First of all, the condo was nice! The actual condo was great- 3 rooms, king bed, 2 queens then 2 twins. Large balcony, good size kitchen and living area for us. Didn’t have any issues with cleanliness, there was plenty of extra blankets and pillows (which you don’t always find at these condos), a highchair which was very helpful, a closet full of beach toys- really a great condo.
My reason for the 3 stars was the property itself and the parking attendants. We had a 3rd car coming the first night and we asked the parking attendant if we could purchase an additional pass since the closest public parking was a mile away and then parking lot wasn’t even half full. He chewed my husband out and yelled at him and berated him for even asking, insinuating that he could lose his job. Totally understand that, but no reason to be rude at 10:00 at night. The second day, after we got all our beach stuff set up on the beach, it rained all day, so we stayed inside. Luckily the condo had plenty of puzzles and we could watch whatever we could get on the smart TV’s (Netflix, Amazon…etc.). We did go to the indoor pool and it wasn’t too bad considering indoor pools are usually the worst. They had the doors open so the chlorine smell wasn’t bad at all. That night we left our wet, sandy beach stuff right outside our front door because it sat outside in the rain all day and the same parking attendant came banging on our door at 9:30 at night night yelling at us that we can’t leave that stuff in the hallway. Again fine, no need to be rude.
Finally some sun on Sunday, we ended up adding an extra night to the trip, got to spend the day at the beach and the pool- the pool was awesome! We came up and had dinner, finished puzzles, starting packing up and the SAME PARKING ATTENDANT comes banging on our door saying that he has received SEVERAL complaints that we are slamming the sliding balcony doors. Not true, I tell him, we have small kids and we make sure they don’t slam it because we don’t want anyones fingers to get caught so we have specifically taught them not to slam it. He continues on that we need to watch our kids cause he’s gotten several complaints. Super annoyed at this point. All of us are heading down to our car a couple hours later and he sees us and says ‘I was given wrong information- it wasn’t your condo, it was another one.’ That’s it. No apology or anything.
The property was decent, although there are no vending machines (I happened to get there early, with an infant and didn’t have any water on me, it was raining and I was sick- only reason I complain about no vending machines- moms you will understand). Again, the condo itself was great. Plenty of room, plenty of extras, great cooking stuff (which is never the case), awesome pool, short beach walk, but the property itself was outdated and the security guard was so rude. I did reach out to Vacasa a couple time times about small things and it took them a long time to respond (Labor Day weekend, so I understand), but you wouldn’t get that with a property managed by someone local, or an individual, if that matters to you.
Also, the check out directions I received via email said to turn up the thermostat to 76 and empty trash and nothing else. Specifically, don’t start laundry cause it’s taken offsite. However, there was a check out list posted on the front door that said different- start towels, start dishwasher, etc. we did not start towels because I didn’t want to make the inconvenience the cleaners with wet towels (per the email instructions) but we did run the dishwasher. So, that was confusing.
All in all, 5/10. All 5 of that is the inside of the condo itself, the great pool and close beach access.
