Luxury WATERFRONT LODGE on Whidbey Island. Hot Tub, Private Beach & Bald Eagles
Soaring Eagle Lodge is a private waterfront retreat where mornings begin with bald eagles soaring overhead, coffee on the deck overlooking Puget Sound, and panoramic views stretching across Skagit Bay to snow-capped Mount Baker and the Cascade Mountains. Tucked away on six acres of forested grounds high above the shoreline, the Lodge offers a rare combination of luxury, privacy, and immersion in nature. An adventurous trail winds down the bluff to your own secluded beach, where guests often spend hours beachcombing, watching otters and seals, and searching for driftwood and sea glass.
Whether you're gathering three generations of family, vacationing with close friends, or simply escaping city life for a week of peace and quiet, Soaring Eagle Lodge was designed to be a place where people reconnect—with nature and with each other.
Inside, every detail has been chosen for comfort. Deluxe Sleep Number® beds, cozy plush robes, heated travertine bathroom floors, a deep jetted soaking tub, three roaring fireplaces, and original Pacific Northwest artwork create a warm, refined atmosphere throughout the home. A spacious gourmet kitchen, stocked for serious cooks as well as casual family meals, makes gathering around food one of the highlights of every stay.
Outside, the premium Bullfrog Spa under a covered patio overlooking the Sound offers the perfect place to unwind beneath towering evergreens while listening to the sounds of the forest. Gather around the firepit in the evening to share stories, roast marshmallows, and make memories together as the sun goes down over the water. Deer wander through the grounds, pleasure boats cross the bay below, and an extraordinary variety of birds—from tiny hummingbirds to majestic bald eagles—provide an ever-changing view. There is enough to see and enjoy that you may find yourself perfectly content never leaving the property.
The Lodge takes its name from the bald eagles that soar along the bluff and ride the thermal currents above the home. One pair nests right here on the property! During nesting season, guests often watch our resident pair incubate eggs and later deliver fish to their growing eaglets. In spring and summer 2026, the pair successfully raised two eaglets, and guests witnessed with wonder as they grew from tiny chicks to full-sized young eagles and eventually fledged from the nest. Many guests describe watching this remarkable eagle family as one of the highlights of their stay—a uniquely Pacific Northwest experience that few vacation homes can offer.
When you're ready to explore, spend a day whale watching in the San Juan Islands, wander the historic waterfronts of Coupeville or Port Townsend, browse the galleries and shops of Langley, or sample Whidbey Island's wineries, distilleries, breweries, and tasting rooms. Outdoor adventures abound as well, with sailing, fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, golf, horseback riding, bird watching, and boat tours all within easy reach. Or simply spend the afternoon walking your own secluded beach before returning to the Lodge for a soak in the hot tub or an evening by the fire.
Soaring Eagle Lodge is also ideally situated for exploring the wider region. Anacortes, La Conner, Fairhaven, and Bellingham make wonderful day trips, while the San Juan Islands and Port Townsend offer some of the Pacific Northwest's most memorable scenery and experiences. Seattle and Vancouver, BC are each approximately 90 miles away, making the Lodge feel wonderfully secluded without being disconnected from everything the region has to offer.
For guests who need to stay connected, lightning-fast Wi-Fi throughout the home makes remote work easy. And because even a beautiful island getaway shouldn't be interrupted by a power outage, the Lodge is equipped with a 48,000-watt Kohler whole-house generator. It starts automatically and powers the entire home, providing comfort, safety, and peace of mind regardless of the weather outside.
