As a note about the beach, directly in front of the property.
Due to Mother Nature, currents, and seasonal changes there is a changing dynamic of the amount of beach at any given time.
However, the beach is always in place, beginning just before MacArthur beach park, which is about 1/2 mile west. There are lifeguards, picnic shelters, and a shower located here.
The white sand beach goes west for many miles from there, making it one of the longest beaches on Kauai.

This property is restricted to TWO vehicles during a stay due to limited parking. While you may have an SUV, you are discouraged from having two of the larger type models (such as a Yukon Denali or similar) due to the confined space on the property. E Komo Mai and Welcome to Hale Akala (HOUSE OF THE SUN)

Kekaha is the last town westward along Highway 50. It is a collection of rural neighborhoods sewn together where people know each other, and will return a smile.

Stretched out in near-constant sunshine and a long white sandy beach, the town sits at the base of Waimea Canyon. If it's raining everywhere else on Kauai, chances are it’s sunny and dry in Kekaha, especially in the winter months. Residents enjoy a laid-back atmosphere with pristine beaches, enchanting views, and a small-town lifestyle.

Above all else, this is a beach town, where everyone owns a surfboard.

This designer custom home features an open concept floor plan with high vaulted ceilings, giving the house a tropical airy feeling, perfect for that person who loves COASTAL LIVING in the SUN. As you enter through a landscaped enclosed courtyard with a water feature bridge, it welcomes you into the foyer. The first thing you notice is the open design and soaring ceilings, with a windowed wall of glass looking the ocean. The two master bedroom suites, laundry, kitchen, dining, and living areas are located on the first floor. There are two primary suites on the first floor, each with their own en-suite bathrooms.. The shower in the first suite features an Ann Sacks tiled bath with large, dual head, walk-in shower. The second bath has a large tub and shower clad in Carrera Marble.. The well equipped kitchen features a gas Wolf range and Sub Zero refrigerator, and marble counters with a very large work island, offering ample seating for family and guests. Overlooking the great room is a large lofted bedroom area, accessed by an architecturally inspired stainless steel circular staircase. The loft features the third bedroom with a sitting area, complete with a sofa and large screen TV. There is a third bathroom that has beautiful travertine throughout. From the loft, there are windows looking west, down the shore, providing views of the island of Niihau, and those famous Kekaha sunsets.

A generous ocean side lanai offers views of the Kekaha coastline to Niihau and beyond. This location, across the road from the ocean, offers BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEWS, and the SOUND OF CRASHING SURF, while enjoying a colorful SUNSET. Close by are several surf breaks, for that person looking for a surfing vacation. The views from this home are truly exceptional. The location of this home, in the area known as Kekaha Sunset, is near the pristine dune backed Polihale Beach Park, the hiking trails of Kokee, the stunning scenery of the Waimea Canyon, and the shopping and restaurants in Waimea town. There are two grocery stores, less than three miles from the house. For your comfort, the home is complete with a SPLIT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM THROUGHOUT.

Come and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine, and the people who live here.
You will be welcome with warm, dry weather, most any time of the year.
You will not find the resort crowds here, but you can easily visit one of the resorts for a night out, and return to the serenity of this ocean side setting. This is the Hawaii of years past, which has become hard to find.

Beautiful Home in Kauai
We really enjoyed how spacious the house was, it was perfect for our family of four. We were grateful for all the amenities included (washer, dryer, beach, chairs, beach, umbrellas). The house was very well stocked as well, with dishes, toilet paper, paper, towels, dish soap, all the little things that you often have to buy at the beginning of the trip. The views out the windows and on the lanai were absolutely beautiful and we got to see many gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. The only constructive feedback we would offer is that the house needs a bit of a deep cleaning… There were parts of the kitchen that needed, scrubbed, and areas, such as under the beds and glass surfaces that had not been cleaned in a while.

Beautiful, spacious home on the west side of Kauai
My parents and I had a fabulous stay. We had more than enough room and the house could comfortably fit 5-6 easily. Couldn’t recommend more highly

Absolutely Amazing House. Incredible ocean views, well maintained and fully stocked.
I can't say enough good things about this vacation rental property. My entire family was blown away. Beautiful house with ocean views out every window. Very clean and well maintained. Beautiful landscaping. Fully stocked with anything you could possibly need. The host was attentive and responsive during our planning process. One of the best properties I have ever stayed at. Wish we could go back again and again! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kauai.

About the host

Hosted by Scott Worner

Host profile image
We are a family of outdoor enthusiasts from Golden, Colorado. After almost 10 years of vacationing in Hawaii, we came to call this area of Kauai "home". We just purchased this home in 2021, after waiting for several years for one of the limited number of homes along the ocean in Kekaha to come on the market. We had to act quickly, and we did.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location! We learned early on that other parts of the island did not enjoy year around sunshine. While beautiful, other parts of the island get a rainy season in the winter months especially, and that can dampen a vacation at the beach.
With less than 15 inches a year, this is the place to be if you like warm sunny days, less humidity, and a warm ocean with a long white sand beach. What more could we ask for?
All of this with a quiet local community as a back drop, and a place where the beach will almost be empty at times. This is paradise.

What makes this property unique

Being a beach front town, that was the most important us.
Dependable sunny weather was important.
No crowds, and beaches with a lot of room
