Perfect for couples, families, girls/guys weekends, etc. 15 minutes from Lake Michigan & 5 minutes to Lake Paw Paw. Centrally located to enjoy the many Michigan beaches, breweries, wineries and restaurants.

The Cottage is one block from Downtown Coloma - 5 minutes from Lake Paw Paw and 15-20 Minutes to St. Joes & South Haven. Small Town living with access to all of the activities that Southwest Michigan has to offer. Walk into the quaint village of Coloma to enjoy the local restaurants, antique shops, ice cream or the Movie Theater, the Loma (affordable movie prices, under $6!) Coloma has so much charm and character and is perfectly located between Lake Paw Paw & Lake Michigan!

The Cottage offers 3 Bedrooms and 3 Full Bathrooms - sleeping for 8 with 2 Queen Bedrooms and a Bunk Room with 4 Twin Beds. Two living spaces, a huge Family Room in the back of the house with a sectional and oversized chairs with a cozy electric fireplace and TV for relaxing along with a game cabinet. The Living Room is at the front of the house and provides a relaxing space to hang out and read or watch TV and also has an electric fireplace. The dining area is off the Living Room and seats 6 with the bench added. TV's are both streaming TV's, there is no cable hook up.

The Kitchen is fully stocked with the tools and appliances you will need to prepare meals for you and your guests. Everyday dishes, China & Kid Friendly plastic dishes are available for your use. Pots, Pans, Baking Pans, Utensils, Serving Pieces, etc. are all supplied as well. An assortment of appliances including a Keurig (starter set of coffee pods, sweetener included), Drip Coffee Maker, Blender, Crock Pot and Mixer are provided as well. The Oven/Stove is electric and glass top, the Refrigerator includes an ice maker. A full spice rack, assortment of teas and a few other kitchen staples are available for your use as well. Please note that there is no garbage disposal in the kitchen. There is a bench in the kitchen for extra seating and enjoying your morning coffee or hang out with the cook during meal prep!

The Wrap Around Porch has 4 Adirondacks on the Side Porch - we hope you enjoy relaxing with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and enjoying all the sights and sounds of Coloma and the Downtown Area. Pop over to the Coloma Library which is right next door! There is a wood burning fire pit in the backyard for your enjoyment, what's a vacation in Michigan without some S'mores? Six Adirondack chairs circle the fire pit with additional seating stored in the garage.

To make your stay more enjoyable we have provided some beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, beach towels and life vests to help you enjoy the the area beaches and water activities.

There is a washer and dryer available for your use with an allocation of laundry detergent.

The Cottage has been a labor of love and almost all of the furnishings and accessories are new or collected treasures. We are excited to share this space with you and hope that if you choose to stay with us that you love as much as we do!

Please note, no parties, no pets, no smoking of any kind.
Minimum stay in the summer months is 3 days (May-Aug) 2 days (Sept-April).
Maximum Stay throughout the year is 14 days.
Guest count over 8 will incur an extra charge, our permit limits the number of guests

SECURITY
There is a Nest Front Door Bell as well as outdoor cameras at the side door and side porch door entrances as well as the garage facing the driveway. The cameras are in place to ensure the safety of the property not to infringe on our guests privacy and at no time during your stay will we have the ability to see inside the house or in the backyard by the fire pit.

We encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance, in these uncertain times, travel insurance will give you peace of mind if your travel plans change outside of the cancellation policies that are established for the Cottage.

In lieu of a damage or security deposit we require each guest to purchase the damage insurance at the $3000 level for a one time cost of $79. This protects you and the Cottage should any accidents or damage happens. You will see this charge during the check out process.

Amazing Cottage

This home exceeded our expectations- so large yet comfy. Especially enjoyed mornings and evenings sitting out on the covered porch and the enormous family room. Host went over and beyond with every detail. This is one of our favorite stays by far!!!!!

Our family enjoys going to different cities around Lake Michigan at summers' end for the past few years. This stay was our favorite! Great location inland to several beaches off Lake Michigan (Silver Beach, North & South Beach, & More)! House was perfect for our 4 kids to be entertained after a long day at the beach and they loved having the library next door. Walking distance from many good local restaurants and local park with splash pad. Highly recommend and if we visit this part of the state again, will plan on booking here again!

We had a great time in Coloma at your house! The house was fully stocked! Overall cleanliness was good. I did notice in the pocket next to one of the beds upstairs a dirty Band-Aid and chip bag and underneath the bed on the main floor were two socks and dust on the floor. The kitchen faucet was hard to work with and the refrigerator door would swing open pretty far. We had a lot of fun playing all the games that were available and sitting around the bonfire telling stories. Thank you!

