Villa Blanca is a beautifully restored six unit vacation rental apartment complex in a safe, tranquil, garden like setting steps to the beach and boardwalk. We refreshed the apartment in November 2025 with new flooring, paint, and lighting. All of the apartments are named after world famous beaches. Our 'Catalina' apartment is bright and sunny with spectacular white water ocean views. You can hear the waves and smell the surf! This spacious one bedroom, second floor, apartment is charming and bright . The large galley kitchen is fully equipped for making a gourmet meal or simply packing a picnic lunch for the beach. The grounds of the building contain a barbecue area and outdoor shower with beach toys and boogie boards. This upscale, family friendly neighborhood is a minute walk from every restaurant cuisine you can imagine, plus shopping, grocery stores, bars and all the boardwalk activities. Freeway access to all San Diego attractions is nearby.


If you're planning a family reunion, wedding, corporate event or are traveling with multiple friends or family members Villa Blanca is a perfect alternative to a larger house or hotel. The entire vacation complex can accommodate up to 20 adults plus children. The complex consists of two large buildings. Building one has two apartment on the second floor...a one bedroom/one bath and a two bedroom/one bath. The ground floor is the same..both floors have shared porches and ocean views. The second building has two apartments on the second floor with two bedrooms/one bath. Please contact us for further details if you would like to rent multiple apartment or plan an event.

Short walk to the beach, restaurants of all types and Crystal Pier. Neighbors are close by, can hear them and their dog while in the apartment. Not luxurious or fancy but queen matress was comfortable.

I forwarded this review to our property manager. The oven has been fixed….this guest did not let us know it wasn’t working so we didn’t have the opportunity to remedy that issue. Ceiling fan has also been replaced…the grate he mentions is made of metal….so this close to the beach it rusts literally every few months. We clean, paint and repair it frequently. During our busy summer season it’s hard to paint this grate. It’s now been repaired. Our one bedroom apartments do not come with reserved parking…..but parking in this residential yet urban neighborhood is unmetered and unlimited. So once you park you can stay in that spot all day….everything is close and within a short walking distance.

If we are back in the area, we would stay again! Property manager is on WhatsApp which was very helpful since we only had access to Wifi based communication. Just wish the weather was better!

Pacific Beach getaway

We enjoyed our stay. Property clise to everything walking distance. We uber to san diego snd la jolla a few times cheaper than getting car. Not much for outdoor space on propery but was fine as one block to beach

Cute apartment in a great location in Pacific Beach just a 2 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute walk to bars/restaurants. Love that they had beach chairs available to use too! Would definitely stay here again next time we go to San Diego. Thank you!

I’m sorry this guest didn’t tell our property manager about both the hot water and stove issues during her stay. We are only hearing about these things in her review.....These issues could have been easily fixed. All of our apartments have large hot water heaters and standard four burner stoves with large ovens. Not only do we have a full time property manager who’s available 24/7 but we also employ a handyman who’s available to immediately address any repairs necessary during a guests stay. Just wanted to add that we just sent our handyman to the apartment. The water heater had been turned down so that was an easy fix...also all stove burners work but as the stove is gas the covers need to be lined up and this could have been the issue. If the guest had called this could have been fixed immediately.

Very easy to find and ocean views were great. Very clean and cozy. The only 2 things were parking first come first serve. The other thing was the cooking pans needed to be update and a few utensil were outdated. Overall it was great and can't wait to come again.

Apartment steps from the ocean.

An older property that can use a fresh coat of paint, especially on the doors and wood trim. Could use new windows, as some of the screens were ripped. The property manager was prompt in bringing me a coffee machine , and light bulbs. Location was excellent!

