About this property

Unique Red River Gorge glamping experience

Full Moon Cabin is a unique outdoor escape in the heart of Red River Gorge.

This cabin is newly and lovingly renovated using recycled and reclaimed locally sourced materials upscaled with modern necessities.

Features:
1 Bedroom with a queen bed and 1 sleeping loft with a full bed
Kitchenette
Private Deck
Fire Pit
Outdoor Seating
Driveway
Private Trails
Scenic Waterfall

The Space -
Full Moon, our newly restored tiny home, is situated alongside a perennial creek in the heart of the Red River Gorge. This unique stay offers beautiful nature views through its large window wall or from the shaded deck. This cabin is perfect for 1-4 people looking to spend time outdoors.

This tiny home is 175 square feet of efficient design. The main floor is furnished with a queen-size mattress and a full-size bed in the sleeping loft, accessible via a retractable ladder.

Inside the kitchenette, you will find silverware, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, and mugs. We have also provided extra items you might need during your stay, including salt, pepper, olive oil, a coffee maker with coffee, a kettle (the sink in the cabin is cold water only), an induction plate, and of course, a bottle opener. There is also a mini-fridge to keep any food and beverages nice and cold during your stay.

Guests may access a private fire pit behind the cabin if they need to cook anything too big for the induction plate or want to cozy up and catch a fantastic view of the stars.

(PLEASE NOTE guests should be cautious when using the fire pit. If it is too windy or you do not trust yourself to light AND extinguish a fire safely...please don't make one).

We haven't forgotten about the "bear" necessities! A private bathroom contains a toilet and an open-air heated shower. Guests must access the bathroom from the deck.

[BE ADVISED - during the winter, the bathroom is equipped with a camp toilet and is not heated. If you're like us and occasionally need to take a midnight trip to the restroom, please plan for the weather during your stay. ALSO, the shower water heater is unavailable on days below freezing due to potential damage to the heater. During warmer months, there will be a hot shower and a standard flushable toilet.]

While this cabin may be small, the adventure is anything but! Guests have access to the cabins' land, including a private trail that runs behind the glamping site and goes upstream to a woodland clearing where the creek turns and boasts a secluded waterfall. The entire property is yours to explore and enjoy.

If you like wandering under the canopy of pines, spruce, and oak, and waking up to the sound of the babbling brook, then this is the place for you. If you are the type to shy from a bug, turtle, or sasquatch, this may not be the perfect stay.

There is free parking on-site. Guests also can hike down a private trail along the creek to a clearing complete with a waterfall. Please be respectful of the land and don't leave any trash or personal items. Thank you!

NOTE: We have an additional cabin (Half Moon Cabin) that guests can book to accompany Full Moon. Half Moon is located on the same site, around 100 feet from the other. While the cabins and decks are private and entirely your own while staying, be aware that if another party is booking Half Moon, they will also have access to the creek, trails, and parking area. Please be courteous during their stay; we hope you make some friends!

We have loved transforming this small but mighty cabin and hope you enjoy your stay at Cave Creek!

Absolutely Amazing!

My stay here was BEYOND amazing. The entire property is just gorgeous and serene. As a solo female traveler I am always looking for a safe, clean place to stay-- this place checked all of the boxes. To be able to wake up in the morning and sit on the deck sipping on coffee listening to the creek to showering under the stars after a long day of hiking was just blissful. Sam was beyond amazing with communicating and answering my questions before I even arrived. As someone mentioned previously in a review, the cell service can be spotty (I have Verizon)-- but Sam did address this with me and provided the wifi code and I had no issues streaming music/Netflix. To be fair, most of that region the cell service was quite spotty so it wasn't just related to the cabin location. I was also there to escape the world, so I did not mind not having access to service. I would highly recommend staying here. I definitely will be looking to stay again in the future.

Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed the cabin, a little hot the first night, but what can you expect the end of July in Kentucky. The property overall was excellent and located close to all attractions. Will visit again. Fall may be best for these cabins due to the AC situation! Overall great stay! Thanks for sharing your property!

Awesome Getaway

My husband and I stayed for a weekend get-a-away. We have 4 kids so this was much needed. We initially reserved and paid for a larger cabin, however it ended up being booked, so we stayed in the smallest cabin out of 3. The host provided a refund and apologized. The cabin we stayed in was wonderful. Small as described in the listing, but very nice. The open air shower was amazing, and we had hot water all weekend Only 1 complaint (which is no ones fault), there was a copperhead snake in our fire pit the entire time. I did contact the host and a reptile wrangler was sent to get the snake (after we left). The creek next to the cabin (almost underneath) is amazing and great to sleep to the sound of the water. I would definitely recommend this place to any couple who just needs to get away. There is no service for any provider, so download your music before you get here.

This is the place if you're wanting to isolate yourself from reality and have the beautiful scenery of nature. Close to other nature preserves, and other attractions as well!

Weekend get away

After an amazing day of hiking, we went off the beaten path to our glamping house. It had everything we wanted and needed and the scenery was amazing. Having the creek right outside the door was perfect and the cold water felt amazing. The outdoor shower was dialed into perfection and the campfire was relaxing. Beds were comfortable and I would gladly choose to stay here again.

An absolute gem in the Gorge

This "Unique RRG glamping experience" cabin (also known as "Cave Creek RRG" on Google Maps) was a lovely place to stay. There are 2 cabins (though much to our surprise when we arrived, a 3rd was in the beginning stages of construction). The largest and best (IMHO) is Full Moon, which has a private deck that faces the creek towards the source of its flow - that's where we stayed and the focus of this review. The second largest is Half Moon, which is the one in the middle. Not sure what they'll call the 3rd under construction, but it's the closest to the road. When we stayed, Half Moon wasn't rented, so we had the entire property to ourselves. Both Full Moon and Half Moon have small kitchenettes on the inside (cold water in the kitchen sink only), and an exterior toilet and heated shower. The showers are exposed and "open air"; the toilets may be a camping toilet (read: a bucket with a seat on it), or in the warmer months it may be a flushing RV-style toilet. The entire site has city water and electric to all cabins. It appears the grey water for both the kitchen sink and shower empty onto the side of the creek. The toilets (when flushing in the warmer months) empty into a septic tank. In the cooler months, it's up to you to change the toilet bags after you do your business. I can't stress enough how nice it is to be able to shower in an open-air outdoor heated shower (it's heated via a camp heater that runs off of propane and is fairly easy to operate to the point where they're pretty much idiot-proof). The owner provided us an extra tank of propane that was in the root cellar building. Full Moon cabin appears to be fairly well constructed for a "camping cabin". The main attraction is the large multi-windowed viewing wall (which is also the side that you enter the cabin from). It has a striking view into the woods and up the creek. The main door locks and has an electric passcode deadbolt lock on it. The cabin was clean, the linens/towles in excellent shape (pretty much new); and the kitchenette was nicely stocked with some bare essentials. We were provided with 1 extra roll of paper towels and 1 extra roll of toilet paper. Plan to bring (or purchase locally) more depending on your needs. No firewood is provided, but there is a small fire pit off of the wood deck from Full Moon cabin (and a larger fire pit off of Half Moon, strangely). Lovely time! Better than expected

The set up and location of this cabin is perfection. The cabin was clean, neat and the addition of potable water when the water had to be disconnected was great. Once the water was able to be reconnected the outside shower was amazing. You have truly built a hidden gem in the Kentucky mountains. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there and I'll definitely be coming back.

Secluded and Peaceful

This property was so cozy! It is a bit outside of all the usual Gorge attractions but if you’re looking for a more private feel this is the place! It is on shared property by another cabin, and facing the creek you feel right in the middle of nature! We would definitely come back.