A Charming Retreat

This cottage was absolutely lovely! The cozy atmosphere, combined with the beautiful surroundings, made for a truly relaxing getaway. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the living area was perfect for unwinding. We especially loved the porch which was perfect for morning coffee and chatting. Thanksgiving with family.

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coloma Cottage. The house was perfect for us! It was so beautifully decorated and had some lovely additions for Christmas. The house and the amenities are exactly as described in the vrbo listing. We had 5 adults and a toddler on the trip, and we had more than enough room. We grilled out most evenings and spent time on the porch. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need to cook or grill. There is a great ice cream shop and park within walking distance of the home. St. Joe and South Haven are easy drives. Shannon made it easy to have a "beach day" with all the extra chairs, towels, and toys she kindly shares. We would absolutely stay here again. Thanks, Shannon, for sharing your home!

We had a wonderful time at the Coloma Cottage. The house was just like the pictures, but it was even better in person. There was plenty of space for our family of 5 to spread out. Everything was very clean and comfortable and all of the little details were well thought out. They truly had everything you could need. We especially appreciated all of the beach gear in the garage. The location allows for easy access to both South Haven and St Joseph, each about a 20 minute drive. Communication with the host was excellent. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place!

The owner was fantastic, she was very professional and responded right away when I sent her a message. The place was absolutely beautiful. She left some goodies and had everything you would need to stay there. The only complaint would be the upstairs bathroom tub, it looked stained (probably just need extra elbow grease to be cleaned). No one used it. Also, toilet seat is loose, it moves when you sit on it (I brought my own toilet covers). Other than that the place was perfect.

Car towed

I've been struggling on how to write this review. The house was fine. But the neighbor is upset about living next to a rental and managed to get our car towed. We were out $325 and had to get the police involved to get the car back. The info binder with instructions clearly stated we could park in the driveway or on the side streets, but not on the main street. So when one of our group arrived late at night, she asked if she could park on the street to avoid blocking anyone in. We both checked for signage, just in case, saw none, and went to bed. The vehicle was towed 6 hours later. The police said that a neighbor called and complained about a vehicle parked near their house. So they towed it. Rechecking in daylight we could see signage on the other side of the street and every other block. Looking at coloma ordinances, there is no overnight parking on any side streets. They were supposed to issue a $10 ticket according to city ordinance. After 6 unpaid tickets, a tow is in order. The escalation is clearly a ploy to get money from out of towners. The host insists that her parking instructions were somehow not meant to be instructive and we should have noticed the signage on all the other streets and concluded not to park there and our issue is with coloma, not her. She refused any kind of reimbursement. I tried contacting vrbo directly. What finally worked was getting a partial reimbursement from my credit card company.

We are so thrilled you are looking at the Coloma Cottage as a potential vacation option and know how important it is to find the perfect place to relax and have fun. My name is Shannon and along with my husband Andy, we are your hosts at the Coloma Cottage. We reside in the western suburbs of Chicago and both work in advertising but have been long time vacationers to the area. We have 3 children, our oldest son will be going to Western Michigan, just 40 minutes north of here in Kalamazoo. Our middle son is 16 and a baseball player and our daughter is 12 and a gymnast. They keep us busy but we still thoroughly enjoy any opportunity to come to Michigan and have outfitted the Cottage with things we love and hope you will love to!

Why they chose this property

We bought this adorable historic 100 year old home in October of 2021. We have been vacationing in Southwest Michigan for 20 years and our family has come to love this area and all that it has to offer. We use this home when we can, however as a family of 5 with active kids, we aren't able to use it as much as we'd like to in the Summer and are thrilled to offer the opportunity for others to enjoy this beautiful home. We hope to one day retire in Michigan. We hope we have created a warm and welcoming space for our guests as so many have done for us in the past. We hope you love Coloma and the surrounding areas of St. Joes & South Haven as much as we do

What makes this property unique

When looking at homes in Southwest Michigan, we considered towns from New Buffalo up to Saugatuck and knew immediately when we saw the front porch and location that this house, in Coloma, was perfect for us and our future guests. It's a bit quirky, if I was 100 years old, I imagine I'd be a bit quirky as well. The house has so much character but we are creatures of the new millennium and modern conveniences are still very important, so this house brings a combination of both historic charm and modern amenities. The front porch wraps around and has Adirondacks for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. It is a beautiful place to sit and relax and watch the world go by. We've put a fire pit in the backyard, because when you are on vacation, sm'ores are a must! There is so much to do within a just a short drive, explore St Joes & South Haven, go a bit north to Holland and Saugatuck or south to New Buffalo, the Warren Dunes & Weko Beach. Wineries & Breweries abound and wonderful restaurants, unique the area with few chains and so much to explore. Get the small town charm while still being close to all of the wonderful activities that this area has to offer. Lake Michigan and Lake Paw Paw offer opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming or just relaxing. We hope you love this area as much as we do!
