1-bedroom/1-bathroom second floor condo is located just 15 minutes from Lihue Airport in the lovely town of Kapaa. Enjoy mountain views and swaying palms from your private lanai. The bedroom has a king sized bed, a flat screen TV, and access to the private lanai. The bathroom has a full sized vanity and shower/tub combo. Simplicity and comfort with a cozy living space, sleeper sofa bed, full kitchen, and dining for four and bar seating for two. One unassigned parking stall is provided. Enjoy any of the three pools on property, as well as community BBQ grill areas. Relax after a day in the sun with a window AC unit in each room.

Good place, good amenities

Nice property with a convenient location, a bit dated and not super well maintained. But overall has good amenities and suited our needs wonderfully for a week-long trip. We'd consider staying there again if we were to return to the island.

Very enjoyable!

Very well situated property. Clean, spacious perfect for a family of 4. Very well equipped kitchen for those who like to cook. You will find everything you need for a nice vacation. One thing I would suggest to the management that instructions what is expected from tenants should be more specific to a particular apartment since some instructions don’t apply to an every apartment.Thank you

What a gem

Clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Owner was quick to respond with any questions that came up. Conveniently located right next to the Longs drug store for anything you might need. I appreciated that it felt like the owner really cares about guests having a pleasant experience. Would absolutely rent this unit again and recommend it to family and friends.

Great place!

Plenty of basic kitchen supplies available. Beach accessories available as well so if you are coming from far away that makes life easier! Cleaning supplies available to help you keep the place clean. Great location near many beaches and supermarket. Bathroom has 2 doors separating toilet from sink which helps when you have multiple people staying. View from porch is spectacular.

Great Location

We enjoyed our time in the condo. Only one problem, the couch! It is old and very uncomfortable. I contacted our host and they said they would contact the owner. A new couch would do wonders for the place. It looks ok in the pictures but pictures can be deceiving.

Good central location to our planned island activities

Overall a good stay. The location suited our busy criss-crossing island itinerary. The check-in directions were not up-to date, as the 'front-desk' closes much earlier than stated. However, it wasn't difficult to track down security, who came within 20-30 mins to give us instructions and keys. On the surface, the unit was clean. Just don't look too close in the corners and drawers (especially in the bathroom). We had to get assistance to make the TVs work correctly. Assistance came within 24 hrs. We aren't on vacation to watch TV, but keeping up with local and national news is important to us. Like I said - overall a good stay.

This place was great! It’s a bit older and the stove was fun to figure out, but it was clean and the bed was super comfortable. It’s pretty central to anything you’d need (Safeway, Costco, Target, etc…). The pool is super private and even though we passed people in the halls a few times, every time we went for a dip, we had the whole pool to ourselves. The grill worked fine and it was nice to have that option on vacation since we grill a lot at home. The only thing I didn’t love was the laundry set up. It requires an app and you have to load your app with a minimum of $10. We did two loads and still had money leftover on the app that we’ll never use. Not a reflection of the unit, but be aware.

A really great stay - very clean and simple with charm!

I usually stay in Poipu area but chose Kapaa this time for a couple reasons. First because I wanted to be closer to both north & south side. The location was perfect! To be completely honest I wasn’t enthusiastic at first sight when I saw the building or walked into the place because it had an older look and feel than I was used to renting. However, once I settled in I really began to appreciate everything about the place. Everything was very clean! During my stay it was quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The sofa could use an upgrade but still comfortable. The shower pressure wasn’t that strong but still enjoyable. And they provided soap & shampoo & conditioner. We used the kitchen for most of our meals. Thank goodness someone mentioned there were no cooking utensils so I brought my own. I’m not sure why they don’t provide anything to cook your food with like spatulas or tongs or soup spoons. Everything else was plenty in the kitchen. I truly appreciated the ice cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, and snorkel gear which we used each day. The air conditioner was a huge plus and I’m thankful that the unit had one. There was a laundry mat to use but you need to download an app. I couldn’t figure it out so I just didn’t use it. So there two things that I was surprised and wish I knew sooner. It’s a place for just 2 people at most. I went with my sister assuming I could sleep on the couch but no other linen was provided to sleep on the couch.

Location of this property to tourist sites was ideal. Other than that, there is very little to recommend this property. In almost all the vacation rentals that I have stayed at throughout the years, I could imagine the owners actually living comfortably in the unit. Not so with this property. It is obviously managed with only-profit in mind. The overwhelming smell of 'Pinesol' disinfectant -- like a jock's lav -- upon entering the unit the first evening gave a hint of what was in store. I turned off the AC, opened all the windows & doors and left for the rest of the evening to clear the odor from the unit. This property is old with drab furnishing; cheap 'throw away' grade utensils; open kitchen trash bin; broken cabinet hinges; vent between living & bedroom to share the AC (no problem for me, as I prefer to use the overhead fans instead); and do/don't signs everywhere warning of penalty fees -- just unpleasant, not welcoming place. [To use the shared laundry W/D, you will need to download an app, so you may want to consider using the 'Laundromat Express' a block or two away] The location of this property is worth investing in a major make-over. Basically the apartment had one big problem, it was right next to the main highway. If you opened the sliding door you would get a blast of all of the truck and car noises and the smell of smoke coming from this road. even with all of the windows closed the road noise was terrible. We had to walk away from this unit and rent another apartment in the same complex but completely on the other side of this complex. I did call the owners about this condition. I told them I cannot stay in this unit at all. I have no idea what refund I will get if any. There was someone who did rent this same unit days later. What can you do to get my refund from Destination Kauai? This unit should not be rented to anyone.

Our stay at Plantation Hale was great! The apartment is clean, roomy, and comfortable.The king-size bed was very comfortable and we slept great each night. It is close to a main road so there is some noise in the morning from traffic, but it’s not loud inside the apartment. Wailua/Kapa’a is a nice town with good places to eat, and it’s a great spot on the island that is a short drive to many nice beaches and hikes. We were able to see the entire island. It has a full kitchen and grill, but we didn’t ever cook because the island has so many great places to eat. The hosts were easy and helpful, and we would try to stay here again if we make it back to the beautiful island of Kauai!

You get what you pay for

Cheap listing, but a lot of stuff is broken. The light on the balcony was out and we couldn’t get the tv to work. You also had to pay for laundry. It was nice to have a kitchen and a balcony for sure. But will probably just pay up for a hotel next time.
