About this property
Luxury WATERFRONT LODGE on Whidbey Island, Hot Tub, Private Beach, 3 Fireplaces.
Soaring Eagle Lodge on Whidbey Island is a magnificent waterfront retreat nestled on a high bluff above Puget Sound, offering spectacular views of Skagit Bay, snow-capped Mount Baker, and the Cascade mountain range. A hike down the 'adventure trail' leads to our secluded, privately-owned beach.*
Soaring Eagle Lodge stands out among vacation homes on Whidbey Island for its unparalleled sense of privacy and immersion in nature. The forested, park-like grounds are a nature lover’s dream with hundreds of towering evergreens and flowering trees, complemented by vibrant landscaping featuring tulips, daffodils, azaleas, rhododendrons, and more. If privacy is paramount and you seek a genuine escape in nature, Soaring Eagle Lodge is the perfect choice.
Soaring Eagle Lodge caters to guests who appreciate top-tier accommodations and modern conveniences. From deluxe Sleep Number beds and cozy plush robes to ironed pillowcases, heated travertine bathroom floors, and a jetted indoor soaking tub, every detail ensures comfort and luxury. Outside, a premium Bullfrog Spas hot tub invites relaxation amidst the natural beauty. Roaring fireplaces and original artwork inspired by the Pacific Northwest add warmth and character. A large, well-stocked gourmet kitchen delights chefs and home cooks alike, ensuring every culinary desire is met. Throughout your stay, indulge in refinement and elegance at every turn.
The Lodge takes its name from the majestic American bald eagles that soar along the coast of Whidbey Island. We're fortunate to host a bald eagle nest right on our property! During nesting season, our resident eagle pair is either incubating eggs (approximately April 1 to May 7) or caring for chicks eagerly awaiting their next delivery of fish (from May 7 to August 15). This awe-inspiring experience is cherished by many of our guests, who often marvel and comment on it.
With lightning-fast WiFi throughout the home, Soaring Eagle Lodge is an ideal place for remote work. Recognizing the importance of uninterrupted connectivity, we've installed a 48,000-watt Kohler whole-house generator. This ensures that your long-awaited vacation remains uninterrupted by power outages: the generator starts automatically, providing full home power for your safety and peace of mind. It’s a convenience you might not realize is crucial until you need it—a necessity on forested Whidbey Island.
Whidbey Island and the surrounding area offer a wide range of recreational activities, including golf, sailing, fishing, kayaking, whale watching, boat tours, horseback riding, bird watching, hiking, biking, shopping, farmer's markets, and more. Additionally, Whidbey Island is home to a number of excellent wineries, distilleries, breweries, tasting rooms, and hosts many festivals and events throughout the year.
Soaring Eagle Lodge is centrally located for day trips to Port Townsend, Anacortes, Langley, Coupeville, La Conner, Fairhaven/Bellingham, the San Juan Islands, and Victoria, BC. Moreover, the cities of Seattle and Vancouver, BC are only about 90 miles from the Lodge. However you choose to spend your time, you will feel rested and relaxed after your visit to Whidbey Island and Soaring Eagle Lodge.

*Our adventure trail offers rustic beach access, descending approximately 100 feet from our high bank property. The path includes wooden steps built into the bluff, complete with handrails, as well as two ladder-style sections (see photos). Due to its steep and rugged nature, it is not suitable for very young children, the elderly, or individuals with mobility challenges.

About the host
Hosted by Ned Towle, Owner, Soaring Eagle Lodge Whidbey LLC

I am originally from Boston, but Hawai’i has been home for over 30 years. Since discovering the beauty and charm of Whidbey Island and Soaring Eagle Lodge, I spend more and more time in the Pacific Northwest. It’s rewarding to share our home with guests who appreciate its unique qualities as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
Imagine a quiet, peaceful, rural setting with open spaces, incredible natural beauty and abundant wildlife. I most enjoy the incredible variety of trees, including Douglas Firs, White Pines, Japanese and Leland Cypress, Western Red Cedars, Big Leaf Maples and Madronas; and the amazing variety of raptors, including Bald Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, Northern Harriers, Cooper’s Hawks, Peregrine Falcons, American Kestrals, Great-horned Owls, Barred Owls and Western Screech Owls.
What makes this property unique
Soaring Eagle Lodge is a unique and truly one-of-a-kind property. The home is large but cozy and was beautifully designed and constructed with the finest materials. The ocean views and park-like grounds are stunning, but what it has that is rare is absolute privacy. Spending time at Soaring Eagle is a special experience that will leave you relaxed, rejuvenated, and wanting to return!