Pacific Beach

Pacific Beach, like most of the So Cal shoreline is very, very densely packed with vacation stay options. The Villa Blanca on Chalcedony Street is one property in from the intersection with Mission Blvd. The parking on the street, while described as “unlimited” was largely taken by vans and small busses of beach goers that stayed parked for weeks at a time. The Villa is a building that harkens back to a former era of beach vacations. The property is fenced and grassy. The peeling stucco, broken blinds and holes in the screens reveal a budget approach to maintainence. There was a curious combination of clogged drains (addressed and re-clogged in a month) and a unique use of extension cords with multiple outlet surge protectors to power the fans, TVs and router to extend the small about of outlets in the bedroom and living room. The "welcome book" was markedly out of date. The woman who came to clean the empty units was very friendly and the contact to exchange linens. The walk to the ocean is less than 2 minutes while passing a number of other rental properties. The ability to hear the ocean occurrs between 2:30 am and 5:30 am when the heavy traffic, busses and sirens on Mission Blvd subsides. The residents were a mix of families with small children to partying youths to retirees. The occasional screaming and singing on Mission Blvd was generally kept to Thursday thru Sunday and ended by 3 am. The location north of the Crystal Pier was generally safer than the south side when daily fights and intoxicated problems were noted per Crimemapping.com. During our stay no cars were broken into on this street (perhaps due to the presence of the people sleeping in the vans) though that did occur both to the north on Law Street and on several streets to the south. The one homicide on the beach (September, 2022) remained under investigation at the time.

It’s difficult to respond to this review which is actually four stars. I think this older couple picked the wrong destination. San Diego is a large, urban city on the beach. Our location in North Pacific Beach is very urban with a high concentration of hotels, restaurants, shopping and bars. The parking is unmetered and with high concentrations of beach goers daytime summer parking can be a challenge but frees up in the evening for our guests to snag a parking spot. Most local neighborhoods offer two hour parking spots that are controlled by a meter maid who marks and tickets cars…..so unlimited parking is very desirable. Our two bedroom apartments come with parking. We refresh, repaint and repair as needed but do more extensive repairs twice a year after our busy summer season and in the spring. This apartment just received those repairs and a new sofa.

Incredible Location So Close To The Beach

What a great location minutes to the beach! My dog was welcome here, which was so great. I rarely had to use my car to go anywhere. Extremely walkable. The bed was super comfy, and I loved that I had a peek a boo view of the ocean from my LR window. Very good restaurants nearby, and of course, the beach was amazing. I wished that I could’ve stayed longer. Thank you for a memorable stay!

This property REEKS of mildew and mold. The building has not been kept up and there are numerous dangerous electrical issues. Lights flicker. Outlets do not work. Lightbulbs burnt out. Sockets where the light bulb has gotten to hot and the socket is unusable. Fire alarms were broken or batteries missing and property manager did not replace batteries even after informed. Screens in windows were falling out, allowing bugs in and I did not feel safe enough to keep all windows open at night. Windows do not lock correctly. Hot water heater makes loud banging noises & sounds like an icemaker continually. Furniture was filthy and needs replaced. Towels and bedding were spotted and stinky. Bedroom closet smelled like dog. Bedding on bed smelled sour. Ceiling fan broken. Other fans did not work or were so rusty they were falling apart. Lamps in bedroom falling apart and did not work. Dishes and silverware filthy. I thought the moldy smell was going to make me ill. I woke up choking in the middle of the night. I couldn't wait to leave. To top it off, as soon as I booked, I emailed owner to ask if I could get an early check in and ask what type of hairdryer was provided in the unit. She responded that, "This is not the Four Seasons" and told me I should cancel my reservation. I was appalled at the unprofessional, disproportionate response & should have heeded this red flag. She is clearly a slumlord. Stay far away from Seahawk Vacations and Villa Blanca. Greed & filth abounds.

My dog and I loved the beach

This apartment is in the perfect location- a two minute walk from the beach. The one drawback for me was that this particular beach wouldn’t allow dogs between 9 am and 6 pm, so I had to drive her to Ocean Beach during the day. The apartment had everything we needed. We didn’t spend much time in there. Bed, shower, appliances, dishes, and even a complimentary bottle of wine; can’t ask for more than that.

Great Stay!

We had a great stay! You cannot beat the location and all of the neighbors were really nice. We walked everywhere we needed to go which was nice and suprisingly, parking was easy to find. Lots of surfers coming in and out so we got lucky every time. I’m not sure I’d stay here again with an infant because of some minor hazards (stairs/cords) and noise at night but the noise was only a thing on weekend nights. Would definitely come back with friends or my husband. Property manager was super nice and super hospitable.
