walk or take the T to pretty much anywhere we needed to go. The layout worked well for our family of 4 (teen girl, pre-teen boy) as each person had their own space. The apartment is typical of an older duplex in this area (I used to live in Boston for a couple years) and is fully functional and comfortable. It has not been significantly updated (fluorescent lights and very old/worn out cabinets in kitchen etc.), so if that sort of thing bothers you, this place isn’t for you. Very simple check-in and check out process!

Great location & comfy place to stay

We chose this place because of the proximity to the subway (“T”) for Fenway! It’s a short walk & only 5 stops down the Green D line to Fenway. The same line takes you to touristy spots. Can’t beat staying on the same line, but it was a bit of a ride to go that far (45 mins or so). The neighborhood is nice and quiet, but on a busy street with a very busy intersection nearby. That didn’t bother us at all, but heads up if you bring kids. Also, the rush hour starts early! For example, we left Fenway on a Tuesday at 3pm in an Uber and sat in stopped traffic. We should’ve used the T! However, late at night the Uber ride was quick and not too expensive ($20). Tips: Get the T pass, leave earlier than you think you need to because one time the green line stopped for at least 15 minutes without moving and a local told us that is common because the lines are old and they will skip stops to make up the time. Luckily for us, the stops skipped were all before Fenway. An absolute must do in addition to Fenway, Cheers, & downtown touristy things is to eat an Italian dinner on the north end. We chose Villa Francesca at the advice of a local and it was amazing! Ask for Andrea. We may have lucked out, or this may be normal, but it had everything we needed - soaps, TP, coffee, even oranges & a cool squeezer. The beds are comfy, shower is hot, porch is cute. Wine store with nice owner very close, too. Not high end/ could be updated/ but that is not a factor for us bc price is more important.

Older Home but Met our Needs

The apartment has a lot of 'personality' and was clean and VERY well-stocked, in a great neighborhood with the T and loads of businesses (restaurants/grocery/pharmacy/retail stores) within a short walk and large enough for each teen to have their own room. The owner was very courteous and responsive. That said, if you are renting, keep in mind that the place is an older home (assume 100 years old?) with creaky floors and could use some updating (esp the kitchen). Two of the bedrooms had window ac units which kept the rooms cool and provided white noise. The third "bedroom" is actually an office with a very firm futon and doesn't have a window a/c unit so was a little stuffy and noisy. I really only had two complaints: we weren't really able to open the windows because they were so old/stuck so outside of the bedrooms it was a bit stuffy; it was noisy as we could hear all of the footsteps of the renters above us as well as construction and bar/street noise. Overall it was a good value however for the size and location and we had a good stay. Recommend.

Works just fine

Overall it was a fine place to stay with the family for a few days. The only thing that was unexpected was the laundry was in the basement in a shared space with the upstairs apartment.

Clean good neighborhood. Great communication

Very clean place in good neighborhood. Good value. Great communication by property manager. Apartment was well equipped with essentials like towels, kitchen products, and good space. Door knob was a bit tricky to turn. Available parking on driveway. Exterior could use some love (I.e. paint job, garage exterior repair, and landscaping).

Quick trip

All went well. The property was clean and comfortable. Parking was a big plus! The thermostat was high tech and I didn’t look for or ask instructions. So, we couldn’t have confident control of the temperature. But no real problem there. The weather was exceptionally nice and we would have liked to have open the blinds for the sunshine; but the windows were covered with insulating plastic that barred access to the blinds. The house was likely much warmer and the cost less, but still a bit disappointing not being able to open things up. Since we weren’t there much during the day, we only missed the early morning sunshine. I would recommend it to friends.

Great Stay for College Visits!

Clean, spacious flat with everything you need - comfy beds, parking, fully equipped kitchen, and most hygiene items on hand. Two blocks from Chestnut Hill T station on the green line (D train). Great for visits to BC, BU, and Fenway. Host was attentive and responsive. Not the quietest neighborhood. One day we had exceptionally low water pressure and extra hot, making showers uncomfortable. Overall would stay again if traveling with family. Good price for a launching pad.

Sweet local home

This house is eclectic in decor and layout, and super comfortable. The beds were really nice and there was lots of extra bedding if needed. Some things are a bit rundown in appearance, such as the patio and driveway, and the water pressure in the shower was either perfect (or absent if someone else in the apt was using water), but overall the inside space was lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

Fairy Tale House

Perfect location. Outside is very overgrown with weeds. Felt like walking into an old house out of a fairy tale, suspicious of what was “lurking” inside. A/C window units were all off so interior was very warm. Heard someone in the house, found housekeeper cleaning bathroom behind a closed door. Bathroom is very small, when he emerged 5-10 minutes later he was drenched in sweat. I felt sorry for him. Awkward for both of us. Because this is an older home we did not open doors to most closets for fear of what we may find. Window A/C units worked but very loud. Listed to sleep 6, I don’t think so. Maybe if 4 were kids. Pull all the weeds, close open garage doors and remove the fairy tale first impression. I would have slept better if those minor changes made.

Good location with charm

Stayed here for a short college visit to Boston. Good central location near Green Line with parking. Apartment was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained. 4 star rating for location was due to jackhammering at 7am from adjacent construction - obviously not the owner's fault but could be an issue for upcoming guests.
