About this property

The Buddy at 33 Promenade is unique in that it has two distinct living spaces on each level with sleeping, kitchen, and baths which offers some nice separation when desired. The levels are connected by an interior circular staircase and also an exterior set of stairs.

The main level is truly a vintage cottage with knotty pine and hardwoods throughout. This level has a living room with flat screen TV, an equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a full bath, laundry, and direct access to both the back deck and the front patio.

The upper level is a bit more updated and includes an equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a dining area, a living area with flat screen TV, a large bedroom, a full bath, and a deck with lake views throughout this level.

The outdoor spaces are probably where you will spend most of your time. There is a large private patio space in the front with outdoor dining, a gas grill, and a pond with waterfall and night lighting. The upper deck has seating and fantastic views of the beach and sunsets. There is also a back deck area on the main level which is great for a quiet morning coffee and to store beach gear.

Very close to North beach!

Enjoyed our stay at the Buddy. There were only 4 of us so it was very roomy and comfortable. It was nice having two kitchens. The interesting feature of the house was the narrow spiral staircase with wooden steps that could be a bit slick if you’re wearing socks. To offset this, there’s great outdoor stairs up to the top floor (I’d recommend using those to get your luggage and groceries up to the top floor). Another tip is if the upstairs gets too warm (in the nonsummer months), you can turn off the heat next to the bed (small dial on the vent near the floor).

Great stay!

We loved staying at the Buddy. Location was great! Plenty of room for our family if 9 plus an infant. We loved sitting at the patio area. We would definitely rent the Buddy again.

Perfect location for North Beach

We had a wonderful stay at The Buddy. The home was clean and well-kept with alot of character. Our favorite part was the outside patio with the small pond and waterfall. Watching the birds take a bath was amusing and grilling outside was fun for the whole family. We would highly recommend the home for a South Haven vacation destination

Why they chose this property

If you plan to spend a lot of your time in South Haven on the beach, then it doesn't get more convenient than this cottage. A quick walk and your toes are in the sand, short like 2-3 minutes. Enjoy sun filled days and evening sunsets, playground equipment, benches. Heading back to the cottage for lunch or dinner is so easy. Enjoy outside grilling and dining. Another nice feature of The Buddy is that it is separated more than most cottages with a bath, kitchen, and living area on each level.
