Host was very responsive to our questions, house was very nicely decorated, lots of personal touches in the home, beds were very comfortable and we really appreciated all the bathrooms that house came with. Overall it was wonderful stay.
We were a family of 8 and stayed at the house for Thanksgiving. The house was perfect, clean, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us. Lovely sitting room with comfortable seating and fireplace. The house was very well stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. We did bring our own wine glasses, which was helpful. It was nice to walk to town to Vermont Country Store, and a few other shops, and there is a pretty park across the street. We would definitely stay again!

All the right amenities in a beautiful old Vermont home.
I was there to go snow boarding not sight seeing. There was 10 inches of snow on the ground in the morning...... need I say more!!!
Overall this was a wonderful home that feels cozy and with a lot of space! Location is good, there’s a good selection of places to visit nearby or mountains to go ski. My only real concern was that it can be quite icy getting up the hill to the parking/garage.
Plenty of room and a very comfortable furnished. Well decorated with lots of antique and two wood burning fireplaces with plenty of wood and starters.

Wonderful clean comfortable house in the center of Weston
The house has a interesting lay out , but was clean and comfortable . A little shy on glassware for a large group and limited parking. No wine glasses anywhere. But 2 different coffee makers and lots of towels. Well managed and centrally located in Weston, you can walk everywhere. Enjoyed our stay very much !
We were a large group of adults, teens and tweens and this house was perfect for our vacation! There are so many private nooks to have some alone time along with a great open family room and kitchen area to come together. We loved its charm, its coziness and variety of spaces. David was great to work with and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and book again.
All in all we had a nice time in VT. The house was cool. Very interesting and Lots too explore. We enjoyed hanging in the main living room and enjoyed watching movies with the kids and playing music. Super close to the Vermont country store, which is why we stayed there.

Delightful!
Our family had a magnificent time at this gorgeous farmhouse! There is plenty of space for a large group including lovely bedrooms, many bathrooms, large shared spaces to gather to eat and visit as well as room if folks need quiet time. We had several generations together from an infant to great grandparents and everyone enjoyed our time in Weston immensely. The house is in walking distance to the quaint little town and also an easy drive to Okemo and Magic Mountains to ski. Some members of our group went on a gorgeous hike (and brought our dog thanks to the house being pet friendly!) - also a quick trip. The Weston Priory is only about 5 minutes down the road as well, and that is a beautiful, sacred place to visit. The only down side was that the heat stopped working halfway through the weekend and wasn't resolved until after we checked out. Our folks were uncomfortable but we made do and it didn't dampen our time together. We'd definitely return!
We really enjoyed staying here.. Great property that has got a lot of character in it.
The highlight of this place that I really liked is the campfire set up beside a small creek. I definitely recommend staying here. Last but not the least, the host was prompt in responding to any questions or concerns I had making sure the check in and check out process was hassle-free.

A fantastic weekend in this spacious, cozy home!
Our weekend stay at this home was fantastic. The spacious common areas gave us plenty of room to gather, whether we were enjoying a lazy morning coffee, playing board games late into the night, or simply unwinding after a day of skiing.
David, the host, was exceptional—always quick to respond and even went out of his way to provide extra kitchenware to enhance our cooking experience. His hospitality truly stood out.
If you’re looking for a place that combines thoughtful design, true hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere, look no further. Highly recommend!
The house is fantastic, and in a great location. Despite all the floods the week before everyone on our golf trip had a great time. Just be cognitive of the neighbors at night as our small group didn’t realize they are right next door.
David the host was great the house is awesome and everyone had a fantastic time! Would love to rent again with my wife and son!

Ski Vaction
We had a group of 16 people, 8 adults and 8 children with plenty of room to move around and enjoy the living spaces. It was very clean and everything worked great. We skied at Okemo which was a 15-17 minute car ride. After a long day of skiing we sat next to the fireplace (he supplied plenty of firewood) and watched the NFL football playoff games. I highly recommend this house for a ski trip.
Our extended family of 15 enjoyed our stay at The Historic Rideout. The house is spacious and is nicely equipped. It is in a nice quiet location with a small waterfall and park across the street which we used for a family photoshoot. The owner was very responsive to our questions. The owner provided a lot of information on the house and the area. The Vermont Country Store was a 5 minute walk away.
This house was more than large enough for 15 people (8 adults, 7 kids). Very short walk to town and 15 minute drive to Ludlow. The house itself is fantastic! Rustic floors and lots of natural light. Two streams, one in back next to fire pit with great view of surrounding hills and foliage, and another stream in front across the street. The property owner was very easy to work with and responsive.

Another great stay
For the 4th year my family of nine and I stayed at a place owned by Vermont Escapes. This year we chose the historic Rideout in Weston. With 6 bedrooms and bathrooms we had plenty of room. The teenagers especially loved the game room and hot tub. We, however, chose to plant ourselves in front of the wood burning fireplace.
The house is more than adequately stocked with linens and essentials for cooking. We were able to monitor the thermostats to our liking which provided for a comfortable temperature. The house is clean and well maintained. Firewood was in great supply and on the first day the hot tub maintenance man cleaned the tub.
David is but a phone call or text away. We always have peace of mind when renting from him that all will be taken care of. We hope to return to the Rideout next year.

Perfect house for our large crowd
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this large, comfortable home in Weston! Our group totaled 10 people from 4 different families and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The house had everything we needed to prepare and serve meals, including a grill. While the home is older, it was clean and everything was in good working order. We saw a show at the prestigious Weston Theatre and had a fun day at nearby Okemo Resort. Vermont is beautiful in the summer and our stay at The Historic Rideout couldn't have been better!

Great home for a couples reunion
5 couples reunited for a weekend at Rideout. It was a perfect home for our purpose. We loved the house with its historic charm and meandering floorplan. The open kitchen, living room and dining room were comfortable for the whole group. A random drawing was needed for room assignments since the largest master suite was very impressive! While we chose Rideout as a size match for the group that was meeting, an unexpected bonus was the Vermont Country Store within walking distance. Most of us were familiar with the catalog and never expected to actually visit it! All around good rental experience for what turned out to be a great weekend.
