Escape to a peaceful mountain guesthouse on 40 private acres, just 12 minutes from downtown Durango. Designed for couples, anniversaries, elopements, or a quiet weekend away, this private retreat offers space, privacy, and calm without feeling too far from town.
Sleep comfortably on a Thuma king bed with a Stearns & Foster king mattress (2026 upgrade), plus clean white linens. Enjoy forest + valley views, hiking from the property, a cozy wood-burning stove, a full kitchen, whisper-quiet mini split A/C + heat, and fast Wi-Fi (up to 150 Mbps).
No pets.
Winter access requires AWD/4x4 (Nov 15–Mar 31). For last minute bookings, please inquire on road conditions and suitability of non AWD/4x4 vehicles.

Nestled on a serene 40-acre property at 7,500 ft elevation, the guesthouse offers a blend of comfort, tranquility, and natural beauty. It is thoughtfully designed and well-insulated for year-round comfort.

• Brita water filter
• Coffee maker + grinder (coffee provided) and electric kettle (tea provided)
• Fully stocked cookware, utensils, dishes, glasses/wine glasses, and cooking essentials (including spices)
• Breakfast bar with two stools
Living room
• Couch with blankets, chair, and a well-stocked wood-burning stove
• 43” Samsung Smart TV for streaming
• Sheer and blackout curtains
Entryway
• Private entry downstairs with seating bench and coat closet
• Recycling and cleaning supplies
• Picnic items including camp chairs and cooler
• Tote bags for the farmers market

We live in the main house a few hundred feet away and are happy to assist as needed while respecting your privacy.

Road & parking
• April–October: the 1.5 mile unpaved dirt road is passable in a standard vehicle
• November 15 – March 31: AWD/4x4 required due to winter conditions (please let us know your vehicle type when booking)
• Ample parking available, including a turn-around driveway
• Room for trailers (please let us know in advance)
• The driveway is private, so the only traffic you’ll see is your own (or possibly our tractor)
Laundry access
• For stays of 7+ days, washer and dryer access (downstairs) is available upon request
• Laundry is limited to one load per day

Stairs / accessibility
The guesthouse is located above our secondary garage and requires climbing one full flight of stairs. Please consider this when booking, as we are unable to accommodate guests with mobility challenges. The garage is rarely used (primarily for storage), and the guesthouse has a separate private entrance.
No pets
We are unable to host pets or animals.
Smoking / open flames
Smoking/chewing tobacco/drugs, vaping, candles, or outdoor fires are strictly prohibited—indoors and outdoors.
