About this property

Breathtaking Treehouse Yurt in the Hill Country-King Bed!

This one-of-a-kind Treehouse Yurt is your PERFECT getaway from city life! Located in the heart of Texas winery and brewery country, your day trips are only minutes away in every direction! This one bedroom is hosted by Airbnb's 2022 Top New Host of the State of Texas!

Enjoy stargazing, grilling, and sitting around the fire on a 300+sq/ft deck that is built into a 300-year-old Live Oak Tree! The Tangled Oak Yurt is tucked away on a beautiful 9-acre property and offers all your modern amenities!
The space
The "Tangled Oak Yurt" is a 16-sided wooden cabin with the deck incorporated into the trunks of a giant Live Oak Tree. It sits on a platform/deck that is elevated a few feet off the ground to give it that "treehouse" feel. With solid walls that are insulated, it is more of a round cabin with a traditional yurt feel. The space does have a mini split a/c and heating unit that will keep the place at your desired temperature during the hottest summer days or the freezing winter nights.

Nestled under the canopy of our 300+ year old Live Oak tree, the front deck/porch offers a propane grill and a propane fire pit for your grilling or s'mores roasting needs. Sit back and relax and watch the stunning hill country stars, or enjoy an evening meal at the outdoor table under the bistro lights.

With 7 opening windows in addition to the 4 foot circular skylight dome, there is plenty of natural light to wake up to the sights and sounds of nature, or close the blinds and sleep in if that is more your speed. Kick back in the queen sized bed with a brand new plush memory foam mattress or on the full sized couch and catch a late night move on the 50in ROKU TV. The space also features a "kitchenette," which means it has a microwave, toaster, induction burner, sink, fridge/freezer, and a fully stocked Keurig coffee bar.

The bathroom offers a full sized vanity and a walk-in shower. We pride ourselves on providing guests with everything they need to feel at home, including complimentary toiletries, bottles of water, and fresh clean towels and linens.
Guest access
The Tangled Oak Yurt is one of two yurts on the property. Guests have access to the entire cabin/patio and surrounding grounds. Do not climb or pass through any fences. The front gate to the property and the front door to the yurt are equipped with keypad entry. The private code for entry will be given to guests prior to arrival.
Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE while we do have a cell signal booster and wifi, we are in the hill country, and cell service is spotty. Wifi calling and streaming typically work well.

We are located about 15 minutes from the closest grocery store, and about 10 minutes from a convenient store. We do provide cookware, utensils, and basic seasonings, as well as propane for the grill and fire pit.

** For those booking for a special occasion, we have add-on packages available to surprise that special someone (birthday, anniversary, and honeymoon). Please contact host for package details.

** PLEASE note there are 2 yurts on property.
The yurts are approximately 90ft apart, separated by a wooded area and a privacy fence. The porches are facing different directions to ensure they remain as private as possible. For guests looking to book both yurts, they are connected by the same driveway, which is about a 200ft walk between them.

We do have an unpaved driveway, it is well maintained and shouldn't be an issue for any vehicle, just something to consider if you have concerns about the possibility of getting your car dirty.

There is no smoking inside or on the deck, and pets are not allowed.

The Texas hill country is known for its beautiful landscape and local wildlife, so please be mindful of your surroundings if exploring the property.

Terrific place but not clean
Everything about the place was exactly as described and pictured except the cleanliness . All of the glass surfaces were dirty, the mirrors, shower door, microwave (tv had a large handprint right in the middle). There were long hairs in the shower and silverware drawer. The floor was really dirty, my husbands socks turned brown. Aside from that the place is charming and has a great atmosphere and surrounding area. The only reason I can’t leave 5 stars is the cleanliness.

Yurtalicious
Exactly as described. Well appointed and comfortable. We loved the illusion of being up in a tall tree while only a few feet off the ground. We knew the Yurt was basically ground level but it felt line we were high up! Just delightful. We will be back!

Hi I'm Derek! My wife and I (Alex) are the owners of Starlite Skies and would love to welcome you to our Tangled Oak Yurt! We both grew up in the Dripping Springs/ Bee Cave area and went to high school here. I am a first generation Texan, and Alex's family has been in Dripping Springs since 1880, which makes them one of the original families to settle this area! We live about 20 minutes away from where you will be staying, so were just a quick phone call or text away from anything you may need!

** Starting on Feb. 10, 2023 we will have a 2nd yurt open on property. For all reservations after this date, please note you will no longer be the only guests on property.
